Topic of the Day:  I'm the one person in the family who has to assemble all the IKEA-type items. ::) I also have replaced light fixtures, door knobs, shelving units, etc.

I was up too late finishing up File M for Murder, the third Cat in the stacks mystery. Once the mystery and the killer(s) are boiling up to a finish, I find it really hard to put the book down. This series also has me wanting a Maine coon cat, but that will never happen. Annabelle wants no competition ruling the apartment, and Stella and Thatch would go on strike.

So, I slept in. When I finally decided it was time to get up and feed the cats, Annabelle and Thatch were sleeping next to me.

DR singsaw, my best friend in undergraduate school was Jane Greenwood's costume assistant on 70 Girls 70. He was there the night David Burns died, and he has many stories about the show.

I am a complete incompetent when it comes to assembling anything. The instructions always seem to be in a language completely foreign to me, I've been fortunate to have many friends to rely on for such errands and I hope I've been generous in thanking them for their assistance. The current teacart is an assemblage disaster, but I cannot blame Jen, since it's clear this cart was designed to be stuck in a decorative corner with  a plant or two on it and never to be wheeled about on its flimsy wheels.

The cart, after I've put it aside for the night, has turned into a Pullman sleeping car, with Thatch on the bottom tier and Annabelle on the top. Whenever I see them relaxing inside it, I think:
For a little silver quarter we can have the Pullman porter turn the lights down low . . .

TOD:

It depends.  I can do some things well, and other things moderately awful.  I especially detest anything made in China that requires instructions to assemble because the English translation is decidedly imbecilic.

I can change light bulbs but not fluorescents.

Thank goodness I can cook and follow recipes.

I can also adjust the clocks in my car and truck when necessary.

I have always had a proclivity for hooking up electronic equipment for audio and video purposes.

And for some reason, i am able to simultaneously walk and chew gum, should it ever be necessary.

I must say that from the bits I can see, this Dolly! choreography looks properly stunning. Costumes, too. I dunno about the overall set design.

I think the worst thing visited upon high school musicals is PACING, which can be excruciating, along with the failure of directors in not identifying and insisting upon the correct EMPHASIS or RHYTHM in line delivery. These kids are solid, but for my sanity, this production suffers from these sins.

Like DR RON PULLIAM I can hook up most electronics.

I am inept when it comes to cars.

Sometimes I watch a YouTube video that will show what's wrong with something - but I am not always secure that I will be doing it right.

I do have to call a plumber next week for a problem.

Back from the plant sale. Got a bougainvillea and a tiny rosemary. Just what I wanted.

Like Ron, I hate the imbecilic translations from Chinese to English by way of Serbo-Croatian.

I can’t do much, certainly not with the dexterity my dad displayed. But I can so simple plumbing work.
