They should do a remake of West Side Story, but place it in 1400s Italy. And have it be two warring families instead of gangs.

:)

I'd watch it when it streams on Netflix.

In addition to penning his upcoming new hit "It Is What It Is", BK should write a followup/companion song, "What the HELL Am I Talking About?"

I should think that these would get plenty of air time. Don't you?

I'd enjoy a hit song on "The Tales of the Randy Vicar."

I agree that Michael Clayton is an excellent movie. Tilda Swinton excels in an excellent cast.

I also agree With ChasSmith on Annie Hall over Manhattan. I just find the age gap icky in the latter.

TOD:

Truffaut's "Antoine Doinel" movies. I have the Criterion DVD set, and with the publicity about the upcoming 4K/Blu-ray upgrade I've felt ashamed that, other than The 400 Blows, I believe I only saw the very next film that followed. And yet I've had them all here for years. So I re-watched Blows and its supplements and should get through all the rest in the coming week.

Sad news.

That's the one in Buellton, I presume? Yes, I guess it would have to be. Great fondness for that one.

Such a great location. Loved stopping there. Hell, I think I drove up from L.A. once just to enjoy the drive up the coast and have lunch there. I'd also been to the one near San Clemente.

The third one - up in the central valley? - possibly still exists, but last time I heard anything about it people were saying it's but a ghost of its former self. As I'd expect, since that seems to be the way of the world these days. I was never at that one.

I think the other California jernts really known for their pea soup were Marie Callender's. Am I right about that? Friends and I really liked it, and I'm thinking it was actually more delicious than Andersen's. What other places, anywhere, have specifically been known for their pea soup, I wonder?

I didn't know there was one in San Clemente.  We often stopped for the night in Santa Nella on our drives to L.A. and always ate at Andersen's.

It was somewhere in that area, driving south on I-5. Oceanside, maybe.

Santa Nella would be the one I hadn't stopped at.

Love that drive. And lived Andersen’s anachronistic vibes. It was too good for this world. I guess no reason for the building to exist if people aren’t lining up for pea soup.
