I'm doing my best here:
Margaritaville would be known to few DRs in New York!

DRTomovoz, the TURNING POINT DVD is yours!  I'll put it into the post ASAP.

DRBen, thanks for the link; I notice Erik had no words about rewriting Jule Styne as well.

I'm up!  I'm LATE!  I need to get to the train station to visit my friends.

Just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed Fiddler last night.  I must be very tired because I cried like a baby when he said goodbye at the train station and then again when his other daughter came to see him after marrying the guy.

Rosie sang Jewish with a Brooklyn accent (if that's possible) but I really liked her.

I should be back in town in late after noon if anyone wants to do dinner.

I called the Super Shuttle to confirm my pick up time--It's 4:30 PM tomorrow afternoon.  Wow, is my trip really almost over?

Have a good and SAFE day all.

Laters!

Wow, fifth page before 9 a.m.

Did I miss it, or has someone already posted the link to the lovely Talkin' Broadway Sound Advice review of the Harvey Schmidt CD?  (If someone already has, sorry for being redundant, but it bears repeating.  :) )

Congrats, Bruce.

Tomovoz - Can't wait until September 2006.  How long will you be in New York?  I know you mentioned you are going up to Canada as well.

I don't know if Jose will be able to lead us in a tour next year , unless he travels in disguise, as all his Lestat  groupies will, no doubt, be following him wherever he goes

It's a photo feast!  First the New York contingent's glut of swell photos!  And now Hisaka's great photos.  Bring 'em on!  By the by, who's incognito behind those Foster Grants?  Do they still make Foster Grants?

Love those photos!
Hisaka's journey through pictures actually MAKES me want to go to L.A.! (a city I really had no interest in seeing)
As for the HHW contingent & tour of NYC, well, it's so damned bittersweet, as I may not make it to NYC over Thanksgiving weekend as originally planned. . .still, where there's a will there's a way.

And for the TOD:
cd:  THE WILDLIFE CONCERT John Denver
dvd:  GHOSTS OF THE ABYSS
SHE-WOLF OF LONDON
vcr:  a production of EVERYMAN in which I played the character of "God;'  I have two tapes of this, one done by a friend of mine, the other done by the director himself.  Opening sequence is fun, as I got to chose the music for the prologue, and it was the instrumental opening to BLOOD BROTHERS.

Next, I think all the HHW-ers should travel East to Pittsburgh, just voted (once again) the US' most livable city.

Good morning all, I'm at LaGuardia getting ready to go through security and head back to the heartland.  What a fabulous trip, but I'm ready to go home now.  I have tons of photos and will post some tonight.

I spoke to my mother last night, she said she saw us on the Today Show! I think her exact quote was "I used to say look at all those idiots smiling and waving for the cameras....and there you were" It was said in jest and taken as such.  She hates Katie Couric, so for her to sit through the entire show to see us, meant she was really watching for us.

Better go get to my gate, I'll post more there if I can still get on the net.

Subways are for sleeping, and.....

Quote
Man Uses T-Shirt to Aid Birth in Subway
BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) -- A high school history teacher took the T-shirt off his back to catch a premature baby as a woman pregnant with triplets gave birth in a subway stairwell.

Lanitta Lewis, 30, was on her way to a doctor's appointment Monday when she felt the first birth pains and called out for help. She was largely ignored by commuters in the Bay Area Rapid Transit station until Biko Eisen-Martin took notice.
Eisen-Martin, on a break from Berkeley High, ran to a nearby cafe to call an ambulance and returned in time with his T-shirt to catch a 3-pound girl, he said. Paramedics rushed the baby to Children's Hospital & Research Center Oakland.

The other two girls were delivered by Caesarean section at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in Berkeley. The first baby was reunited with her younger siblings at Alta Bates Summit and they were attached to feeding tubes but listed in good condition Wednesday, hospital officials said.

(Above from the Associated Press)

Note to Jose: as a frequent Subway user I suggest you memorize these lines:

Quote
Lawzy, we got to have a doctor. I don't know nothin' 'bout birthin' babies.

A cynic would suggest that the photographer waited for the right "special" customer to be searched.

A real cynic would suggest the paper hire an extra for the event.

Then there those who are never satisifed:

Quote
But at Penn Station during the start of morning rush hour, some subway riders commented on a lack of visible police presence and said no one had searched their bags.

Advice: want your bags searched - wear a turban!

What, and waste precious minutes???

Might be you'd get damn few bars in a Subway stairwell.

(Also, 911 service from cell phones is an iffy proposition in some areas)

More on 911 from cell phones:

Quote
But what happens when you call 911 from your cell phone is not the same as when you call from a landline phone. All 911 phone calls from cell phones are forwarded to the California Highway Patrol dispatch center, which receive more than 6 million calls a year statewide, up from 29,000 in 1998. As a result what will happen most often is that the caller will be greeted with a recorded message saying all operators are busy. Once you do manage to get through you will need to convey all of the information related to the emergency you are reporting, then you will be transferred to the appropriate local dispatch center, where you will be requested to repeat all of the emergency information again. All of this takes time, too much time.

This from Stanford Univesity Fire Marshall.

Conclusion - best to run to the corner Deli!

Murphy's Law states:

Any show you have missed will be recorded by numerous friends on their DVD - and they will not have a link-up to copy from DVD to tape - so you will be SOL.

Based on the Spring runway shows in Paris, the designers are getting a head start on the Award Shows:

These "show no feet designs" inspired by the film of "A Chorus Line"

This is from the "After the Mawl" collection

My parents were in the subway in July waiting for a train and watching the subway searches.  Mom said the two young police officers let dozens of turbaned people, and scruffy looking  "suspicious characters" (her words) with backpacks, shopping bags, suitcases etc stroll right by but every pretty , scantially clad young lady with a shopping bag was stopped for a thorough inspection
