Re: last night's DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES.

I was thinking about last night's show before reading DR MattH's post.

The storylines this year are just not as interesting.  I went through them in my head one by one.  And I totally agree with what DR MattH said.  Bree's storyline was the only one that was up to snuff.

The whole thing about DH is the funny storylines.  Bree's was quite funny with the whole "burying Rex" story.  Gabrielle's was second best (the lawyer) but not THAT interesting.  Then to me came Susan's story.  I just don't think she would have lied to the plumber and sent zach off.  But i think the most boring was Lynnette.  I suppose her method to deal with her boss was somewhat okay.  But I really didn't care for it.

And i'm not liking Alfre and son's story at all. She doesn't connect with any of the other women.  And so far it's just not interesting!

~~~~~~~~~~Good Vibes to our friends in Wilma's path~~~~~~~
As I was exiting my building today, my landlady came running at me, her mouth full of toothpaste, yelling, "You've got a leak! You've got a leak!!" Confused, I immediately checked the front of my pants. She said it was in our bathroom and as I stared at her blue, foamy tongue, she explained that there is water running down the walls of the two apartments below mine and her ceiling is bubbling and about to give way. I am unaware of any leaks in my bathroom, but her husband - who I am certain is NOT a plumber - is in our apartment as I type this trying to find the leak. If the leak is coming from our tub, we're screwed. He'd have to rip out all the tile around the tub just to get to the pipes. :-\
Many hearty congratulations to TCB for these many honors. I'm sure they're all MOST deserved. I only wish I could see for myself!
One day, perhaps!
Yikes!  I don't know which mental picture is worse--the landlady with the foaming blue mouth or the picture of you having your bathroom all torn up!
We have a chilly, overcast day here, so it's not a great morning but . . .
Good Morning, anyway!
No walk this morning, but hopefully one this afternoon.
KING OF KINGS (Jeffrey Hunter) became my new favorite Biblical epic after watching it on DVD a couple of months ago. That magnificent score and the ernestness without pomposity takes it to the top for me.
THE TEN COMMANDMENTS is a great movie-movie, but it's gained so much campy value over the years that I can't take it seriously as much any more.
Sword and Sandal: THE THIEF OF BAGDAD with Steve Reeves.
Topic of the Day -
The Ten Commandments
And the title just slipped my mind... The one that covers the first couple of books of The Bible, at least from Adam & Eve to Noah and the Ark.
Since I spent a good deal of my elementary and high school years in parochial schools, I saw a lot of Bible movies.  They were always better than having an actual class.  ;)
*However, once I got into middle school and high school, what were really fun were those "moral values" short subjects.  I still remember the one with David Cassidy.  His "acting" even caused the priest to laugh out loud, especially during the whole "morning after" sequence.  -And the real funny thing was that it was never really stated what had happened the night before.  Did he have a drink?  Did he get drunk?  Did he drink and drive?  Did he have sex?  Did he do all of the above?  Or was he just feeling guilty about thinking about drinking and having sex?
;D
TOD:  Hmmmm...."Biblical" and "Sword and Sandal".........
Strictly speaking, Biblically, I'd have to name "Samson and Delilah" in a tie with "The Ten Commandments."
My favorite EPIC films, however, are "The Egyptian," "Quo Vadis," Ben-Hur," "Spartacus" and "The Robe."
I think "Spartacus" probably fits into the sword-and-sandal category, and it would be in first place with "Demetrius and the Gladiators" in second.
Congrats, Tom!
I'm sure that whatever categories you were nominated in as competition to Tom, the voters saw you as a bright young star in the local theatrical firmament.
But there's nothing like a GOM (grand old man) of the theater!
Thank you, DR Jose once again for all of the hard work you put into the eating tour.  I can't speak for anyone else but you really helped to make this last trip something very special.
Thank you, again.  It was truly my pleasure.
"Quo Vadis" !  Now that is one movie I really liked.  The guy who played the emperor was really something.
I think they tried to recreate him when ALW did JC:SS
Saturday the Vixter and I saw Fiddle at the Minskoff after a lovely little lunch at Barrymore's.  Just a burger but very delicious it was, and the Vixter had mozzerella sticks and chicken tenders which were also lovely (she shared hers, I shared my fries)
