I slept well until til sometime around 3:30, when Thatch's aggressive attempts to break into a plastic bag of bonito flakes wakened me. He calmed down and both he and Stella hopped into bed with me and Annabelle. I got very little sleep aftewr that with so many kitties to cuddle.

TOD: Waldbaum's in the (then innocuously named) Trump Shopping Center near my home in Luna Park was pretty wonderful, but we also had a bodega-style market right across the street which was well-stocked, just a bit more expensive than Waldbaum's.

These days, I really like using Amazon Fresh, and Skip really likes using Instacart for Costco.

I had a strange dream in which I had created a new Shakespearean pastiche, Tytania's Revenge, in which Tytania seeks revenge on Oberon and the rustics from A Midsummer Night's Dream for making her sleep and mate with a donkey. Most of the play's lines came from all of Shakespeare's plays, although I had to futz with some to make them fit their new situations. I think all the actoirs playing fairies were nude, but I'm not certain. Maybe that was another dream?

Yesterday I finished my second chart for Joshie. I think he may bring me a third today when he picks up this one. I( may ask him to help me cart several days of garbage and trash bto the basement while he's here.

We never went to supermarkets when I was a kid; we always went to mom & pop groceries that carried the essentials and had their own butchers. I don't recall being in a huge supermarket until I was in my late teens.

I enjoyed the A&P grocery store and the Safeway and Kroger.

I still like to walk around with my cart - I go to Walmart now so I can get my underwear where I get my hot dogs.

Most of my brothers and sisters have their groceries delivered.

But I like to see what I'm getting and look at the specials and sales...and see folks. If there is no one in the checkout line I always go to let Joan check me out - otherwise I use the self checkout where Erin is always very helpful and keeps me up to date on what's playing at the local movie house. Tony never says much, but he is pretty quick to help if I have trouble - usually not speaking a word.

Joan was named after Joan Davis because I Married Joan was her mother's favorite show and two weeks ago she had to call AAA to bring her a battery for her car.

My brother hurt his back and will not be by today.

That will NOT do. THAT WILL JUST NOT DO.

I am going out and doing about 15 or twenty minutes of shoveling.....coming back in for awhile and then going out again. I may be done by 1 p.m. or so.

I don’t get food delivered. I enjoy shopping for groceries. I love farmers markets, supermarkets, Trader Joe’s (which feels smaller than a supermarket IMO), gourmet food shops, etc.
