Trying to get the photos to show up in the notes - but they're there and if you click in the large blank spaces they'll show up and then use your back button to go back to the notes.

Last night, Freddie asked:
Quote
Do Oreos not have expiration or "use by" dates on them?

Yes, they do have "Best By" dates on them, but if the package isn't opened, I don't worry too much about opening and eating the product(s) past that date.  I just make sure that I eat them more quickly once they're opened. :l

And:

Thanks, Kevin, for the Wordle comment, and Good job for your Wordle score!

And clicking on the photos' blank spaces works!  That's pretty darned cool that you were able to identify the area, BK!

Amazon had a weird sale during my insomnia bout last night. The CD of the original Philadelphia cast of Bob Merrill’s Prince of Grand Street was $7.71. It’s $33 this morning. Glad I ordered a copy.

Did you order the copy in a dream?

Really clever and pointed one.

Hoping Trump never targets him, though.  He seems to keep getting closer and closer to the line, and keeps going for it.

Excellent solving of a mystery in the notes. These L.A. photo mysteries are wonderful, and BK is way better than I would be at solving them.

In this one, with no theater name on that parking sign, I might have thought there was nothing to go on except for that white building, which I never would have recognized and don't remember at all. BUT ... if Belmondo had been an inch or two to the left, OR if the photographer had been an inch or two to the right, the little church at the end of Las Palmas would have been an immediate giveaway for me. There's even a little bit of it in the photo, but not enough to be recognizable. If you lived in Hollywood, the sight of that church from the Boulevard is as iconic as the Miceli's sign or the newsstand or the Gold Cup.

Question for BK:  Could the beautiful old streetlamp on the right at least have identified the locale as Hollywood, or were those prevalent all around town? And are any of that style left, perhaps in some of the residential streets in the hills? I loved that style even when I lived there.

However, I regret to say that as a geography nut -- and an L.A. geography nut in particular -- I'm afraid I have to send these notes back to the author for correction. The Bekins building is SOUTH of Santa Monica Blvd., not north of it.

That was a test, right? I didn't even have to consult a map. How did I do?   :)

So, my latest, um, "problem"?

Cinnamon raisin toast. Just polished off the last two slices of a loaf of Thomas' cinnamon raisin bread.

It's partly because it's is an easy way to get the flavor of cinnamon rolls themselves, with or without raisins, but of course without all the work and all the rest of what's good about cinnamon rolls, so... a poor man's quick cinnamon roll fix?

Their cinnamon raisin English muffins are wonderful, too. You have to slice or fork-split them yourself, but hey, what's ten extra seconds of hard labor when the reward is so damned close?

But wait. Did I say "problem"? Don't look at me like that. What "problem"? I CAN STOP ANY TIME...

They had those street lamps elsewhere when I was a child. I had a feeling from the start that this was Hollywood. I thought Ivar first and the Ivar Theater - then Cahuenga for LeGrand, but there are no older buildings left there. I have no idea why the small theater I went to most didn't pop into my head right away.
