I loved Glass Wax.....all of my uncles used to use it to coat the BIG windows of their car dealerships so that the NEW models could not be seen until the EXACT day.  Sometimes they would clean off little corners way up high just to tantalize us!

We wanted to see the 1959 Plymouths and Chevrolets!

Time for me to leave the internet for a spell and start prepping lunch. I'm doing spaghetti today, so that takes some preparation.

WBBL.
Is watching a spaghetti western part of the prep?

It's November!  November is...

American Diabetes Month

Epilepsy Awareness Month

National Healthy Skin Month

National Home Care and Hospice Month

Lung Cancer Awareness Month

and National Impotency Month.

Your pick on which is most important to yourself, of course.

Today at the Goodwill Store I found (in addition to DR DtM's Tommy Hilfiger boxers w/o torn crotch) was a book.

THE PRODUCER by Christopher Davis.  I had never heard of this book, but it is:  :...an account of some months in the life of Hilly Elkins, the producer of OH CALCUTTA.....THE ROTHSCHILDS....and HEDDA GABLER (starring [his wife] Claire Bloom...."

Hmmmmmm.....

When I was in Junior and Senior High School, I would get a Snoopy School-Year Calendar every year.  It made more sense to me than getting a calendar that started the year in January, since I'm August-born.

I would also give my father a weekly calendar from the Sierra Club.  Not only was it filled with gorgeous photography, but there was lots of space for Dad to make notes from work.

Update from the pressing plant - they are pressing the discs now, and say they will be on their way to me at one.  While I would like to believe that, I'll assume one will be three.  So, I may, in fact, be able to get out some of the CDs today, if the post office isn't too crazy.  I have a four o'clock meeting here, so whatever I do has to be done by then.

Now, if they were to arrive by one, I could probably get most of them out today.

I have to tell DR Jose how much I am enjoying his daily journal of LESTAT. Your excitement and enthusiasm are so entertaining to read, and I wanted you to know how happy I am for you and hope it's just the beginning of a long and illustrious career in the "pits" of Broadway.

Bravo!

That reminds me--a question for DR Jose:

Is LESTAT based on INTERVIEW WITH A VAMPIRE or on LESTAT THE VAMPIRE?

Here is a funny factoid: Yesterday, I got up at eight-thirty, logged on to haineshisway.com to find forty-five posts.  Today I got up at eight-thirty, logged on to haineshisway.com to find forty-five posts.

Here is a not funny factoid:  No posts since my last post.  Where in tarnation IS everyone, and why are the people who ARE here just sitting there like so much fish?

Sometimes I'm here, but I'm not really here.

Sort of the way I am in person.

My oldest sister was a Glass Wax artist!  Every Christmas she did our front windows with little snowflakes, wreaths, candles and candy canes.  It was beautiful.

The one time I tried my hand at it, it was an unholy mess.  Drips and smears and soggy stencils.  Not in my bag of talents.

He's rehearsing, so I'll answer for him - the first act is based on THE VAMPIRE LESTAT; the second act is based on INTERVIEW WITH A VAMPIRE. At least that's what Sir Elton and crew said yesterday...

I guess the Gaghans acting perfect completely went over our heads.  We have had the highest admiration for how they dealt with such young kids.  I can tell you if my boys had been on that show, we would have made the Paolos look like the Cleavers.  ;)  That's why we liked the Gaghans so much--they were a crash course in good parenting.  Surprised they raised so many hackles, but I guess that's what makes horse racing.

I made it to work on time this morning.

Despite having had "enough" sleep, the little break in it that I had between 3:30 and 4 a.m. made it tough to get out of bed.

I agree with you JMK....I can't for the life of me figure out why so many people I know disliked that family. But I guess they saw things I didn't.

My friend Ron told me to take off the rosie colored glasses when I watch TAR!

I've been at the copy machine the past couple of hours.  Have to copy all files pertaining to three County leases for the Superior Court of California as they are entering "due diligence" preparatory to taking over the leases themselves.

I can only say, "I HATE STAPLES"!!!

And I mean those little wire thingies, not the office supply store.

Removing those staples takes far more time than the copying...and I have thousands and thousands of sheets of paper (more than 20 years worth in the case of one lease) to copy (between now and Nov. 21).

Vinnie will be dropping by what will hopefully be the final version of Kevin's CD.  I've already done a few errands, and shall now just wait for the discs to arrive - bubble wrap at the ready.

DR JMK - speaking just for MYSELF.  They symbolized to me the complete wrecking of the premise of THE AMAZING RACE for the FAMILY EDITION of a show that I really enjoyed the way it was.  I thought they ran a good race - but I didn't want to see a FAMILY edition.  I want my regular AMAZING RACE back....which I think we will get next time.

General word is that the producers are NOT happy with the results of this particular edition and are VERY aware that regular fans of the show are also VERY unhappy.  8)

Nice photo DR LAURA.

I am waiting for some tree leaf changing action to take a FALL photo.  But it's slow going in my yard.  The neighbors all have nice yellow and some red leaves, but mine are still stubbornly GREEN.

So much to do, and we have to hurry because November only has 30 days!

Slow down.  No need to rush through it.

I've got plenty to do to keep me busy.

I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving week/weekend.

And, of course, seeing "White Christmas" the musical play in San Francisco the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
