There better be plans to do a haineshisway.com gathering to see Deceit.  We've never had a full-out LA gathering.  Let the plans begin!

Well as I recall we were talking about Jan 13 or 14. Is that right?

It is STILL raining. It has rained steadily all day since I got up this morning, and there was already ice on the trees when I got up so who knows how long it has been precipitating.

Rain with surrounding freezing temperatures does not make for the most pleasant stiuation. I went to lunch, but it was ghastly running from the car into the restaurant and back out again.

Since I was a very little boy, I've had Coke to settle my stomach. 7-Up didn't do it for me; Coke did.

I finished MOONRAKER. Just as ridiculous as I remembered it being, but some of those explosions were surprisingly powerful in the repurposed Dolby Digital 5.1 sound created for the DVD.

I was relieved it was still able to be played. I guess I'll try LIVE AND LET DIE at some point over the next few days.

Then, I put in SCROOGE. I am experiencing all of my holiday films for the first time on the new TV this season, and I'm impressed with how they have all looked up to this point. SCROOGE looked and sounded wonderful.

I got through the hauntingly beautiful "Happiness" and then shut things down to be restarted later today.

I'm currently listening to Ms. Mae West sing the Beatles' "Day Tripper." It certainly IS a trip!

Good Afternoon!

Ah... The workout - and the good sweat - was just what I needed.  Whew!  *I also needed to "atone" for a bit of dessert I had last night.  ;)

All the opening night presents are labeled and sorted into various bags, and I'm all cleaned and showered and dressed for tonight.

My friend Justin and his partner, Kevin, are on their way over, and we're going to grab dinner before heading into the theatre for the evening's festivities.

-I actually think I'm getting excited.

Oh!

Just read a very nice review of Our Very Own Rebecca Luker on nytimes.com.  She's playing at Feinstein's this week.  Sounds like a wonderful program.

I hate the Internet.  Just heard from Pogue that he made a very long post and then got "this page is unavailable" and lost the whole thing.  Again, if making a long post, always highlight it and push ctrl C on your keyboard (or on a Mac - apple C).  That saves it, and if you lose the post all you have to do is push ctrl V or apple V and voila.

Why have we slowed to a crawl?  As my close personal friends, Babs and Donna once said, "Enough is enough!"  I'm still queasy.  Nursing a 7-Up at the moment.  I bought some Saltines, but even looking at the box is unappetizing right now.  I haven't eaten in over twenty-four hours (twenty-seven to be exact) - I suppose I should try to get something down me after rehearsal.  What would be bland and cause me no grief?

Last February, while in tech for "Seussical' and in the middle of the week of "seussical concerts for youth", I eat some bad pesto at my grandmothers.  I spent 3 hour-long performances of "Seussisal" in agony.  I never tossed anything, but I remember hanging onto the keyboard with one hand and playing with the other in order not to fall over in pain.  I did miss the evening tech, though as I went home to try and recover.  It's not pleasent, and recently I likened having food poisening to having lower back pain.  I think the food poisening is worse.

It was a bit chilly here in Salem this morning also...19 degrees and a bit frosty!

Digger the dog is staying with me for the weekend. Freddy is not thrilled, but is dealing with.

Digger the dog, I like that name.

TOD, I can't recall if I've ever had food poisoning.  I do remember once in my senior year in high school telling my mom that my hangover was food poisoning.

White rice?  Just plain white rice?  No butter?  Blechhh.  How about crackers and cheese (saltines and cheese)?

Ben, your contingency plan for getting to the airport sounds horrible.  I hope there isn't a strike so you can just hop into a car and go.

What do other new yorkers think about this 4 people to a car to get into the city rule?  Are they trying to make things worse under the guise of trying to encourage people to carpool?  At my internship, we were trying to come up with carpooling plans to get up to the Bronx, some of us are in Manhattan and some are in Brooklyn, but those in Brooklyn with cars don't have the requisite number of people to get into Manhattan to pick the rest of us up to get into the Bronx.  So potentially none of us will get to work when the means to get all of us there do exist.

Thankfully it won't be an issue for me until Monday, tomorrow I'm only scheduled to work at GMHC and they already have coverage in case of a strike.  Sorry if this has already been discussed to death on the board.  I have been e&t the last few days...

Oh yeah... forgot the butter, the butter is a must.  But anything "white" is good for this sort of thing.

Vixmom, if it makes you feel any better, I too am way behind on my holiday planning. I just got the holiday cards out, but I still have a ton of gifts to mail out, cookies to bake, shopping to do, and my entire apartment to clean in preparation for having some folks over on Sunday.  What was I thinking!!??
