TPunk I will check the “cute” link later.  I regret I didn’t get to meet your cuties when I was in NY.

SWW I’m so pleased you liked King Kong since are going to see it this weekend.  My vote was for Narnia, just seems like a better movie for this time of year.  Our friends want to see Kong, so Kong it is.

I just finished my last piece of birthday ice cream cake.  Earlier I had fresh pop-corn compliments of Keith and his commercial pop-corn maker.  Pop-corn at the movies is a must for him, even if it is bad pop-corn.

I got a book from the library today....long pause while Elmoore3003 picks himself up off the floor...the book was a special order from another library, THE PICTORIAL HISTORY OF INDIAN (Bollywood) CINEMA...

That thump you just heard was Elmoore throwing himself on the floor.

I am re-reading David Copperfield, all 800 plus pages.  This time around it is taking me much longer than usual to read, but then I know how it ends.

I'm off to makes some popcorn. Jolly Time microwave. I hate the prepackaged microwave popcorn, but somehow I got some and must eat it up....

I think I may see Kong tomorrow. It got a fabulous review here from a critic friend (is that an oxymoron) who was burned out on doing reviews. So It's a shocker he was that entertained.

I am just waiting for my pain meds to kick in.  I took them at 8pm, so I am a bit surprised to still be awake at 10:45pm.

My throat feels great when I take them.  But unfortunately my throat was really hurting last night and today.  Much more than when I was at the doctor's office yesterday morning.

I just hope I don't wake up in pain tomorrow since I just took my last 2 pain meds.

Very sorry to read about John Spencer. He was a fine actor. I'm glad he won an Emmy during his years on THE WEST WING.

I found a used copy of the first OKLAHOMA DVD (the non-anamorphic Todd-AO version), bought it, and watched a bit of it tonight.

Breaks my heart to see how much more colorful and sharp this version is compared to what was recently foisted off on an undeserving public. Of course, I put in the laserdisc and did comparisons - the DVD is a touch sharper, but the laserdisc's sound was recorded at a louder pitch.

Unless Fox rectifies its error, this will be the OKLAHOMA I watch when I want the Todd-AO version. It's good enough.

Then, I watched KINSEY. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Wonderful performances and what a cast! I had NO idea so many well known people were in this, some playing relatively minor roles: Tim Curry, Lynn Redgrave, Kathleen Chalfant.

What a fascinating and unusual life.

And then I finished the evening with LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT. They've been running repeats in this time slot for the past several months after NBC canceled INCONCEIVABLE, and tonight's was one of my favorite episodes from last season.

I started watching a 1960s Bollywood movie that I thought was going to be a comedy, as it starred two comendians, but turned out to be a drama about Freedom Fighters trying to get the Portugese out of India back whenever that was. It was kind of dull so now I am going to what was going to be weekend Bollywood movie # 2...MAHABHARAT starring muscle man Dara Singh....and since I have never seen a Dara Singh movie that I didn't like, I figure I should enjoy this one!

I joined some of the Damn Yankees earlier today to catch an matinee of "Brokeback Mountain".  A very good movie.  I would love to see it on a big screen - right now, it's running on some very small screens here in DC, and it would be nice to see some of those wonderful vistas on a larger screen.  In any case... I enjoyed the movie.  Very subtle and measured, and possibly too subtle and measured for some people.  But, again, I enjoyed it.  Great performances, and some of the best aging makeup I've seen on screen in a long time.

DR FJL - Thanks for the links to the reviews.  The Washington Post one will most likely be out on Monday or Tuesday.  -Unless it happens to come out tomorrow - which is usually a bad sign - they purposely "bury" bad reviews in the Saturday paper as a sort of act of kindness.  In any case...  We're actually pretty well sold for the next two to three weeks, and after the main reviews come out next week, hopefully, we'll be sold for the rest of the run.

This should be a fun Christmas. All members of the family have now arrived.  I think I shall be shopping for extra honey this week.
