George, do you know that Acapella Manhattan Transfer Xmas cd?

I've just discovered that on Amazon last night!

Yes!  It's a Japan-only release.  It's very good and highly recommended...of course, it's pricey, but very good. ;D

Topic of the Day (most, but not all, have already been mentioned):

Movies:
Easter Parade
Fame
The First Nudie Musical
Forever Female
Gypsy
Shakespeare In Love
Singin' In the Rain
Star Is Born (I've only seen Judy's version)
There's No Business Like Show Business
Victor/Victoria

I bought the laserdisc of "Bullets Over Broadway" on eBay, but I've never watched it.  Should I?

Stage works:
A Chorus Line
City of Angels
Kiss Me, Kate
Noises Off (I played Tim Allgood in a local production!)

Would The Mystery of Edwin Drood count?

Well, I must be off.  My mom is at my sister's house (next door) and then I have to leave to usher for a show.  Our very own Jessica Skerritt is in it!  Here in little ol' Olympia!

BK, I'll tell her you said hi! ;D

BK, I'm glad your tummy is back to normal.

This morning I went for a walk, but since my camera is in the shop, I can't show you the photo of the falcon I didn't take.

The Gal With The Bamboo Blinds won't be here until four.  Why?  Because she somehow wrote down my address incorrectly when I was carefully giving it to her on the phone (she'd already been here once).  Here's what she did: She wrote down the last four numbers of my phone number as my address.  I know.  Not only that, then she wrote down my phone number so she'd have it with her - that she wrote down using my address for the last four numbers.  I know.  Funnily and ironically, when she called the phone number it was the reservation line for the El Portal.  How funny is that?

I shall now eat five Saltines and finish watching a DVD so that I can begin watching another DVD, after which I shall watch another DVD.

Watched more MURDER SHE WROTE this afternoon. One of my favorite episodes - with Jayne Meadows as Lila Lee, a cosmetics tycoon -  was on the disc, and it was wonderful seeing other famous folks like Millie Perkins and Robert Culp.

I then put in a Peanuts special I had never seen: I WANT A DOG FOR CHRISTMAS, CHARLIE BROWN. This one was probably an hour show on the network. It featured the character of Rerun, the younger brother of Lucy and Linus. The later specials were culled from actual strips rather than being written specifically for TV, so there is a more episodic feel to it as opposed to the early (superior) specials.

I have to say that I did like the voices they used in this special (many of the later Peanuts specials didn't have distinctive children's voices for the characters), and I did enjoy it. Not the classic that A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS is, but few shows are.

On this same DVD was the special "The Making of 'A Charlie Brown Christmas'" hosted by Whoopi Goldberg. I do think I had seen at least parts of this show before, but it was interesting seeing the beginnings of Peanuts TV animation. Glad to have this special in my collection.

I remember when DALLAS was on there was a joke going around about a producer pitching a variation on DALLAS called SALAD - wealthy Texans who go digging for oil...and vinegar.

Sorry, that's what some of us found funny in the early 1980's.  :)

It's amazing that "Who Shot JR?" still means something to me. It's difficult to escape from such things.

I recall at the opening night of PIAF, they served salad, and the dressing choice was either Vinegrette or Vinegrette Rien.
