I believe the only TV show I watched this year was Alias, and that would make my worst list.

Thursday, my sister will be visiting my mother (this is the sister that backed out on the deal to have Sam stay with her) but I'm sure Sam will want to see her so she'll most likely be heading for home bright and early.  (which for her is the crack of 10:00 ir 11:00) That's just about right for her first visit here.

Biggest TV disappointments of the year:

"Joey"
"Will and Grace"

Reality:

"American Idol"  -- Carrie Underwood, to me, will never be anything more than an insipid c/w clone of Mariah Carey, who also does nothing for me.

TV Shows...
I really don't watch any other than TAR or BB and I don't think I'd put those on any 10 best list

I do watch Countdown with Keith Oberman regularly and try to catch Real Time with Bill Maher.  I do enjoy Curb Your Enthusiasm. That's about it unless you count  Local on the 8's on The Weather Channel - I do catch that quite often.

Have a terrific Tuesday, all.

I plan on being most rested and well-napped.

I watched "The Odessa File" on TCM this morning.  I am most thankful Andrew Lloyd Webber did not attempt a career at film music composition. There is a nice-ish song, called "Christmas Dreams", sung over the title by Perry Como.  The remainder of Lloyd Webber's "score" is inconsequential muttering.

Ooh!  Ooh!

I almost forgot.

Another favorite "reality"-type show of 2005:

"Project Runway" (as fond of Jay McCool as I was, Kara Saun was robbed!)

'Morning all!

Poor BK.  I know you will laugh at me but I am going to suggest something that might help your tummy.  Charcoal.

I was (and am) having tummy problems but the charcoal tablets settle it right down.

You can get them at a vitiman store.

Well, I need to run some errands before Sam gets here.  I must admit I'm really looking forward to this. It's the first time she's actually wanted to visit me by herself and she's old enough to drive here on her own, so that's all very cool.  We shall have oodles of fun.  I have an Auntie Mame reputation to uphold!

Oh, I figured out how to hook the new DVD player/recorder to the Tivo/TV.  It works wonderful!

It not only plays DVD's but also every type of media that goes onto a CD/DVD.  MP3's, JPegs, etc.  So I have been showing Mom all of the picutres of the trip to NYC and now SLC.

I LOVE it!

I noticed that TNT is tonight beginning their rebroadcasting of the first season of their hit drama THE CLOSER which Kyra Sedgewick. This show got pretty great reviews, but it aired opposite other favorites and just got lost in the shuffle. I think I'm going to sample it tonight.

MattH, I think you will really enjoy this show.  I really liked it and judging from your lists, I think we have pretty similar tastes in the types of programs we enjoy.

Isn't Twiggs one of the judges on Project Runway now?  Or is that some other reality show I'm thinking of?

She's the new judge on America's Next Top Model.  She replaced Janice Dickinson.

Congrats on the house, DR CILLALIZ - and I understand why Dragonwyck won't be its name!  LOL

You could of course call it the Schluss Adler.

Here is my top 10 list of 2005 tv programs:

Medium (which Rodzinski now watches with me)
Project Runway (which we are both addicted to)
The Closer
Grey's Anatomy
Desperate Housewives
Intervention
Alias (yes, it sucks hard this season, but it goes up here for old times sake)

Okay so there are only 7, but those are the only shows that I can say that I make strong effort to watch every week.  I will watch Alias to the bitter end...

Hi JRand!

I know a lot of you got gift cards for Christmas.  I saw something on the news that might interest you.  They said that some of them lose value if you hold on to them.

Interesting since I still have a Barnes and Noble gift card left over from last year.  I should go to the web site and buy something before it expires.

Hmmm...I can't think of many TV shows in 2005 that I would place in a Top Ten other than LOST and THE AMAZIN' RACE.  I tried getting into INVASION and DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, but I lost interest in both as the fall season progressed.  I still prefer watching good old films on TCM over most of the fare offered by the networks.

Glad to see DR RLP mention PROJECT RUNWAY on Bravo....I enjoyed the show as well.  And the new season is running now....Wednesday nights at 10 pm EST.  No favorite designer for me yet, although I have some people I like....  Time will tell.

This year on television (in no particular order):

Nip/Tuck
Project Runway
Ballroom Bootcamp
Two and Half Men
Talk Soup
Law & Order
NCIS

And I will think about three others...hmmm.  Can't add The Amazing Race since they RUINED it this cycle - but maybe it will improve when it returns!

Rodzinski and I have been having a most enjoyable holiday season.  We are comfortably ensconced in his mother's home in St. John, IN.  3 out of his 4 sisters are here and the fourth is getting into town with her family tomorrow, so it is a family reunion of sorts.

We have made it our goal to see a movie every day (a goal which I am doubly committed too after learning that it only costs $6 for showtimes before 6PM!!)  Yesterday was The Family Stone which exceeded my expectations; I thought it was well written, casted and acted.  Today I believe we are going to see Syriana.
