I just got back from braving the weathers here in Olympia...it's gotten quite windy all of a sudden.  When I woke up this morning, it was a little overcast but with some sunlight peaking through.  Then the clouds became more prominent and the wind came and hasn't let up, yet.

I went to Panda Express for food, then went to the Dollar Store that's not too far away from Panda.  I bought some Certs (two bags of 77 candies each...only a dollar a bag), some Panasonic batteries (name brands are good), and three DVDs:  "A Star Is Born" with Janet Gaynor (it says it's "Digitally Remastered," but it's also in color and wasn't it originally a black and white movie??), "My Favorite Brunette" with Bob Hope (it also says it's "Digitally Remastered," but this is in black and white) and finally, "Stage Door Canteen" with Katharine Hepburn (it's also in black and white but it doesn't say anything about any kind of remastering).  We'll see how these all look.

Anyway, everything in the store is a dollar each, or sometimes three for a dollar or two for a dollar, but nothing is more than a dollar. ;)

So, DR RLP - what is happening in this photo?  Is this part of Act One or Act Two?  :D

Isn't that Mother Superior warbling "Climb Ev'ry Mountain"?

Watched another CSI: NY episode, this one involving mafia gangs with a younger generation of hoods. A creepy, unsettling episode.

No, DR George, Janet Gaynor's A STAR IS BORN was one of the early three strip Technicolor films. BECKY SHARP in 1935 was the first three strip feature film, and this was released in 1937.

I then spent a great afternoon enjoying for the umpteenth time THE INCREDIBLES. It is so full of brilliant animation, great action sequences, superb voice talent, and really amazing visuals. The audio was Dolby 5.1-EX, so that back surround channel was as active as the other two surrounds. The music is great for this movie, too.

Of course, if that is Mother Superior, methinks quite a few HHW denizens will be quoting the Bard and getting themselves to a Nunnery.

I probably won't watch that DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES clip show. I watched it last year because I hadn't seen every episode, but I have this season and really don't see the need to watch for myself.

Of course, the show coming on afterward, IN JUSTICE, is just getting a preview here tonight. Its regular timeslot will be Fridays at 9 p.m. on ABC.

Well I'm off to the store to get the ingredients for Jane's fudge.  I usually make the fudge recipe from the Marshmallow Cream Jar, so it will be nice to try a different one

Then I'm going to make some black eyed peas.  Eating them this time of year is supposed to bring good luck.  It's a southern tradition.  My friend Linda, who lives in the lower 9th ward in New Orleans survived Katrina and 2 floods, although she's still living on a cruise ship. Anyway, yesterday she said "Imagine how bad it would have been if I hadn't eaten my black eyed peas!" LOL. Gotta love it.

Jane's Fudge - that's the title of my next novel.

Jane's Fudge is spectacularly good - I still have a few yummilicious pieces left, which I'm doling out slowly.

Good Evening!

Happy 2006!!!!

Greetings from the Green Room.  I was running a little late this morning, so I wasn't able to post before heading out for the matinee.

I started off 2006 with my workout.  And then I stepped on the scale, and... Well...  At least my pants are fitting better... And I actually think I look thinner and fitter...  *I keep thinking that with the way I've been working out and eating that I've been losing at least five pounds a week, so...  I had still lost some weight as of this morning - which, overall, is a very good thing considering a few Christmas parties and meal were in the mix, but still...

However, while sitting in the pit during the matinee, I noticed that my legs and arms felt a bit "firmer" - yes, my hands wander during book scenes, so...

It's all good.

As for New Year's Resolutions...

Well, I sort of got a head start on the whole eating more, exercising more routine the week before Thanksgiving... And I just hope to continue that into 2006.  -Which is why I made sure to work out this morning.  -However, I will be taking tomorrow off.

Otherwise, I have a short term "resolution" of going through my various "boxes of stuff" over the next couple of weeks.  Lots of shredding, lots of filing, lots of purging.  It just HAS to get done!  -All part of the prep for my full-time move back to New York City.  I believe Heloise - or some other household hint guru - has a "five minutes a day" rule - where you set aside five minutes each day to organize something - a drawer, a shoebox, etc.  So, I will be going through my file boxes... and, hopefully, get through two boxes a day.

Other than that... I'm just hoping to continue what I was working on last year... Be more positive.  See the good in all people.  Not be so hard on myself.  Better myself.  -And let that "bettering" influence the people around me - either directly or indirectly.

:)

Congrats to BK for his much-deserved Krtizerland accolades.  Guy needs radio play!

PennyO, the town is Lexington, Kentucky...but I can actually throw a wider net as both Louisville and Cincinnati are close by as well.

And Indianapolis isn't beyond a couple of hours drive, either!

My 3 month old niece cracks me up.  For the past few weeks she has been laughing and smiling like crazy. But lately (and perhaps it's because she has been under the weather) she doesn't laugh for me.

So yesterday my dad was taking a video of me and her. I was singing her a song she likes. Normally she cackles throughout. But yesterday she just stared off into space, not even a smile. And i looked like a big fool. Watching it back is even funnier.  My sis said she doesn't like the camera.  But I think she just didn't want to laugh for me!
