Tomorrow, I want to start with A FOREIGN AFFAIR and then watch HOSTAGE. If there is time left, I may put in HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN.

Well we have pretty much had the week from hell, due to tech stress, which is a term Betsy and I are trademarking.  :)

On top of the DirectTV install, the new cell phones not working, our landlines getting shut off (thanks Qwest), and the DSL installation, it has been very stressful.

Add to that (as I emailed to JR), I have been indefinitely banned from editing at Wikipedia.  You heard it here first, DRs.  Why, you may ask?  Because I had the audacity to correct repeated mistakes made to the Farmer article there made by an "Admin," who is evidently a 20-something Swiss woman who has determined she is the world's expert on the subject, which is fine, if only she would stop making so many stupid mistakes.  Add to that that she then wholesale cribbed large sections of my "Shedding Light" article, which violates Wikipedia's Fair Use doctrine, that I warned her to stop and she then claimed I was threatening her.  Believe it or don't she went on to insist I was not Jeffrey Kauffman, had not written the article, and then went on to cite another article which cites my article.  Are ya with me, chillun?

So's anyway, I'm going to go scream underneath the train tracks (a reference I'm sure you all know ;) ).

By the by, BK, I didn't find the LA Weekly review nasty or malevolent, and there are some pullable quotes if you do a little judicious editing.  Remember those Mad magazine movie quotes that, in their entirety, were complete pans, but then they would edit them to only have superlative adjectives for the display ads?  :)

I actually like some of her stuff. Difficult to find up here. Would love to find a clear copy of Over the Rainbow.

I visited her birthplace a few years ago in Little Falls, MN.

I got a gorgeous 1937 Lucille Ball full color rotogravure today that came with some Farmer stuff.  I'll try to scan it and post it tomorrow for a very special Lucy dance.  She actually looks stunningly gorgeous in this shot, and I've never really thought of Lucy as a babe, even in her ultra-glamour days.

It looks like Liza Minnelli in drag, but Judy Garland is better looking.

Good shows today.  The energies seemed a little scattered here and there, but we still continue to have fun.  -Only two weeks left...

an ideal cd:

Bernadette Peters, Christina Ashford, Kristin Chenoweth, and a few other greats thrown in for good measure...

Christina's cid, Temporary Insanity is a love piece of work.

I have several instrumentalists that I also like. The late Derek Bell, Lisa Lynne, Anne Heymann, James Galway, and the group Bond.

Jose quit posting just four posts short of a major milestone.

But DakotaCelt, you can give us a milestone. With just five more, you'll hit your bicentennial.

Today I finally got around to transcribing an interview I did two years ago with an obscure musician. So that gave me a sense of accomplishment.

Bea Arthur's show was a lot of fun this evening...and just a bit on the raunchy side at times!

And golly, I never saw so much silver hair in a theater in my life! I felt like the youngest person there!

Have finished the spaghetti western KILL OR BE KILLED (1967) starring Robert Mark (A.k.a Rodd Dana) and Gordon Mitchell...I tell you I am really beginning to like these Italian westerns!

I am still a little afraid to watch the William Shatner one, however.

Back from a very good show with a practically full house.  Our sometimes problematic actor had a very off night - didn't score one laugh - he's been doing just fine and then tonight he was just in a different play.  I guess his process is kicking in again, and I'll have to kick it out before the matinee.  Also, some low energy weirdnesses sneaking into both Tammy and Matt, despite my notes about it, so we'll have to sit and run things so that they'll know exactly where it's happening.

I must relax for a moment, then write the notes.

JMK: If you think the LA Weekly review isn't that bad, I'm afraid we have very different opinions of what very bad is.  I feel it's an ill-tempered, poorly written review (and he saw the show on a VERY good night) - perhaps you'd feel it was as bad as I do if it were aimed squarely at you or a show of yours.  I saw nothing helpful or redeeming about it, frankly.
