A MIGHTY WIND was an "art house" presentation here, as well.

But I think my favorites would be:

BONJOUR TRISTESSE
POINT OF ORDER!

And maybe I will think of some more.

Good morning!

Gray again today but at least there's no rain, and it promises to be a bit warmer than yesterday without getting into the spring-like 60s.

I saw BLOW-UP at an art theater (I guess because of the nudity present). I haven't seen it again in years but would like to.

FELLINI SATYRICON was also an art house movie I enjoyed.

I loved A MIGHTY WIND and every song in its score. They're all terrific, the best movie music I've heard in decades.

It can't hold a candle to BEST IN SHOW as a mockumentary, however. I like it even more than THIS IS SPINAL TAP or WAITING FOR GUFFMAN, both of which are also brilliant.

Looking forward to ICE STATION ZEBRA today, at least some of it. Don't know I'll have time to finish the whole thing today before network TV kicks in tonight.

In the sixites it was difficult to distinguish between "Art House", "Foreign Language" and "Cheap Porn". . Perhaps it has not changed that much!
From this we can infer that our beloved DR Elmore is a fan of foreign language and art house films, according to his viewing reports every Friday.

I used to have a friend named Art Christianson, a man of a great bawdy humor and generous nature.  But I don't recall seeing any movies at his house, although I can imagine what sorts of films he would have shown.

He is no longer with us, but I can still hear his laugh.

If we're all very good, maybe we can get BK to tell us the story of the Randy Vicar and the Parson O'Nious!

I watched a film called TOWER OF EVIL last night....hmmmmm

One of the stars was Mr John Hammill, a favorite of producer Herman (TARGET EARTH) Cohen.  Mr Hammill was a "physique" model and does some of what he does best in this 1972 film.  There is also an actor who wears the tightest pants I have ever seen in a movie.

Der Brucer is off being der Grampa all by himself today.  He is taking the grandlads on an exciting trip, to see the dentist!  I, meanwhile, will be at work.

Speaking of which, I had a most rude customer yesterday.

Part of my job is to bag people's groceries, which I am quite speedy at doing.  The customer in question stood there, watching me bag, and started to get quite agetated.  Suddenly, he reached over and grabbed items out of my hands, rearranging them in the bags as I was putting them in, cursing about how I wasn't doing my job right, how I wasn't bagging them correctly because I wasn't bagging the items in the order that he would be putting them on the shelves when he got home!

His lover just stood there, rolling his eyes.  I refrained from asking if my bagging competitor had taken his meds recently.

I don't get many rude customers, but when I do they are doozies.

Today is National Speak Up and Succeed Day.

It is also National Peanut Butter Day.

(Personally, I would suggest swallowing the peanut butter before trying to speak clearly, of course.)

It's Tuesday morning in Oakland CA.

The sun is shining.

It's cool, but will be in the mid-60s this afternoon.

And I'm feeling out of sorts.  I am not parsimonious with the universe.

Last night's "Medium":

SPOILER

SPOILER

SPOILER

I found the ending rather unsettling.  I also felt just a bit "used" or "manipulated" -- her final dream was a full playout of the partial dream she had before reasoning with the mother to make the difference in her son's life.

Did that mother have the full dream and, realizing it would take her death to save her son, kill herself with an overdose?

Or....???

It makes me think, even now...but I was left wanting to know a bit more about the mother's part in all the doings.

NO SPOILER!!

Did I understand correctly at the end that the series has only two more episodes?

the nudity present--that's the title of my next art house film.

What does the term "white trash" mean/imply to you?
