Hmmm, got a nice lot of motion picture entertainments from Something Weird Video..a couple of obscure 1960s Italian spy films and a handful of films featuring much of the cast of GOLDILOCKS AND THE 3 BARES!  :-X

Oh, stop it. I need those movies for research purposes for somebody I hope to interview.

Really.

Mike, have you ever thought of trying to interview Jack Larson, who played Jimmy Olsen on the TV version of SUPERMAN.  He has had a very very very (that's 3 verys) interesting life!

I briefly saw that DREAMGIRLS picture in the Daily News about a week ago, but couldn't find it online. Thanks for posting it. I think they look fabulous, though Beyonce looks slightly stoned...

I got two brand new used Record Albums at the Goodwill Store today:

The Mitchell Trio (on Mercury) - Typical American Boys

I love this album.  DR Ben and I are big fans of the Michell Trio.

And Mr Larson knows our BK, I believe.

All right, I'm feeling achey and groggy, which isn't a song from ON A CLEAR DAY YOU CAN SEE FOREVER, so I'm going to go to bed with SISTER CARRIE, which reminds me a bit of NANA, Zola's (Balzac's? I always forget) whore with a heart of tin, only Dreiser's Carrie Meeber is not so manipulative, and maybe not so whorish, but they both become actresses, and it's a picture of 19th-Century theatre, which is why I'm reading it.  Oy!

Nursie Jane, how did you like BLEAK HOUSE?

Good Evening!

Thanks for the Travel Vibes!

Thankfully, I'm actually a little sleepy already, so I should be able to get at least five hours of sleep before heading to the airport in a couple of hours.  -I tend not to be able to sleep on planes, so...

And my sniffles have also subsided too... And I think what allergens are present in the theatre are "up" again... A bunch of people had sniffles today... And just sniffles... But once we leave the theatre... No Sniffles... Hmm...

DR Jason - Remember, if you do come down this weekend, you would be coming in as a representative of MTI - who happens to license Damn Yankees, so...

I'll check to see if the red carpet is back from the cleaners.

One of my cherished souvenirs from my trip to Australia two summers ago was a didjeridoo.  It's sitting in my storage unit right now, but, otherwise, it's beautifully decorated, and it's pitched at a low F-sharp (which is the 'traditional' pitch for didjes).  And, boy, does it take a lot of air control and pressure to get that thing humming!

And now I must get ready for bed...

I'm still not sure if I'll be bringing my laptop with me tomorrow - I'm just not sure when I'm going to have time to post, so...  If I "see" you guys tomorrow, I'll see you... Otherwise, I'll be back Friday night.

Goodnight.

Thanks for the DREAMGIRLS pic, DR JRand. I have my fingers crossed that this movie will live up to the stage version.

For those who haven't seen it yet:

THere's something not quite right about Beyonce's do--it doesn't say early 60s to me.

I did watch the IDOL auditions tonight. One or two very talented vocalists along with a lot of manufactured drama and angst. But I will be on the lookout for some of these folks once the second phase of auditions moves to Hollywood.

LOST had one of the less interesting episodes for me tonight. This one centered on Charlie and delusions he's been having. His backstory was only of moderate interest last year, and this year's extension of it didn't improve matters for me (though it did go to show his concern for the welfare of newborn babies).

Better more searing drama came courtesy of tonight's INVASION which gave us a backstory, too, this one of Sheriff Tom Underlay. Had no idea we were going to see the beginnings of the love affair between Tom and Marial, but here it was, and it was spellbinding. Great little romantic surprise at the end, too.

Jose: I had totally forgotten that I'd be MTI's representative. I wonder what that means, exactly... Too bad MTI wouldn't offer to pay for me to go down there!

I do know, however, that it means that they'd have to arrange a comp seat for me.

And tomorrow, as part of the horseracing I do so enjoy (and some others obviously don't), I'll be watching tonioght's episodes of VERONICA MARS, BONES, and CSI: NY.

Oh, yes, I love Jack Larson, but he has been interviewed several times already so I don't think I could find any new angle for which to do a story on him.

Back from the Jay Johnson show, about which more later.  But I am shocked, shocked, do you hear, to see no postings since nine o'clock.  What is THAT about?  I've heard of WUSSBURGERS but this is a full-blown double WUSSBURGER WITH CHEESE.  I am shocked, shocked, do you hear?

Thank you assorted and sundried Hainsies and/or Kimlets. We have RAIN. I hope it is enough to quench the fires to some  extent.

I'm here...for now.  I'm getting ready to go to bed.

My niece got a couple of tickets to see preview screening of some movie tomorrow night, but it's in Seattle.  I said that I'd take her, but I don't know exactly were it's being shown.  Hilary (my niece) has been there before, so hopefully she'll be able to direct me correctly.  I have no idea what movie it is, but it's supposed to be good.  I don't think that it's a major release, maybe it's an art house film! ;)

The worst part about driving in Seattle is...the driving in Seattle!  Also, I have no idea where we're going, so parking most likely will be an issue.  If it's really "downtown," parking can be expensive.  Since I'll have to leave work early, about 4:00 p.m. (before the rush hour), I want to try to get to work early.  I say that so often and yet, it rarely happens. ::) Anyway, it'll be an adventure. ;D

So, goodnight, Tomovoz and anyone else lurking in the dark. ;D
