Good audition vibes for DRMATTH - hoping you will be there to help send in the clowns.

Yes, DRTCB - thanks for looking, I was indeed THE NERD.  It is a lovely, funny role - and I was about a decade too old for it - I auditioned to play the neighbor and ended up as - his nibs.

We are doing TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD in September and although I have visions of Atticus dancing in my head - I just somehow get the feeling that I will be learning the lines of Mr Bob Euell.

Sioux City is using TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD for their One Book One Siouxland project.  Mary Badham (Scout) will be here to autograph books and talk about making the movie.

DRGINNY sent me some great material about TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD - and I have a nice illustrated Reader's Digest version of the book, and a couple of paperbacks.  If you happen to be standing near Mary and can get a book, DR CILLA LIZ - the Putnam County Playhouse would be glad to buy it from you and display it in THEIR lobby during the run of the show OR borrow it and put your name in the special thanks section of the program....that's certainly a feather in ANYONE'S cap!  ;D

I spent the day in another LONG board meeting.

Just got back from one myself, DR LAURA....I know what you mean.  Some of us have been having the same argument for 20 years.

Which should be closer to the stage:  the shop or the dressing room/green room area?  An informal poll from PCPH.  8)

MR BK I am sure that Miss Chastity will brag to her mother that she sat just one seat away from Mr Bruce Kimmel, of THE FIRST NUDIE MUSICAL.

I'm going to a fundraising dinner where she will be present, she is also going to be at 2 libraries signing books and will be signing books after 2 or 3 of the showings of the movie at the Orpheum (I've never seen it on the big screen, so this should be cool) I'm sure I can get you a book.  This isn't until April 22.  Send me an IM with exactly how you want it inscribed and I'd be happy to get it for you. From what I see on the internet she goes all over the country speaking about this. Maybe you could invite her and tie it into a fundraiser for the playhouse

On TCM tonight - the Gish sisters in ORPHANS OF THE STORM....  My first introduction to this film was on FRACTURED FLICKERS, so I am sure I do not have the appreciation of it I might - but I do enjoy it.  Even without Hans Conreid.

TOD:

If you haven't seen it - don't let the cast put you off - one of my favorite fantasy movies EVER is called THREE WISHES with Miss Mary Elizabeth Mastrentonio and Mr Patrick Swayze.  MEM is terrific and Mr Swayze gives a very subtle and thoughtful performance.  If you have never seen it, and like your movies touched with wonder and fantasy and a tear-up ending....THREE WISHES is for YOU!!

I wish I had brought my Lesbian lover with me.  Oh, well.

MBarnum, I believe both Drunken Angel and Scandel recently came out on UK region 2 DVDs.  Wait a mo - Yes, I have Drunken Angel - from BFI in the UK, an excellent DVD.  Eureka, in the UK, put out Scandel, which I'm going to have shortly.

To Putnam County Playhouse will be fine, DR CILLA LIZ.

Thanks....that would be great.  Now...really...now...really....it takes this board a year to choose four shows and make out a list of volunteers to park cars....do you really THINK we could organize a fundraiser?  For 2007...MAYBE!

Ok, REMIND ME!!!!  I'm sure I'll talk about it again when the time nears and I'll write a note, but I'm still getting organized, so there's no guarantee I'll remember where I put the note.  LOL....

Mr BK has a lesbian lover?  You heard it here at HHW first!

What did Miss Barbara Rush have to say?  We are interested in it all!  You know of course that she missed her performance in MAGNIFICENT OBSESSION that was being shown on TCM as she watched the benefit!

I love Barbara Rush -- most of all in STRANGERS WHEN WE MEET....  Nice to hear that she is still lovely - I don't remember ever seeing her name at the "Stars" shows.  Maybe the past isn't her bag!

JRand here's a link to the info on the Sioux City Site about To Kill A Mockingbird. It came from One Book One Chicago, so it may be the same or similar to the info you got from DR Ginny

Thank you to DRs Cillaliz, DakotaCelt, and TCB for the positive thoughts on the audition.

It went very well, and I was especially impressed with the ladies who showed up. Lots of strong women who had great chest voices and also blew the roof off with soprano voices as well.

Not a lot of men showed up. I'm going for Mr. Lindquist, the baritone in the five person ensemble, and I suspect the other men who were there tonight were going after the speaking/singing roles.
