DRMATTH - NBC is all new tonight!

Thanks for the warning! I had checked before any of the shows started just to make sure and saw that THE OFFICE was new and not a repeat. I think it's next week that everything else is new and it's a rerun.

The Pimp Song Boys are set to do THOROUGHLY HOTTER'N MILLIE next, featuring the hit song:

Rap, rap, rap, rap, rap, rap rapioca everybody
Clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clapioca everybody
Any song is crappier
When you do the rap, rapioca

I kid of course, I like a lot of rap, but still, an Oscar?

Before prime time TV started tonight, I watched some of the special features on the HARRY POTTER set. Started with a conversation with the three stars. I have to say with his glasses off and short hair, Daniel Raadcliffe is growing up to be quite the hottie. I was impressed with his expanding chest in the bathtub scene in the film, but even in clothes, he's going to be quite a heartbreaker.

WILL & GRACE had a chuckle or two tonight, but most of it was the gasping, oh-no quality of bad revelations and not particularly funny.

FOUR KINGS made me laugh several times tonight in its ridiculous stories of an iguana and Chinese food. I doubt the show will be asked back for next season, but there was some funny stuff here this week.

Sounds Grace-oriented.

MY NAME IS EARL had a funny script with some great sight gags, a terrific supporting performance by Timothy Olyphant (the serious sheriff on DEADWOOD), and some tender moments as well. This is one of the more likeable episodes of EARL in quite some time.

Pretty much split down the middle with Will and Grace tonight. Jack and Karen were truly peripheral players tonight.

THE OFFICE also mixed comedy and poignancy tonight with aplomb in a story concerning "Daughter's Day" at the office. Carrell is making a case for an Emmy nomination to match the Golden Globe Award he won in January.

Since WITHOUT A TRACE wasn't on tonight, I watched last night's CSI: NY. It was a rerun I had seen earlier in the season, but I re-watched since I couldn't remember how one of the two cases turned out. OK episode, nothing special.

I know. You've all be dying to have the lyrics of that Oscar winner so.....

Chorus 2X: Shug - singing] + (Djay)
You know it's hard out here for a pimp (you ain't knowin)
When he tryin to get this money for the rent (you ain't knowin)
For the Cadillacs and gas money spent (you ain't knowin)
[1] Because a whole lot of bitches talkin shit (you ain't knowin)
[2] Will have a whole lot of bitches talkin shit (you ain't knowin)

[Djay]
In my eyes I done seen some crazy thangs in the streets
Gotta couple hoes workin on the changes for me
But I gotta keep my game tight like Kobe on game night
Like takin from a ho don't know no better, I know that ain't right
Done seen people killed, done seen people deal
Done seen people live in poverty with no meals
It's fucked up where I live, but that's just how it is
It might be new to you, but it's been like this for years
It's blood sweat and tears when it come down to this shit
I'm tryin to get rich 'fore I leave up out this bitch
I'm tryin to have thangs but it's hard fo' a pimp
But I'm prayin and I'm hopin to God I don't slip, yeah

[Chorus]

[Djay]
Man it seems like I'm duckin dodgin bullets everyday
Niggaz hatin on me cause I got, hoes on the tray
But I gotta stay paid, gotta stay above water
Couldn't keep up with my hoes, that's when shit got harder
North Memphis where I'm from, I'm 7th Street bound
Where niggaz all the time end up lost and never found
Man these girls think we prove thangs, leave a big head
They come hopin every night, they don't end up bein dead
Wait I got a snow bunny, and a black girl too
You pay the right price and they'll both do you
That's the way the game goes, gotta keep it strictly pimpin
Gotta have my hustle tight, makin change off these women, yeah

[Chorus]

Glad you liked INVASION as much as I did, DR Ron. And I, too, was thrilled to know the show will be back with four final episodes in April. I'm not expecting it to be renewed, however. Against reruns of CSI: NY and L&O last night, it still finished a distant third in the ratings.

So, I'm going to enjoy whatever is left of its season and be glad for the experience.

When I look at that pathetic excuse for rhyming lines, it just makes me shake my head in disgust. Truly tragic.

Francois - Other languages?  How about translating it into English first?  :)

As my friend Keith loves to say "My how old Fred is getting!"

Don't you love happy stories?
Here's one.... and I believe it was a well-deserving song, "slightly" better than some Pimp one, no?!

An article in the International Herald Tribune of yesterday about "Lion Sleeps tonight" ended that way;

"Some injustices cannot be redressed:
In 2001, Linda's daughter Adelaide died of AIDS at age 38, unable to afford lifesaving anti-retrovial treatment.
"But now it seems we must forgive, because rhey have come to their senses and realized they have made a mistake," Nsele said. "The Bible says you must try to forgive."

"Not "try"," her 17-year-old daughter Zandile corrected.
"It says "forgive"."

Bless her heart!

Now that I'm not remiss, I will say that I have been following NCAA basketball today. A couple good upsets, which is why I enjoy this time of year.

Pogue (and Ashley Judd)'s Kentucky Wildcats play tomorrow.
As do Ginny's Ohio State Buckeyes.
Jed's faves, the Washington Huskies played today and pretty much dominated Utah State.
And that is the HHW sports report.
