~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Super Mega Health Vibes to all of us for the end of 2017 and all of 2018! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
DR JohnG, I've always wanted to see "The Gay Parisian." I believe it's a truncated version of the ballet "Gaite Parisienne," but I don't know if the film uses the Rosenthal ballet score.
There's been much about 2017 that was so good: The New Yorkers was so much fun, the Lerner-Loewe show at the 92nd Street Y, two Ohio trips that included a wonderful party with DR Ginny and a performance of a piece I wrote nearly 50 years ago. I'm often slow to respond, but the HHW folk and their adventures - BK's shows, Nursie's travels Laura's nature photography, TCB's determination to not let anything slow him down - are the nest part of every year.
Although at times I'm not sure yet, I am still pretty sure my best move was the adoption of two quirky, beautiful kittens.
These damned HMO referrals are a pain in the ass. The past 30 minutes have been telephone hell, and I have to postpone the epidural follow-up next Wednesday because I need another damed referral, which could take up to five days to process.
Opted against seeing The Big Sick at this time. Just not in the mood for that. Go figure.
I hope the follow up is not urgent. Do you think it worked?
Encore on a beautiful wish.
PBS was showing this this afternoon and it now has me all excited about this BBC series.
~~~Vibes of All Kinds for EVERYONE!!~~~
Surgery preparation vibes for John G!
Sue Grafton has died. She only make it through Y in her mystery series.
Certainly the most important blessing for the HHW community in 2017 is Jrand's doing so well!
Surgery preparation vibes for John G!
From me, too.

Glad to hear that Neve and the other kitties are doing well. They may have to think about taking part-time jobs.
Levi has been nominated for three Robby Awards - one for Marc Ginsburg for Best Actor, one for costume designer Morgan Gannes, and one for the Sherman Brothers for Best Score. And two Kritzerland shows are up for Best Cabaret.

I have a couple ideas what Vixmom's surprise may be, but I'll keep them to myself for now.
Page Two Carpet Dance.
DR LAURA here is a photo posted by my friend Andrew who is in Las Vegas -- he says this is the saddest casino in town...the saddest carpet to be sure.

DR GINNY the snow started here about 90 minutes ago. They are calling for 1-3 inches.....but it seems like there may be more. It is a very fine and slick snow....so BE CAREFUL.

We each started with 3 dollars and you throw the dice and you have to pass a dollar Left or right or throw it in the pot in the center or...if you get a dog you get to keep it.
I hope Vixmom wins enough next time to retire.
Back from bank and market. It is brutal outside. I'm going back to bed.

I’m having a problem understanding the current movie I’m watching. But that’s because it’s in Italian with Spanish subtitles. Michelangelo Antonioni and a spoof of moviemaking. Very amusing, somewhat confusing.
And now, I must be off. My niece's aunt is having a retirement party and I was invited, so I'm going. I don't know how long it'll last, but I would expect not too long.
Be back later.
We met at Azteca by the Tacoma Mall.
Oh, sorry, George.
Gratuitous post 153

Well, Valerie's retirement party wasn't much of a party. There were about 25 people total. I didn't know any of her co-workers. When I got there, everyone was just sitting around a large table waiting for food. I got there a little late, so I hope that there had been some socializing. Otherwise, I sat with my family, then we all were just sitting there waiting for the food. We all pre-selected what we wanted to eat when we RSVP'd. I chose the pasta primavera. It wasn't bad (not great), but there was a lot of it. Leftovers! We all ate, chatted, watched gifts being opened, a few stories were told, ate cake (that was good), then people started leaving. I left after the first few people did, but there were more than half still there. It was a nice-ish (for me, anyway) evening, and Valerie seemed to really enjoy it, and that's what's really important. :)
We just watched WIND RIVER.
It's a good film. My wife and I enjoyed it.
However, I think we would have enjoyed it much more if we could have understood more of the dialogue.
This is a perfect example of the problem with movies these days.
I don't know if it's the fault of the actors, the director, the person recording the sound, or all of them, but there are so many films that have been released the past few years where you have to struggle to understand the dialogue. The same problem exists on some dramatic television shows, but not as much as in theatrical movies.
Last night, we watched THE RACKET, which was released in the early 1950s. Every word of dialogue was crystal clear.
I guess this is one of the reasons why I avoid most of today's movies.

Where was the party held?
Azteca was good, although I wouldn’t order the same thing again.

You're not alone with that opinion, Druxy. BK has been ranting about that problem for years.
I had the enchiladas ranchera with ground beef. I just wasn’t crazy about the ranchera sauce.

Yes, BK has - makes you wonder where certain people have been and why they are always late to the partay.

I like enchiladas but I've never had enchiladas ranchera. What's that?
