Well, you've read the notes, the notes were learned, and now it it time for you to post until the learned, jogging cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: OMNIFARIOUS!
-
Today, I get to sleep in and then I have the matinee, then we're done until Friday.
-
Off to bed now.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning to all
-
Good morning!
-
Good morning, all.
-
But try not to get too excited, because I’m afraid that’s all I got!
I’m mostly consumed with trying to get a tree person to talk to me. This is “Eureka!” time for them, while the rest of us are in desperation mode.
-
This afternoon — just because I can — I’m going out to see another test screening in the theater Robert Harris is working on: North by Northwest in Vista Vision 4K. The curtain isn’t up yet, but the jernt is coming along beautifully and the picture and sound will be incredible.
-
In other news, the crews have been working like crazy and we’re “supposed” to have our power restored by this afternoon. That in itself will take a lot of stress off things, so let’s hope it comes to pass.
-
Bye for now!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I fed the cats at 6:30 and went back to bed, Now I have a lot of kitty issues to tidy up today. Thatch has become an aggressive litter tosser, so the area around the litter box looks like a war zone. It will take some time as well to pick up all the toys before I vacuum.
-
Surprise vibes for DR MICHAEL.
Interesting notes geographically speaking.....in my area, narrow, LONG lots were used for mobile homes.....
-
So to attract the young folks here, maybe we should refer to it as HHW Bar.
-
Now I want to listen to my WSS in Jazz CD....
-
Today my sisters and I are going to do some yard work - if it doesn't rain.....maybe we will transplant my Monarch Milkweed from the container they are into the ground.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Vibes for TCB.

Fun time, just what you need :)

Vibes it does! I know what it is like to be without power and water and heat or air.
-
I guess my wife and I are both getting slow in our old age. Neither of us realized that the opening of last night's SNL was a spoof of THE SOPRANOS.

I do, too, and it ain’t fun. But thanks to the generator, we do have those things.
Meanwhile, they’re still at it down there.

The apartment is finally tidied as well as it can be with two crazy cats, and I'm ready for a lie-down.
-
DR ChasSmith, I'm happy your social life is picking up again. I hope everything is resolved soon to your satisfaction.
-
Now that I've opened the linen closet door, Annabelle has retired to her old haunts when the apartment gets too chilly. She and Thatch were playing in it this morning, and she's been sleeping there while I tidy up.
-
Sunday afternoon greetings! Travel prep continues here and I'm making progress.
-
I'm up, I'm up - I was up at eight due to active brain syndrome (ABS). I got up then, did some stuff on the computer, then went back to bed at nine but due to some noisy kiddies next door did not fall back asleep. At eleven I'm giving corrections on a chart then going back to bed.

I always wanted a generator when we lived in Ashland. We just toughed it out when we lost power. Fortunately we were never without longer than some of our long stretches when we lived in Michigan. At least our second home there still had water when the power went out.

Am I correct in thinking we're still on page one?

We have 3 lovely ponds at our condo complex. In the spring the swans build a nest and think they are going to have babies. Poor things. They normally are calm when people walk past them, however, during nesting season they tend to get nervous and the male is protective of the female.
We have an excellent view of the nesting area. It is shocking how many people find it acceptable to walk up to the swans to see them better or to take photos. The swans are obviously bothered by this which upsets us very much. It took all my self control not to go out and yell at the woman, on her knees up close to them, taking photos.
-
>:(
-
The swans have calmed down now and the male isn't guarding the female and nest anymore :)

Here's the photo of Chris's wife with JoJo, the puppy they adopted yesterday.
-
Good afternoon.
-
Barely page 2?
-
I hope this isn't a sign on how the day is going to go.
-
Today I seem to be on a loop.
-
Bedroom to bathroom to living room / kitchen and back to bedroom.
-
The first time up was not until after eight o'clock.
-
Surprisingly, Nick didn't try to wake me until then.
-
The second cycle started at about 10:30 a.m.
-
My head is stuffed up and I feel a little woozy.
-
I had coffee, but it did nothing for me except warm me inside.
-
I have no daytime cold or flu medicine, so I think I will settle for sleep.
-
Until later. Good bye.
-
Hope you feel better soon, TCB!
-
Here's the photo of Chris's wife with JoJo, the puppy they adopted yesterday.
JoJo is adorable!
-
DR Jane--To answer your question from yesterday, it was quite gloomy all day as I recall, though I didn't actually go out! Today it's partly sunny.
-

JoJo is adorable!
Indeed. Pretty puppy.
-
We had some rain last night, maybe even a little hail. It's good for the plants. I picked the first two pattypan squashes this morning.
-
I assisted Joy in teaching a class for AARP today. They put her on a stage in the sun and tried to get her to teach salsa, which is a couples dance. There were no couples. It was so hot there were very few people.
She quickly ended up teaching them line dancing.
-
After 40 minutes of moving in the heat, we were done for. They let her go, even though she was supposed to teach an hour.
-
I've started watching the Merchant-Ivory movie, Jane Austen in Manhattan. Not a great effort, but Anne Baxter is fun. Sean Young, Elmore's favorite, appears in her first film.
-
Jojo is cute pup for sure!
-
Weeds gone and flower bed cleaned up.....we had ONE extra new solar light, so I put it out back next to Precious' resting place....
Milkweed transplanted....and we've already had one tiny hummingbird who was very interested in it!
-
I shall get some photographic evidence after the hockey game - which is tied right now.
-
I am also working on the sound cues for The Mousetrap.....
-
Sweet photo DR elmore.
-
DR TCB I am sorry you are sick again. Vibes you will be fine after a good sleep.
-

Thank you for the weather report. At least it isn't raining.

Neve doesn't toss the litter but once in a while (maybe once every couple of weeks, but still MUCH too often for me) her pee lands outside the litterbox. :P

Bedroom to bathroom to living room / kitchen and back to bedroom.
~~~Continued Vibes for TCB!!~~~
Up again - I finally got back in bed around one, fell asleep around one-thirty and got about ninety minutes. It's now just a bit too late to do the jog and I'm thinking a day off isn't a bad thing and I'll be good at dinner. But maybe I'll be inspired this evening and do it then. New track is really good.
-
The show is going well. Edna did forget to give me (as the king in disguise) a cassarole, but it wasn't an important or foreshadowing moment...just a moment.
-
After the show, I'm going to my sister's for a while, then I can go home.
-
Our next show won't be until Friday. Four nights off! Hoo and ray!
-
On a sad note, Patricia Morison, Original Kiss Me, Kate Star, Dies at 103 (http://www.playbill.com/article/patricia-morison-original-kiss-me-kate-star-dies-at-103). :(
And now...back to the show!
It is a nice article and I enjoyed the video.
Would she have been better than Kathryn Grayson in the movie version of "Kiss Me, Kate"
A cutie!
The show's over and now, to my sister's.
I'm thinking she would have been better DR JANE.
-
I am now going to attempt to hook my turntable to my CD player shelf system.....
-
I'm thinking she would have been better DR JANE.
That was my impression from watching her.
-
Page 3? Really?
-
This does not bode well.
-
The sun finally cam out this afternoon, and will again Tomorrow.
-
Hi, Jane.
-
I slept until after five o'clock.
-
Poor Nick was patiently waiting for dinner.
-
I fed him and then had my Freshly meal.
-
I had the Penne Bolognese.
-
I guess I liked it more than BK did. I suppose it could have used more salt, but I never add any.
-
One more post.
-
Page 4
-
I'm home
-
Just had to share. :)
-
After the show, I went to my sister's. She wanted me to swap out a light fixture in her bedroom for a new fan, but I've never put in fans. The instructions say that you need to confirm that the light box is attached to a joist in the ceiling and can handle at least 35 pounds of weight. :o I think that that's above my pay grade, so I didn't feel confident in putting up the fan. She said that that was okay and she'll hire someone who has experience in putting in fans. Whew!
-
I did change a lightbulb, so it wasn't a total waste of my time. She had some leftover Costco cheese pizza, so it REALLY wasn't a waste of my time! ;D
-
After I left her house, I actually went to Costco and got some diet Pepsi to take to work (for myself). I have some in our staff room fridge, but it was all that I had. I needed to replenish my stash.
-
Now I'm home and have the rest of the evening to myself!
-
Hoo and Ray!
-
Patricia Morison was a force of nature. When she was 101 I saw her do I Hate Men and she was amazing. Nothing sad about living to 103 - what a life!
-
Back from a nice meal at Maria's Eyetalian Kitchen here in the Oaks of Sherman. I had the penne with sausage and peppers - pretty large portion and I could only eat half, so I took the rest home and will eat it at some point this evening. I was a super good boy and had no bread and none of the Tiramisu everyone shared at the end of the meal.
-
What is this page four malarky?
-
Page Four Malarky - that's the title of my next novel.
-
I'm thinking about an evening jog, which I'd do around seven-thirty if I'm feeling so inclined.
-
At this moment I am not feeling so inclined but that could change.
-
I like the Patricia Morrison story about the revolving stage....she was in a particular show. I thought it was Me & Juliet, but she is not listed in the cast for it......
One night early on, she had to jump out of the way of a moving set and landed in the orchestra pit....the audience reacted wildly to her antics. She did it again the next night to even greater reaction.
She was met backstage by the producer who threatened to fire her if she did it a third time.....she did not.
I'm not a Kathryn Grayson fan, so I would think that a tabletop would have been better in Kiss Me, Kate.
Exactly.
-
I remember her in one of the later Thin Man movies.
Spoiler Alert;
I think it was Song of the Thin Man. She was the murderer.
-
Back to Jane Austen in Manhattan. It's not top-drawer Merchant-Ivory.
-
I made a really good tomatillo avocado salsa this evening. Was wonderful by itself with chips or on top of the burgers we had before Bible study.
-
Tonight we watched an interesting documentary called 500, about the effects of the Reformation over the past 500 years. Fascinating lines stretching from Luther's ideas of separation of church and state to U.S. history.
-
I'd been hoping to get a ticket to "My Fair Lady" on Liza Doolittle Day, today, the 20th of May. Felt like ti could be special or fun.
The only available seats had been premium. But it turned out Lauren Ambrose had to miss this weekend, so it's probably best that I hadn't gotten a ticket.
-
I think it was Song of the Thin Man. She was the murderer.
I remember that pop hit "Oz never did give nothing to The Thin Man, that he didn't already have."
So, in the Washington Post obit for Ms. Morison, there's a story of how Yul Brenner tried to bed her. She went into his dressing room one night and he was sitting nude in a lotus position.
I guess we have to include him on the #MeToo list, even if they did end up friends.
-
Off to bed.
-
Good night, all.
-
Well, maybe after a page turn.
-
One more.
-
Five!
-
I have to go to Lowe's tomorrow to get the special Poison Ivy killer....since it is growing in abundance on the north side of my house.....and on my crab apple tree.....
-
Did the three-mile jog. Have been toying with what would or will be the final song I need to write, and half of it came to me about halfway through the jog and then trying to remember all those lines for a mile-and-a-half was, well, amusing? I did, though, and got them all written down.
-
I am too pooped to pop and I'll stop right there. I shall now eat the remainder of my dinner, whilst zoning out on the couch like so much fish.
-
Poor Nick was patiently waiting for dinner.
Sweet boy.
I'm not a Kathryn Grayson fan, so I would think that a tabletop would have been better in Kiss Me, Kate.
I thought Morison was terrific in the video and decided to find one with Grayson singing the song. What a shame Morison was not in the film.
Is that like a creamy guacamole?
If they ended up friends I am guessing she never felt threatened.
-
DR TCB feel better and sleep well tonight.
-
I'm watching the last episode of "Rise." It's been cancelled, so what was originally the season finale actually became the series finale.
-
They're performing quite a bit of the actual music of Spring Awakening.
-
The TV series was based on a book called "Drama High: (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00C5R7BY4/) The Incredible True Story of a Brilliant Teacher, a Struggling Town, and the Magic of Theater."
-
Well, time for bed. I have to work in the morning.
Good night and have a good day, all!
