A crunchwrap supreme is a kind of rectangular thing they put in a thing to make the thing outer tortilla thing hot and crunchy - the innards are lettuce, tomato, sour cream, and their taco meat.

I had a long dream about the late John McGlinn last night, in which he was looking for a project to take to the BBC, and I had suggested the flop musical The Young Visiters.  Like "The Man Who Came To Dinner," I could not get him to leave.  This was tied in with a summer theatre/broadcasting/whatever situation where I had mentioned several actors I was working with in an interview, and the actors I had forgotten to mention were pissed off.  My last image from the dream is a crowd of people and John MvGlinn, wearing the dark T-shirt and khaki shorts he wore all summer of 2001 in London, mingling with the crowd.

I have no idea what prompted this dream, buit it sure stuck in my memory.  These days, I've forgotten them as soon as I wake up.

Title: Re: THE LATE SHOW
Post by: ChasSmith on November 21, 2018, 05:27:02 AM
We’re having a quiet one this year. The usual couple of people who would normally join for a
li’l Thanksgiving repast aren’t able to do so this time, and frankly that’s fine by me. We’re still preparing dinner, but as a day of relative rest it will be most welcome.

Yesterday I went to OLLIE'S OUTLET and bought a Himalayan Salt Lamp for myself and one each for two of my sisters.....on sale for $9.99.....

My question for ASK BK DAY:

Now that they have sold Television City, they are saying they will move the shows they do there.....eventually.....to their CBS Studios....is that the old Republic Studio/Studio Center that is near your old house?

Is anyone living in your old house yet?

Yes, CBS Radford, where I shot my very first pilot back in January of 1971.  I'm told the Studio City house is occupied.

Goddam Facebook to hell!  I cannot do any animal rescue networking, and the  one-year old puppy I've been trying to save for the past two days was murdered this evening at the Manhattan Animal Care Center.  I won't even go into all the whys and wherefores the incompetent and inhumane asses running the ACC decided on a rapid assessment to never make this pup available for adoption or to decide to murder him after being in the shelter for only three days. The reason for his murder was "behavioral concerns"; he was frightened and depressed after being abandoned and wasn't dancing fast enough to the ACC's tune.  He was an adoptable pup and they decided he was dead meat.

The only video of him - and they do not videotape all the animals, which should be done for a record and publicity - was released two days ago, after he was placed on the euthanasia list.  He was in the Manhattan shelter but they never put him on their online adoption lists.

Back from our rehearsal.  Assembling the show took all three hours because we only had two-and-a-half due to the continual lateness of one performer.  Can't have that on Monday as we only have two hours to do a complete run-through and do fixes.

DR elmore I am sorry about Uni.  When you say you network on Facebook how does that work?  Are you referring to sharing these stories and hoping one of your friends adopts the pet or do you have a connection with no kill rescue groups and/or people who foster?

Another A Carol Christmas review.  This one's a little over the top, but I'll take it :)  http://atthetheatrewithradomirluza.com/blog/

I just noticed a mistake.  The reviewer wrote:  "Kay Cole’s choreography is staunch, nimble and full of grace and feeling.  The director and choreographer of the film, “Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks” seems to let the actors add their own input and imagination into the dance sequences, numbers and steps only making them that much more real, defined and sensitive to the music."

According to the IMDb Full Cast & Crew Listing (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1670994/fullcredits/?ref_=tt_ov_st_sm), Kay is only the choreographer, not the director, too.  But still it's a love letter...and still over the top. ;D

Correct, she only choreographed.  Just to be clear - she only choreographed two numbers in A Carol Christmas.  All the other musical staging is by li'l ol' me :)

I shall now be on my way to see a musical I really do not want to see - the good news is, that like A Carol Christmas, it's in one act and ninety minutes.

And I'm now leaving work to go back to my sister's.  I just need to help move some heavy furniture this time.  Fortunately, we don't have to move it far, just across the floor within the same room.

Until later!

Wednesday evening greetings from Normal, Illinois!  Richard and I had a smooth, but too long, drive over here and got settled into our hotel.  Then we went to my niece’s for dinner with her and her parents (my sister and her husband).  We visited for a while and synchronized our watches for tomorrow before my Eastern time zone body told me it was time to crash.  I won’t be awake much longer...

Yes, season 6. I watched the first episode. The tone is slightly different from previous seasons, but the same characters and, as always, lots happening.

Have you had any of your friends adopted a pet you have shared or have any of the rescue groups taken any of them?  Of course I realize even if it hasn't happened yet it still can in the future.

Back from seeing a new musical.  It was just what I thought it would be - a vanity production on which was lavished a HUGE amount of money for a three-week run in which the producers will lose every cent.  I would have to imagine they probably spent $350,000 to 500,000 on this.  It's about Ronald and Nancy Reagan meeting at Chasen's and their relationship up until they marry.  Scenes with wretched songs scotch taped to them - there's no real reason for this to exist - maybe as a play, but the songs do nothing and are just bad.  Some of the laziest and worst rhymes I've ever heard.  Fella and tell ya.  Sorry, F for fail.  There's nothing compelling going on and the ninety minutes seemed like three hours because the show has no momentum.  I can only say that people slave over musicals to MAKE them musicals - real musicals, where songs come out of the libretto, where there's a flow.  None of that on view here.  I can't tell you how many meals Doug and I had where I just was absolutely focused and quite maniacal that everything be precise, everything make sense, everything flow from one thing to the next - that was not always easy, we had tense conversations, but in the end we have a show that, while perhaps not brilliant or the greatest thing since white bread, that works because you care about the characters and everything moves forward logically from thing to thing - and its ninety minutes never feel over ninety minutes.  Musicals are perhaps the hardest theatrical art form of them all.
