Well, you've read the notes, the notes were part two of the notes, and now it is time for you to post until the part two cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PROVENDER!
-
First post after BK.
-
T.O.D.
Do you know, or have you ever met, Jane Fonda?
-
I have to go to the old actors’ lunch today, even though it is at one of my least favorite restaurants.
-
what restaurant?
-
I met her briefly at some do or other - in the 90s, I think.
-
It is called Doyle’s. It is a poor attempt at a British or Irish pub.
-
Back to the movie...when the guy wakes up in the hospital, he lost two front teeth and he makes a couple of Beatles references that his not-girlfriend doesn't get. Once he gets out of the hospital, she buys him a new guitar and he sings "Yesterday" but no one recognizes it. And he realizes that they've never heard of the Beatles. He searches the Internet and discovers that THEY NOW NEVER EXISTED and NO ONE knows about them! He starts performing their music, claims that he wrote the songs, and becomes one of the biggest solo artists in the world...even bigger than Ed Sheeran, who co-stars (and not just a cameo) and plays himself in the movie.

I understand their bangers & mash is very good, but I don’t care for the dish.
-
fish & chips?
-
corned beef & cabbage?
-
I’ve always considered bangers to be what Mrs. Lovett did with what she couldn’t use in the meat pies.
-

That's too bad. Nothing like going to a place you don't like. :P
-
The fish and chips are so-so, and they only have the corned beef and cabbage on special occasions.

I am only going to find out their impressions on last Saturday’s gala.

Oh, no. :-\

it reminds me of harry potter world in orlando. at the three broomsticks, they have a full English breakfast including blood sausage. It looked like small black hockey pucks. I passed.
-
Well, I have lots to do tomorrow so I will say Bon Nuit, Mes Amis.

LMAO!
-
Good night to both of you.
-
And good night to the two of you! I'm off, too.
Have a good day, all!
-
I'm up, I'm up - oh, wait - I haven't gone to sleep. But I just had two tortillas with cheese because, well, why not. I wasn't up to 1000 calories, so this probably brought me to 1200

Good morning!

A Facebook poster named Brian Bakerman posted his description of a TV classic. :)
I LOVE LUCY
"a show about a woman with Narcissistic Personality Disorder who will lie, cheat and steal to get her way"
-
A BMI friend, James Harris, had this I LOVE LUCY musing:
"For years he watched a black and white show about a red-haired woman. They kept talking about her red hair, and he believed them. They brain washed him. And all the time, her hair was lime GREEN. It was a CIA experiment in mind control, and it worked."
:)
-
Good morning, all!

So far, every bit of work I thought I had to get me through this summer has vaporized. Between Feb. and April, I advised, explained, clarified, and believed I was working on a Beijing concert with a singer that would need orchestrations. In April, claiming it was all too confusing after meetings with a New York arranger fell through, she stopped calling. She left for Beijing two days ago. The concert is this week.
This holiday show remains completely in limbo, and I am back to the financial hell I was in last summer.

More $$$ vibes for DR ELMORE.

I like mash.

Tonight we begin our final four performances.....and it's hot!
The weather that is.
-
I have not heard any positive comments.
That is a shame.

Smart move in my opinion.

Work & money vibes for DR elmore!

Safe & easy travel vibes for DR Jan!

Last night I watched STAN & OLLIE - and I actually liked the performances of the actresses who played their wives more than the two leading men.
Since I was little, I thought L/H were tiresome and repetitive....I love three of their movies.....and not much of the rest of their output.
You're Darn Tootin' - in which everyone gets his pants torn off
The Battle of the Century - the BIG pie fight
Big Business - in which they demolish the home of James Finlayson while he in turn destroys their car.....
-

The actresses were very good.
I was never a L/H fan and after seeing the movie have a greater appreciation of them.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Needed a late start this morning. Not for sleep (unfortunately), just for getting a few things done before I pop in.
-
More $$$ vibes for DR ELMORE.
DITTO!
-
Changing the bed. Doing laundry. Listening to last Sunday's PIPPIN.
-
Tonight, back to OZ. But not to play. Just watching the brush-up.
Not a requirement, but I do want to see what the son of a bitch looks like.
-
Did I say son of a bitch?
What do I think this is, all of a sudden? COMPANY?

Good afternoon, all.
-
Another crazy busy day at work.
-
Hillary found out she has no blockage, but the source of her congestive heart failure is unknown.
-
I’m waiting for Klute to come in at the library.

Good & bad news. Continued health vibes for her.
-
I had Keith drop me off in town this morning before his haircut, then walked home after doing an errand. I enjoy the walk from town through the park and then along the river.
-
DR George my errand was a stop at the post office.

DR Jennifer unfortunately I did not see any exceptional book marks in Paris.
-
I'm up, I'm up - ten and a half hours of blessed sleep.
-
Noisy neighbors, but I just woke up, and fell asleep. Helper's mom came at eleven to get stuff but I just went right back to sleep.
-
Vibes for the friend of DR JOHN G - Hillary.
-
My question for ASK BK DAY:
Who were your favorite silent film comedians?
-
I am off in a tick to do this son of a bitch....oh no wait....that's what DR CHAS SMITH is doing.....
He is going to OZ and I'm going to Connecticut.....
-
My question for ASK BK DAY:
Who were your favorite silent film comedians?
It's heresy to say it, but I, too, was never all that fond of Laurel and Hardy. They're funny in very short doses, but the film of theirs that really works for me is Way Out West. But I've tried. I've got a complete L&H DVD set and I couldn't get through it.
Charlie Chaplin - always great, in fact always brilliant and always makes me laugh. Buster Keaton, mostly the same and even if I'm not laughing I'm engaged with his physicality. That's probably it. I don't know others as well as I should.
-
More vibes for JohnG's friend Hillary.
-
Went and picked up a tiny residual and am now back.
-
I know I wasn't asked, but my favorite silent film actors are the comedians. At the top is Buster Keaton, kabuki-mask face and perfect timing. Chaplin can achieve the sublime. I'm just learning more about Harold Lloyd, especially with a few of these recent film restorations. Mabel Normand was incandescent, a comic genius.
-
Just finishing up The Magnificent Seven with its magnificent film score.
-
I had one slight problem with the film -- if you overthink it. Whenever the shooting is going on, guys get shot, but the horses never do.

How does "They Shoot Horses, Don't They" fit in here?

Page three??? Really?
-
Most unseemly.

Back from a dinner meeting where I met and dined. Went to Barone's and we split a pepperoni pizza, which was fantastic. We each had four pieces and we each took home two-and-a-half pieces.
-
Prior to that, Sami and her mom came for a visit.

Is four pieces as much food as four slices in NY dining?
-
Ask B.K. Day:
I just finished The Magnificent Seven with its great Elmer Bernstein score. What are some of your other favorite scores for westerns, spaghetti and all?
-
I got a start on my Asian restaurants article. Maybe a third of the way.
-
I haven't written in a few months, so it's been really like pulling hair.
-
I need to have it done by Monday and another article I won't get the chance to do an interview for until Friday.
-
I should be in bed.
-
But I'm sort of worked up.
-
I did take a short nap this afternoon.
-
And I ate sugar today.
-
I'm bad.
-
I hope that BK has enjoyed his Creature.
-
The new Springsteen, Western Stars, came in today at the library.
-
I love it.
-
Four!
-
Hello, 1 guest!
-
Have you heard the new Springsteen?
-
It has a very early 70s, Jimmy Webb feel to it. Some of it is very dreamy.
-
It's the first album of his in maybe more than 20-25 years that I've wanted to listen to a second time as soon as it finished.
-
Well, I've had it.
-
Good night, all.
-
Ask B.K. Day:
I just finished The Magnificent Seven with its great Elmer Bernstein score. What are some of your other favorite scores for westerns, spaghetti and all?
I've met very few western scores I don't like. Some favorites are The Big Country (Jerome Moross), The Searchers (Max Steiner), One-Eyed Jacks (Hugo Friedhofer - available on Kritzerland), The Sons of Katie Elder (Elmer Bernstein - I almost like this better than The Magnificent Seven), The Cowboys (John Williams), True Grit (Bernstein), High Noon and Red River (Tiomkin), and many others.
-

Is four pieces as much food as four slices in NY dining?
No, Barone's pizzas are square and a piece is about half to two-thirds of a NY slice - those tend to be rather huge.
-

Good.

Then you need to finish the first article tomorrow, get moving ;)

We went to our annual HOA meeting tonight.
-
We went to our annual HOA meeting tonight.
Jane, do you mind if I ask how much your HOA dues are?
-
After work, I went to Subway for one of their new (but temporary) Cibatta subs (https://www.subway.com/en-US/MenuNutrition/Menu/Featured-1).
-
I had the Italian Ciabatta.
-
It was quite tasty.
-
A few days ago, I had the Chicken Pesto with New Fresh Mozzarella.
-
I enjoyed that one, too.
-
After that, I went to Fred Meyer and bought a set of four Ball canning jars.
-
I only needed one, but they didn't have just one.
-
The reason I wanted one was because I have a Big Al (the Disney character) piggy bank and it's filled.
-
The set of four Ball jars were on sale, and even though Amazon had piggy banks, they were smaller and cost more.
-
I went through the coins in my Big Al bank and I have a lot of 1960s and earlier coins.
-
I have some foreign coins, such as a 1958 Australian penny with Queen Elizabeth on the heads side.
-
I also have a
1940 1942 Australian penny with King George VI on the heads side!
-
I have several silver coins, too.
-
And quite a few wheat-backed US pennies.
-
One of them is from 1928!
-
Coincidentally, I also have a 1928 $2 bill!
-
That $2 isn't in my Big Al bank, though.
-
PAGE FIVE COIN DANCE!!
-
I have the $2 bill in a folder with some actual Antarctica currency.
-
I got the Antarctica currency on eBay quite a few years ago.
-
Here's a picture of some of the foreign coins:
-
Um, page five? Barely? Really?
-
I'll just not change the topic right now, I guess.
-
Tomorrow, I'm going to usher for Man of La Mancha (https://harlequinproductions.org/show/man-of-la-mancha/), again.
-
This performance is a special ASL-interpreted performance.
-
My friend Margo ushered last weekend and said it's a lot better than the final dress performance that we saw a few weeks ago.
-
I would hope so, but I'm looking forward to seeing how much better it is.
-
I'm also interested in seeing if I still mind or don't mind the signing AND the actors playing the instruments.
-
DR George you have a nice collection of coins.
-
I have the $2 bill in a folder with some actual Antarctica currency.
Cool.
-
I slept for a bit then finished reading my book.
-
Thanks for the photos George.
-
I will answer your question later.
-
DR George you have a nice collection of coins.
Thanks, Jane. I don't have too many, and they're only worth their face value.
-
Thanks for the photos George.
Anytime.
-

True but still they are nice to have.
-
My head hurts so I went for a walk around our condo, just inside.
-
Looking outside it is very different from Ashland where the stars filled the sky on a moonless night. Here we can see the lights from Portland.
-
My head hurts so I went for a walk around our condo, just inside.
Oh, no! Hope you feel better quickly!
-
While I can't see the moon tonight I gather it is full enough that there are not stars visible even in Asland.
-

Thanks. It isn't too bad.
-
The sky here is rather clear and the river very blue even at 1:30 in the morning.
-
Planes are still taking off.
-
I am gojng to lie down on my soft headache pillow and hope to sleep. We have friends coming over tomorrow.
-
'night George
-
While I can't see the moon tonight I gather it is full enough that there are not stars visible even in Asland.
It's pretty overcast here, so I can't see any stars, but I could see the moon through the clouds.
-
'night George
Good night, Jane.

6!!
