Well, you've read the notes, the notes were tickled pink and maybe it should be you red the notes, and now it is time for you to post until the tickled pink cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: MERITOCRACY!
-
I fell in love with the music of Dello Joio after singing some of his choral pieces in high school.
Good to know about the opera.
Plus, his name is fun to say. Just saying.
-
Good morning, everyone.
-
Listening to "The Circle Game" by Joni Mitchell.
-
Good morning, all!
-
Last night my cell phone bit the dust, Its battery had been dying for several weeks, and I kept putting off a trip to the Verizon store because going out is such an ordeal, and then the Big Storm hit. So, I think this morning I will bite the bullet and get myself out of the apartment and deal with this dead phone.
-
So, with no cell phone for my alarm, at 5:30, when I turned on the light to check my watch, I decided to get out of bed. The cats happily agreed with me.
-
I may need to purchase a new cell phone this morning, and that's not an expense I look forward to.
-
After that, the remainder of the day will be tax matters.
-
After Joni Mitchell, I listened to Judy Collins singing "Who Knows Where the Time Goes." So wistful; so beautiful.
Grab the acoustic version, from her "Colors of the Day" album.
-
Tacocat spelled backward is still Tacocat.

Listening to "The Circle Game" by Joni Mitchell.
I love Buffy Sainte-Marie's recording of "The Circle Game," orchestrated by my friend Peter Schickele (PDQ Bach).
-
Wasn't familiar with that one; thanks, DR elmore3003!
-
Good morning, all.
-
SNOW.
-
And it looks like vixmom isn't getting this one!
-
Kitty cleanup is finished. I'll make the bed and take the recyclables to the basement. I'd like to head to Verizon around 9:30. The store opens at 10:00.
-
~~~TRAVEL AND SHOPPING VIBES~~~ for DR elmore3003!
I hope you get a hot pink one phone.
-
So you, too, can be tickled pink.
-
Think pink!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Think pink!
Thank you, Kay Thompson!
-
Tacocat spelled backward is still Tacocat.
And that is as it should be.
-
Otherwise, wither the universe?
-
While her withers wither with her?
-
I love Buffy Sainte-Marie.......besides "The Circle Game" - I love the songs on her LP/CD: "She Used To Want To Be A Ballerina."
-
Interesting notes today......yes, don't fight the algorithm.
Today I guess the trial starts.......I hope EVERYTHING isn't preempted for it.
-
TOD:
Working on/and performing in a show.....I love it!!!!
Happy Birthday, James Dean.
Well his birthday was yesterday - but we're slow in Indiana.
It looks like the snow has stopped.
So you people to the south never got this one.
I'm guessing we only got a couple of inches. I'm waiting a little while to make sure it's stopped for good, then I'll go out and start schlepping again.
-
And then later: Chili, cheese and onion hot dogs!
-
Good Morning. Very cloudy today - it wants to rain, and it's be threatening with sprinkles. At least it didn't sprinkle during my outdoor music class with Kindergarten.
-
My first online rehearsal for Urinetown went ok, I guess. Can't really hear if they are comprehending anything, though. I won't know until they send their recordings in. I checked in with a Music Director pal of mine who is doing the same things I am just to be sure I'm going about this all right, he confirmed that I was. It's a challenging profession to be in these days.
It is for me in work meetings. I can only imagine how frustrating non-auditory auditory must be.
Update: It's NOT done yet. Glad I waited.
I've had three hours out and about. I have a new cell phone, and I liked very much the young lady who helped me. Why is it Verizon sells all this high-tech crap and yet their tablets and machinery for making a sale suck? It took three tries to process my payment, and the third only went through because she had to reboot the program. Then it took over an hour and some time with tech support to adjust the new phone with the old.
-
After that I took a taxi to Citibank for some important banking last week's snow screwed up, and I am home.
Trump's lawyer reminds me of ping pong balls and moustraps. He's all over the place.
I'm up, I'm up - eight and a half hours of sleep.
Ordered Japanese again - different place - will be here between two and two thirty
Well, for reasons unknown they have put me in Facebook jail for three damn days, which means I cannot do the big tag post tomorrow or Friday. I am furious. I got a warning yesterday because I made a funny post that someone should punch one of the buffoons (maybe Mike Lindell) in the nose. I disputed it and they put the post back up and then this. They said bullying in two posts - well, what's the other one? No way to dispute, no way to get around it.
-
I tried circumventing it by using the Kritzerland at Vitello's page and posting as that - no go. I assume it's the same with the Kritzerland page. So, I really need you guys to help out here.
Welcome to my world. Be glad the bastards didn't give you 30 days!
Can someone do the tag post for you?
I am surprised they let you put the post about punching someone back up.
Laura & Ginny, good news for the babies.
"Researchers at the University of Missouri School of Medicine conducted the study, analyzing the health records of more than 900 kids who tested positive for COVID-19 in 2020. They found that those who received the latest influenza shot were less likely to have respiratory symptoms and less likely to experience severe symptoms from COVID-19 than those who had not received the flu shot. Similarly, those who received the pneumococcal vaccine (which protects against infections like pneumonia and meningitis) were less likely to show severe symptoms of COVID-19."
-
I’ll even make a guest appearance on Facebook if you tell us what to do.
-
Thank goodness the premiere itself is being hosted on YouTube and not FB.
-
Glad you had a successful trip, DR elmore3003, and accomplished all your errands.
-
That James Dean dance is freaking me out just a little bit.
-
Here's what you can do. Grab the flyer from my page and post to Cast Recordings, Cast Album Collectors, and Forgotten Musicals. Also, include the direct link to the YouTube channels. You can also copy my text from the post and say "From Bruce Kimmel". And any other B'way group you belong to. Here's the link to YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/haineshisway
The timing of this is beyond belief. And yet they're perfectly happy to keep asking me to pay to boost posts on the Kritzerland Upstairs at Vitello's page. Oh, and share there, too, as well as Kritzerland's own page. But it's the tagging that's gonna kill me. I'm gonna do a second eBlast because of this.
What makes me giddy and happy is clapping and waving and big smiles from our happy little girl.
-
Tuesday evening greetings!
What makes me giddy and happy is clapping and waving and big smiles from our happy little girl.
Works for me, too!
Our happy girl is 8 months old today and we have 8 inches of snow to match. That’s a lot of snow for around here.
-
I can't even boost posts on the business pages I run. They are disgusting.
-
Picked up packages and ate another mediocre Japanese meal - I'm done with Japanese for a VERY long time now.
-
If someone could go onto the Kritzerland Upstairs at Vitello's page and find the latest post with our flyer and then put the YouTube link in the comments.
-
This last bit, immediately above, is done, at any rate.
-
And it looks like vixmom isn't getting this one!
And there was great rejoicing
-
This last bit, immediately above, is done, at any rate.
I just added the thing about the Zoom Meeting/Party.
-
I shared Hartley's post about the show.
-
Went out to dinner tonight with a friend to celebrate Christmas and life and whatever. I hope I don't sneeze for the rest of the night.
-
Dinner was on the San Antonio Botanical Gardens restaurant patio and the temperature was a little chilly, in the low 60s and upper 50s, but we had a patio heater to make things nice. Daffodils were already in bloom. And the setting was tranquil. Birds singing all around.
-
A lot of the herbs grown there were featured in the food, which include plenty of mezze options that we split. We had bruschetta with a parsley salad and roasted tomatoes on it, fried rice balls, roasted garlic and toast, lebneh with a green olive-celery salsa on top, naan topped with herbs and spices, and a grilled cheese sandwich topped with tomato jam. Lots of carbs, lots of good flavors.
-
We shared a plate of lamb meatballs over a warm dip seasoned with raz al hanout for the main course.
-
Dessert for me was a raspberry panna cotta, which had great flavor but was too dense to be, texturally, a good panna cotta. Gail had a dessert cocktail that Jane would have hated. It was a Brandy Alexander with, you guessed it, hazelnut flavoring added.
-
It was just nice to spend time with another human being for a little while.
-
And it wasn't that expensive. I just don't eat like that anymore.
-
As I was reading this, I thought that you were going to say that it had actual hazelnuts in the drink! :o
;)
-
Time to leave work.
Until later.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Glad to hear that Larry now has a new cell phone and that the shopping trip is behind you. What did you buy?
-
Hi, Jeanne.
-
Good night, all.
-
Tacocat spelled backward is still Tacocat.
I do wonder about pet parents who feel compelled to do these sorts of things. I may be in the minority.
My quote becomes more true everyday.
You're not referring to the space lasers, are you?
There used to be a restaurant near Santa Barbara called, I think, The Ranch or The Ranch House, that was set in an herb garden. There were only two seatings, which allowed for a leisurely meal and a stroll through the garden. The food was quite good, too. Jane, do you know of it?
-
It was just nice to spend time with another human being for a little while.
Yes, I know what you mean. I find myself talking more with people I hardly know. I think many of us are conversation-starved. It'd be even worse without HHW.
Hi, John G.
Coping vibes to all.
Good night.
Four!
Been listening to Marvin Hamlisch’s Jean Seberg tonight. It’s easy to see why it failed, byt parts are fascinating. And the music is quite good.
-
Will finish it tomorrow. Need to head to bed.
-
Good night, all.
-
Here we go again with this page four malarkey. Typical of the way this day is going.
-
Ready for a new day already.
-
Like now.
-
Like sooner than later.
-
Have listened to two excellent operas this night - that's made things more pleasant.
-
Oh, late-nighters, wherefore art thou?
-
Thou wherefore art?
-
Art wherefore thou?
WHILE I enjoy a good Brandy I don't think I have ever had a Brandy Alexander
For the most part I agree with you. Maybe they did it for Halloween.
I am not familiar with it. There was a well known restaurant in Talent, Oregon that cooked from their garden behind the restaurant. Sadly it burned down in the recent fire.
-
New Sammy's was well known for 31 years. I was amazed, when traveling out of state, how many people asked about the restaurant.
-
The restaurant was also their home. I just looked and found that a fundraiser raised a lot of money for them.
-
It was just nice to spend time with another human being for a little while.
Yes, I know what you mean. I find myself talking more with people I hardly know. I think many of us are conversation-starved. It'd be even worse without HHW.
I feel pretty lucky. I've been able to get with my family, and be able to chat with co-workers at work, and friends. I miss my theater, but I know it'll come back. :)
-
Think pink!
Slingblade, have you been chugging the Geritol again?
-
This last bit, immediately above, is done, at any rate.
I just added the thing about the Zoom Meeting/Party.
Fred, why are you using a new name?
-
Hi, Tom.
I have had a brandy. And I have had an Alexander. But never both at the same time.
It was supposed to be a musical (https://castalbums.org/recordings/Jean-Seberg-1983-Workshop/7454/), but I guess it didn't go anywhere. :-\
-
Today, Tracy and I went to see the new and vastly improved, Tacoma Little Theatre.
-
The only song that I know from it is called "Dreamers." Sarah Brightman recorded on her album, The Songs That Got Away (https://castalbums.org/recordings/The-Songs-That-Got-Away-1989-Sarah-Brightman/215/). I really like that song, and that recording.
Cool! I've seen pictures in Chris' e-mails and THIS VIDEO (https://youtu.be/bR5STuZnU8A) on TLT's website. What's it like in person? :)
-
Now they are saying that by Friday morning, Tacoma will have 8 inches of snow and Olympia will have 9 inches.
-
Page five? REALLY?
-
Let us keep on keeping on.
-
I'm having a little Vanilla Swiss Almond ice cream because I have had such a rancid little day.
-
Now they are saying that by Friday morning, Tacoma will have 8 inches of snow and Olympia will have 9 inches.
Yikes! :o I hadn't heard that!
-
Why I oughta...
-
I have never had a Brandy.
-
If that is true, Puyallup/Graham will have 10 to 12 inches.
Listening to some Copland.
-
I was surprised to hear (on the video), however, that they haven't upgraded their bathrooms, yet. ::)
-
They REALLY need to upgrade those!!
-
I didn’t know there was a video.
-
Have I mentioned that I HATE Facebook?
-
There's always a video.
-
And I saw the actual chair that Sharry and Micheal bought in my name.
-
If that is true, Puyallup/Graham will have 10 to 12 inches.
You'd better get some studded tires on that scooter of yours, Tom! ;D
The bigger problem is that I believe I am responsible for shoveling the sidewalk in front of my condo.
What?? :o That's ridiculous! Your condo should be responsible for all outside maintenance, including snow removal!! ESPECIALLY, since you're disabled! >:(
