George, don’t get to excited about the new open-carry law. My former classmate is already drawing up the legal papers to have it ruled unconstitutional.

Damn! How can it be constitutional to openly carry a gun...own, yes, but carry out in the open?? That's just wrong!

The topic of the day??
When we came in last night and removed our masks at the table the waitress said!” It is you! The dollar shirt man!”
We apologized and she said ofh Thanks fir thinking of it. I have my shirt right by my license in my wallet!
Don't forget you can still get covid if you are vaccinated. It just isn't as likely you will know you are sick.
Here’s why copy editors are needed. Read to the very last sentence.

I, too, will continue to wear a mask, even if not required. I'd like to see us become more like Japan, where if someone has a cold or cough, they wear a mask. If they're not sick but others around them are, they may wear a mask. And so on.
I also like the extra disinfectant measures. And the distancing.
I'm becoming quite anti-social!
And then there was this headline:
Church Roof Collapses; Woman Critical
So how did she want it to collapse?

Ushering tonight for the symphony. Short works by Beethoven and Sibelius. Schuberts Fifth is the big centerpiece. Should be fun.
My doctor wanted a CT scan. My insurance company said no. O joy.
I hope the blood test is good.

I'm ushering for two, count 'em, TWO events this weekend! ;D
The problem with the CDC has been their inconsistent messaging. They've taken a lot of flack lately for being too conservative, so the new guidelines took many of us by surprise. Personally, I think it's premature. Last summer when things opened up the case counts rose significantly. Yes, many people have been vaccinated, but I feel we should do this slowly. You don't know which people in the room have been vaccinated and which have not. You don't know who is immunocompromised.
There's an epidemiologist at Virginia Tech who came up with a "2 out of 3" rule:
The three factors are outdoors, distanced, and a mask.
If you're outdoors and distanced, you don't need a mask.
If you're outdoors but close up, you need a mask.
If you're indoors, whether distanced or not, you need a mask.
This approach makes a lot of sense to me.

I'd read/heard that because of all the mask wearing, the incidents of colds and flu were way down, too!

We enjoyed the lack of crowds as well as our dinner. I had a personal pizza while Keith had an Impossible burger. He shared some of his onion rings with me.
I finally heard back from my doctor, biopsy came back negative so that was a relief

So am I. Got the children’s ballet version of Christopher Weedon’s Alice in wonderland
DR TCB & DR George, are you free for lunch, around noon, on May 31st?
Today as we were leaving Fred Meyer I suggested we go to The Rock Wood Fired Pizza in the shopping center there. Keith said lets go to Beaches instead.
We then drove over to the new fusion restaurant we recently ate at. They were closed due to an employee having covid.
I can't imagine not wearing a mask inside at a mall or whatever. But even though the cases are pretty low here. Nobody here has been double vaccinated yet as our province decided to give everyone 1 dose first. So the no mask thing does not apply to Canada.
But I still don't think that I would be comfortable not wearing one indoors in semi-crowded places. Because I don't know that others have been vaccinated.
Also things are still not completely open yet. Restaurants are still closed. And we still have a 9:30pm curfew. But Quebec is doing better than most other provinces. Ontario is still on stay at home orders.

Mom heard from her doctor today and her pacemaker is doing her good. The numbers were rather scary, so she appears to have gotten it at the right time. Don't ask me to present or interpret the numbers. That's out of my league.
I got a phone call from my doctor. The blood work came back and seems to be relatively OK. This was an appointment right after lunch and my non-fasting blood sugar level was high.
Well, duh. It was right after lunch.
