Well, you've read the notes, the notes smelled and were fishy, and now it is time for you to post until the smelly cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: GREGARIOUS!
-
Yesterday's day of posts isn't locked, BK!
-
It is now.
-
It is now! And all is right with the world. :)
-
Welcome twenty-five GUESTS. Who are you people?
-
Well, I need to get to bed now so that I can sleep. Good night, BK.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good early morning to all
-
Good morning, friends.
-
For those DRs interested in Norman Dello Joio's piece, from bk's notes, as I was, you can hear that performance here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0639MBJTjWg
-
And, from the sublime to the ridiculous:
-
Good morning, all!
-
I woke at 5:30, turned off the alarm, and went back to bed for another 30 minutes. I slept poorly last night. My right leg was killing me, shooting pains from all parts between my toes and my hip. I remember no dreams except for the last one, something to do about the film version of Where's Charley?m and now the title song keeps galloping through my head.
-
I'm hoping for a quiet day today. We'll see.
-
:)

~~~SAFEST OF TRAVEL VIBES~~~ today for DR ChasSmith!!!
Ditto!
-
Kitty cleanup is over, and I am ready to go back to bed, where I plan to spend much of my day.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I wonder if this would be any good?
-
From DR Singdaw:
My little green screen setup is just a mite less extravagant than this inflatable green screen booth.
:o :D
-
From DR George:
Well, they don't only serve pizza, but it was just a suggestion...mainly self-serving. I have some gift cards that I haven't used. ::)
LOL. Keith had an impossible burger. He likes them, as does Craig. I didn't think much of the bun or sauce they use, but yes they do have other options and it would only be for lunch. I would even have an impossible burger, with mayo & ketchup vs their sauce.
I confirmed with Keith and he is fine with it, or anywhere you want to meet.
-
Good early morning to all
Hi DR Michael. How are you?
-
~~~SAFEST OF TRAVEL VIBES~~~ today for DR ChasSmith!!!
DITTO!
-
Sunday. There is an Open House in the house behind me. One couple with three children are there now.....the first to arrive.....
-
The internet says boiling some vinegar and water helps get rid of the fishy smell in your igloo.
-
;D
-
Yes, BK, the fish smell will abate in time. When is your Christmas Eve Do?
-

You would think that in all of Western Washington, between Vancouver and Tacoma, there would another place to eat besides Rock Wood Fire Pizza.

Let's change the page.

Finally he speaks ;)
Where do you want to meet?

I still recall the restaurant in Tacoma with the delicious super high chocolate cake.

I still recall the restaurant in Tacoma with the delicious super high chocolate cake.
Hmmm, where was that? I don't usually forget chocolate.
-
By the water. It was a long time ago.
-
We could pick up food from Rock Wood-Fired Pizza and go eat it at one of the local beaches? That would cover both ends of the spectrum.
-
By the water. It was a long time ago.
Maybe it was Harbor Lights?
-
Well, Harbor Lights doesn't have any chocolate cake. At least, not anymore.
-

Maybe it was Harbor Lights?
That looks right. I don't see the cake on the menu so I have no need to return ;) ;D
-
Hello, DR TCB.
-
Well, Harbor Lights doesn't have any chocolate cake. At least, not anymore.
I should have read this before posting.
-
Pretty much...
-
We could pick up food from Rock Wood-Fired Pizza and go eat it at one of the local beaches? That would cover both ends of the spectrum.
Except you don't want to eat there ;) Eating at the beach sounds good.
Truly, wherever you both decide for convenience works for us.
-
Hello, DR TCB.
Hi, singdaw! How nice to be on at the same time as you.
-
Pretty much...
How very true.
-
When did it become against people's civil rights to require a vaccination to stop the spread of a pandemic? I guess it was the same time that machine guns and bazookas became part of our Second Amendment rights.
-
My apologies. I try not to say anything political on this site, or any other site for that matter. That is why I quit going to Facebook.
-
It is completely understandable, DR TCB.
-
It has been an eye-opening year+ of frustration.
-
I try to be sanguine, but my faith in my neighbors (metaphorically) has been sorely tested.
-
And not just by the pandemic.
-
I'm just an old geezer rocking on my porch and muttering "It ain't like it used to be."
-
And Get off my lawn! :D
-
I am very excited about the prospect of a mini-HHW West Coast reunion. I hope that there will be a photo or three.
-
I try to be sanguine.....
Is that the wine with all the fruit cut up in it?
-
I'm just an old geezer rocking on my porch and muttering "It ain't like it used to be."
I've got the rocker right next to you.
-
Mmmm... fruit cup!
-
The cafeteria ladies loved serving fruit cup.
-
And on that note-
-
THREE!!!
-
I am very excited about the prospect of a mini-HHW West Coast reunion. I hope that there will be a photo or three.
Well, since George and I are both vampires, photographic evidence may be difficult to obtain.
-
Ah yes, fruit cups. Only nowadays, the fruit cups are all prunes.
-
Yesterday, I couldn't vacuum because the basket was full and needed to be dumped. So, I dumped it. Today, I need to come up with a new reason not to vacuum.
-
Ah yes, fruit cups. Only nowadays, the fruit cups are all prunes.
;D

:)
I am trying to up my exercise game, but this is pretty much me...
-
This afternoon, I will be experimenting with a different way to make hard-boiled eggs. We'll see if it is an improvement.
-
While DR TCB is sucking on prunes, I'll go suck on an egg.
-
DR Jane has disappeared. Maybe it was something we said?
-
I wonder if DR vixmom's DH knows that in addition to making dollar-bill t-shirts, there is also a way to fold a bill into pants. That way, you can leave a matching outfit for a tip.
-
DR TCB - it has been delightful. I'm going to drop off for a bit.
Hope you continue to feel better.
-
I wonder if these "people" who refuse to be vaccinated would have also refused the polio vaccination.
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep.
-
I wonder if this would be any good?
It's a little sweet for my tastes.
-
:)
I am trying to up my exercise game, but this is pretty much me...
And? ???? I've lived my life this way. I see no need to change things now.
-
Getting ready to go make paella. And circulate with people. A group of 20.
-
Right now, Alexa is providing me with a lush and sassy array of Dinah Washington.
-
I wonder if these "people" who refuse to be vaccinated would have also refused the polio vaccination.
The intelligence average of the USA was higher then.
-
Right now, Alexa is providing me with a lush and sassy array of Dinah Washington.
I love "Relax, Max!"

Good afternoon!
-
It's still Sunday.
Lots of NHL playoff games on television today.
-
My apologies. I try not to say anything political on this site, or any other site for that matter. That is why I quit going to Facebook.
I don't think of it as being political.
-
It has been an eye-opening year+ of frustration.
And discouraging :(
-
I try to be sanguine, but my faith in my neighbors (metaphorically) has been sorely tested.
I know. I am trying to get beyond my disappointment.

The young waitress the other night was not getting vaccinated and said "I have done my research". It was very difficult not to ask her what consisted of her research. I personally find most medical studies difficult to completely understand & I expect those are not what she read as part of her research.
-
Had a cheese and bacon omelet of my own making - surprisingly, it came out very well. Now I'm having a few veggies and onion dip, then apparently a little package has arrived so I'll go retrieve that.
-
I saw this on FB today:
Pro tips for gasoline hoarders:
Once you've filled your bathtub with gas, you can camouflage the smell by putting scented candles around the edge of the tub.
-
Good evening, all!
(A laurel and hearty welcome back, sir.) (Why, thanks!)
-
Welcome home.
-
I got on I-275 at 6:45 am this morning, and pulled into my driveway at 6:00 pm. I don’t think my stops added up to more than 45 minutes this time. It was a grueling push the whole way, and this DR is dead tired but happy to be back. I shall ketchup aplenty in the morn’.

I don't understand is she planning to continue wearing a mask until there are no more covid cases? I just don't get why she is bragging about this. Who is going to want to be waited on by her?

She didn't brag. I asked, leading up to the question if she was vaccinated would she be permitted to stop wearing her mask at work. The response was they still had to wear masks, vaccinated or not.
-
I have noticed people are sensitive about answering that they are not getting vaccinated. Probably because they know I think they should be vaccinated, especially when dealing with the public.
While I am very pleased with my vision since getting new glasses, and with my optometrist office, had I known they weren't vaccinated I would have gone elsewhere.. I am glad I postponed any more office visits until I was protected.
-
Good evening.
-
DR Singdaw,
The best way to make hard-boiled eggs is in the Instant Pot.
Put the eggs on the rack, add one cup of water.
Set on high for 5 minutes.
Let it sit 5 minutes after it beeps.
Put in ice bath for 5 minutes.
-
They cook perfectly, and they are very very easy to peel.
-
DR Laura how long do you cook a soft boil egg in there?
-
Super! Thanks, DR Laura. The way I tried was OK, but not 100% satisfactory, so I look forward to trying your method.
-
Pleased that DR ChasSmith is safely home and amongst us, though understandably quite tired.
-
I don't understand is she planning to continue wearing a mask until there are no more covid cases?
That's the crux of the problem right there. The people that aren't getting vaccinated probably never work masks to begin with, and probably aren't going to now. So they're endangering themselves as well as prolonging the pandemic.
-

I suspect it is true for most of them. Those that shouldn't get vaccinated will continue to wear mask.

I love "Relax, Max!"
It's relatively new to me, and I love it.
-
Well, the sausage and peppers were a hit. The paella was good but not great. I don't make it enough to have remembered everything I was supposed to do. Everyone else liked it, and the rest of the food.
-
And, from the sublime to the ridiculous:

Gratuitous Post #111!!!
-
Hi, John.
-
But someone brought one of those cakes that are actually a quarter of four different cakes on a plate. We tried small bites of the three non-chocolate cakes and they were dreadful. The best wanted to be a lemon cake but it tasted more like it had been made with Lemon Joy.
Another one was hard to describe. Acrid fake vanilla? Fake mint? Fake, yes. But too fake to figure out what.
The third was just bland.
-
Hi, John.
Hi, George. How goes it?
-
The Silent Move Series for which I ushered today featured two Harold Lloyd movies: Speedy and High and Dizzy. Here's the description from the Washington Center's website:
Two shorts from “The King of Daredevil Comedy” Harold Lloyd. Speedy (1928) sends Lloyd on a tour of New York City, featuring glimpses of Yankee Stadium, Coney Island, and Babe Ruth as himself. High and Dizzy (1920) finds our man getting tipsy on a then-illegal stockpile of liquor before making a daring rescue at dizzying heights. Thrilling special effects made this an audience favorite! © 2021 Harold Lloyd Entertainment, Inc.
World-class theater organist Dennis James brings the silent era to life on our historic 1924 treasure: The Mighty Andy Crow Wurlitzer Organ. Experience the silver screen as it was meant to be seen! Our Silent Movie Series is a signature event at the Washington Center. We welcome people of all ages to step back in time and enjoy the sound and nostalgia.

Hi, John.
Hi, George. How goes it?
It goes well. The two silent movies were very good, and the live organ music playing is always fantastic!

Tom would be coming from Puyallup, so he may have some suggestions.

I love Harold Lloyd. I'm going to have to watch Speedy. I know I have a copy.

Five!

Starting to watch Jules Dassin's Uptight. It's a fascinating update of The Informer to the week after Dr. King's funeral in Atlanta.
-
I doubt I will be able to watch all of it tonight.

I love Harold Lloyd. I'm going to have to watch Speedy. I know I have a copy.
I was wondering if it was available. I kind of want to see it again because I think that there was one shot after Harold and his girlfriend are having fun looking at the funhouse mirror (after he gets paint on the back of his jacket) and as they leave the mirror, it looked to me like he flipped off the mirror! I wondered if I actually saw that correctly!
-
Criterion has a number of Harold Lloyd movies in their lineup. Speedy's one of them.
-
It's available on Blu-ray from Criterion (https://www.criterion.com/films/28497-speedy) (as well as Amazon), so I think I'll get it. I really did like it!

Yikes! :o That's too bad!

Finished with my viewing.
-
Had some more veggies with onion dip - cauliflower this time. I also got some Keto friendly chips or something resembling chips. They're not great but work fine with the dip.
-
I'm on the last of the Ormandy CDs - there are two more after this, but interestingly not him conducting, but simply older things with the Philadelphia Orchestra. Maybe they were at some point coupled with some Ormandy.
