Well, you've read the notes, the notes made tracks, and now it is time for you to post until the making tracks cows come home.

And the word of the day is: SCHWA!

And the word of the day is: SCHWA!
Do people even know what this word is anymore? I remember learning the word in school, but is it even still taught?
-
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Our local DQ (and what is it with all these corporate franchises losing words and just going to initials?) is staffed by unruly, undisciplined teenagers. At least, the last time I checked (several years ago, now). It made the entire experience extremely disagreeable.
-
I, for one, am glad that The Randy Vicar is getting his due.
-
Le Tribut de Zamora.
The Three Butts of Zamora?
-
Good morning, all!
-
We are in a heat wave. The cats are unhappy, and I'm unhappy that I cannot spend my day lying in the cool porcelain of the bathtub with them.
-
Yesterday was a busy day, so today I plan to do little.
-
Last night, just before 9:00, we had a strange occurrence in the apartment. It might have been a ghost.
I had turned off the TV and I was reading, so it was very quiet in the apartment, and all three cats were resting on my bed with me. From the vicinity of the kitchen came a long low scraping sound. I sat up, Thatch rose and walked to the foot of the bed and stared off into space. I got up, walked to the kitchen, didn't see anything strange, made sure the door was locked, and went back to bed. Thatch was still staring into the kutchen area.
Do you see a ghost, Thatcher? I asked him as I passed him. I got back into bed and he jumped off it and wandered into the kitchen. He was gone for maybe five minutes and then came back and jumped back in the bed.
-
I would say yes, DR ELMORE, he did.
-
I am liking MR BK's new avatar and I can certainly see how it would be popular with the populace.
Vibes for MR BK and getting the piano tracks done.
-
My favorite story is the one of The Randy Vicar and the Rusty Edsel.
-
TOD:
I think MR BK wrote a rant on the Cancel Culture a few months ago that was very good.
I am very distressed by the whole thing - and I am very angry that people who have done things and accomplished things can be canceled by stupid people who have done nothing more important than making a Facebook post.
And they are not content just feeling a certain way - they must feel validated by making as many more stupid people feel the same way as possible.
But how does one fight stupidity and injustice? It's very difficult.
-
Good morning, all.
-
So anyway I received a message from one such person.....he had received his tickets for the season....and thought the date on the ticket was printed wrong and that he was coming THIS Wednesday instead of last Wednesday because we have NEVER done a show on the Wednesday of the first week.
So now he is mad even though ALL newspaper stories and website and Facebook stories clearly published ALL the correct dates.
-
Le Tribut de Zamora.
The Three Butts of Zamora?
The barbecue joint where we had lunch yesterday sold T-shirts that said, We like our butts rubbed. It has a picture of a large pig. So, yes, I bought one.
-
Can’t please ‘em all, JRand. Can’t even talk sense to some.

But can you get cherry dipped cones where you live? They don’t sell them in Texas.
-
Maybe Mme. Esme can help with the ghost, Elmore.

Another trip to Chinatown?

Madame Esmé scares me!

When I lived in Ohio, I would never think of going to DQ for a meal, only strawberry shakes and dilly bars.
-
I could sure use a strawberry shake right now!
-
Or a shamrock shake.
-
I have just tried my first Sparkling Ice drink: black raspberry. And bk was absolutely right - they taste amazing! Love the carbonation, too.
-
Good morning, all.
-
And a late one it is.
-
The heat wave continues, though today we might have it a few degrees lower than yesterday. Yesterday was a hot and humid slice of hell. Tomorrow night is when the real break comes and we should be having "nice" weather for a while.
-

I never learned the word in school. It's only in recent years that I saw it referred to somewhere and had to look up what it meant.
-
I like to go to Dairy Queen and get a LARGE vanilla ice cream cone dipped in butterscotch.
-
The whole corporate move to using initials is something I often find very annoying. Not always. I mean, we grew up with them ourselves and good old IBM, AT&T, TRW and others seem fine to us.
What annoys are those who I honestly believe are doing it in an attempt to look "cool" and stay relevant to younger people.
Here's one I find absurd, which is probably not geared so much to the young but is probably desperately trying to stay relevant: WW. So now "Weight Watchers" can be cool. And you don't even have to say those shameful words. Never mind that it's actually easier to say "Weight Watchers" than "WW". Those happy WWers should make haste to the nearest KFC and DQ and live it up a little.
-
I never got anything but dairy products there, either, except when on a long road trip, because it can make a good rest stop to pull into one and have something a little more like a meal. I've probably had a cheeseburger and fries there, but I don't recall much else. Fortunately, I also don't recall those items being particularly disappointing.

That would pretty much describe my experience with them in Ohio, and even Florida. We actually went to any such ice cream place, didn't have to be a Dairy Queen, and it was always for just that -- ice cream and shakes and such.
-
I have to remember to try a few Sparking Ices next time I'm shopping. That is, if it's a national thing that's sold here. I haven't investigated. But if DR singdaw has them, too, we all probably do.
-
Tuesday morning greetings! The heat, humidity, and cicadas continue to keep us inside.
-
I could sure use a strawberry shake right now!
Well, DR Elmore, Middletown has a spiffy new DQ and we could go there together!
-

That's what I plan to have when we make our first visit there sometime soon! Maybe not a LARGE, though...
-
Speaking of DQ, when my niece was a toddler my sister and her husband lived in a small house that belonged to his grandmother. There was a Dairy Queen at the corner of their block and Laura and I would walk there for ice cream when I was babysitting. She's retired now and in the process of moving to Florida.
-
The first such ice cream place in my memory was a non-DQ one at the corner of East Main St. and Yearling Rd. in Whitehall, a then-new suburb of Columbus. We had moved to a new house (costing $12k) just off of Yearling when I was around five, and visits to that ice cream jernt were a treat.
The Dairy Queens and other fast food places I most love to find are those that still have their original building and signage. There's not a lot of that left, but I loved finding a Dairy Queen like that on Route 4 (I think it is) a few years ago in Cincinnati, a little south of Springdale. I've seen one or two others in Ohio, too, somewhere...

I might have to eat those words. Thursday will be better, but it looks more like Thursday evening that the real break in this will happen.

Roosevelt Blvd., across from the Masonic Temple.

DR ChasSmith - Sparling Ice drinks may be available around these parts in stores; I don't know. I ordered mine from Amazon.
-
For anyone that likes soda, but wants to stop drinking soda, I'd highly recommend them. Infinitely healthier. But of course, plain or sparkling water is even better for you than that.

I don't even know where thje Masonic Temple is!
-
The sky is black. We are in for a storm.
-
I'm up, I'm up - nine hours of sleep.
-
A lull.
-
And another.
-
Hope DR TCB is OK.

Do you remember where Grand and Roosevelt come together in that peculiar intersection? It's near there.

It’s so humid here it’s like being in a steam bath
-
It’s been looking like it was going to rain any second for the past 5 hours
-
But nada
-
I came home from work and sat in the recliner and then it was suddenly 3 hours later
-
I took a shower and am sitting in the breeze of a fan
-
Which is most unusual for me
-
I don’t like a draft
-
We still haven’t had dinner
-
Vixdad has been stuck working all night
-
I don’t know if I mentioned it, but I also like your new avatar Bruce
-

-
They are doing street repair work here tomorrow.
-
We've been informed that the water will be off in the building from 9am until 2pm.
-
At least they thought to warn us ahead.
-
I'll fill up the bathtub tomorrow morning so that at least the toilet can be flushed.
-
:)
-
Good night, friends.
-
And now, it's time for me to leave work.
Be back later.
-
Back from a good rehearsal. Stopped at the Studio City Gelson's, which is the best of all Gelson's - got some fresh carved turkey and some gravy, both totally Keto friendly.
-
Now I'm home, eating the turkey and gravy. Earlier, I'd had two Keto tortillas with some cheese and salsa - only forty-five calories per tortilla and 0 net carbs.
-
Thanks George.

DR Vixmom when I look at your avatar I am reminded how bad I am these days. We started off wearing masks. After being told often enough we don't need them since we are vaccinated we used them less and less.
-
Since we were able to reserve the workout room at the hotel we did. It was nice having it all to ourselves.
-
After washing up we went out for breakfast. Keith had a delicious veggie burrito. I had excellent hot chocolate and a big treat for me, an avocado BLT. It was soooo good.
-

Accurate

You still need them to shop, in restaurants (unless you’re seated at your table), library etc. and I wear one at work as well
-
We then enjoyed another walk around the lively town of Missoula and then along the river to watch the river surfers before getting on the road again.
-
Vixdad was finally done with work at 10
-
I made hot dogs and beans for him with toasted buns
-
I had hot dogs with broccoli, no bun
-
I’ve been trying since the keto
-
For @bout a week now
-
I appear to be down 3.5 pounds so far

Employees are mostly wearing them, except in small shops, and not many other people. I see families where the younger children are masked but not the adults.
-
I hope George comes by soon
-
Oooh page 4
-
I appear to be down 3.5 pounds so far
Very good.
-
I should go out out the recycling
-
It’s cardboard and paper day
-
I hesitated putting it out before because I thought it was going to rain
-
Putting the recycling out should guarantee it though
-
Good night
-
We had a scenic 4,5 hour drive along a river. While scenic it wasn't an easy drive, slow 2 lane winding highway with many stops for construction.
-
Good evening, all.
-
Fun day of playing around. Mixed bag on the eats, but that’s okay.
-
We are at a Holiday Inn Express in Lewiston, Idaho. We drove to a Mexican restaurant for dinner then over to the small downtown area,
-
We toured a mansion built in the late 19th century that was really beautiful and brilliantly built. It had running hot and cold water, including toilets. The builders used crushed seashells as insulation. And the windows were placed so that there was cross ventilation to use those sea breezes.
-
I read Edith Wharton’s Madame de Treymes, a very Balzacian novella, brilliant and biting to the last page.
-
Started a new Maigret tonight.
-
And with that, I must go.
-
Vibes for all.
-
Good night, all.

Tried to watch a motion picture but kept snoozing off.

Congrats, Vixmom!
-
Gratuitous Post #111!
-
I hope George comes by soon
I have arrived...however, to quote Velma Kelly, "But I can't do it alone!" :-\
-
I hesitated putting it out before because I thought it was going to rain
It rained here today, and I left my windows cracked open a bit! :o
-
I walked to the local burger joint, Red Wagon, today for lunch at about 2:30, and it didn't rain at all.
-
And as I was walking, I remembered that I checked the weather which said that it wouldn't rain until 5:00 or so, so I wasn't worried about getting caught in the rain on my walk back to work.
-
And it didn't rain on my walk back to work, so that was good. :)
-
And then when I got back to work, I promptly forgot about the prediction of rain later in the afternoon...AND that I had left my car windows open when I first got to work. ::)
-
Fortunately, I don't think it had rained very much by the time I found out that it was raining, so I was able to close my windows without the insides of my car getting too wet.
-
When I left in the evening, my car seat was still a bit damp, but dry enough that I couldn't feel it through my pants.

-
I'm afraid we need more postings.
-
Lin Manuel Miranda is going to be on The Tonight Show tonight.
-
They now have a live audience, too.
-
Jimmy and Lin Manuel sang "I'll Be Back" from Hamilton, but with new lyrics, and a whole bunch of guest stars...and all in person!
-
I gotta tell you.
-
Most unseemly.
-
I made a track. Two takes and done. Whew. The act two opener. Now, I'm trying to transpose a song down a step so I can actually sing it. That's fun. Not.
-
I guess this is what they call a low posting day.
-
We prefer high posting days.
-
But alas and alack...
-
As well as alack and alas...
