Well, you've read the notes, the notes were both cold and a turkey, and now it is time for you to post until the cold cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ZEITGEIST!
-
A question for BK, even though it's not Wednesday: in your notes, you wrote, "The fun fact is that these two performances were recorded exactly two days before someone I know very intimately, namely me."
Umm...what??
-
Well, I'm off to visit the Tube of You for a little bit before I go to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
“The fun fact is that these two performances were recorded exactly two days before someone I know very intimately, namely me. Isn’t that a fun fact?”
Possibly fun if I had any idea what that meant :D ;)
-
TOD
First ones that come to mind
Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy
Spy Story
Bridge of Spies
Argo ( not sure if that really counts, but I like it)
-
Good morning, all!

Umm...what??
I assumed that it meant that the pieces were recorded two days before he was born.
-
This is a Michael Gildin day, so I have much to do before he arrives. When he's here, I want to prepare two cartons for Fed Ex delivery to the Miami University Library, move the cat food cartons to a more accessible location, and go through my Babes In Toyland cartons for my 2002-2007 research notes.
-
I have very little to report this morning.
-
BK, many of those animal rescue videos on YouTube are fake, and I recently signed a petition to ban them since the persons behind a lot of the videos are intentionally endangering the animals to "rescue" them on video.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
:)
-
Good morning, all.
-
I'm up a little early because this morning is Mikey's visit to the vet for his checkup and vaccinations.

That's my guess, if we're placing our bets now.

Me too, but I like to tease, I’m usually the one with typos and missing words
-
:)
I relate to this
-
The Act One run thru went surprisingly well even though we had five people missing.....
Tonight I am working in the box office for Pillow Talk at 5 p.m. and then staying around for tickets/concessions before the show and during intermission and then cleaning up after the show.
So that's my unexciting day.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I made it to Louisville in one piece.
-
Waze changed routes on me, detouring me through southern Missouri because a bridge was closed in Memphis and traffic backed up. Lots of rain, especially after dark.
-
But I am here in one piece in time for Mom’s 94th birthday today.
-
Caught up on my reading.
-
Hugs for Elmore.
-
Vibes for Vixmom.
-
And vibes for us all.

I find night driving with rain to be about the most stressful and debilitating driving there is.
(The kind of rain I drove through in last Thursday's daytime tropical mess would take second place.)

Happy Birthday to your Ma!
-
Michael has left and my apartment looks better and better.

A Very Happy 94th Birthday to your mom!!

:)
This is Thursday's project with Michael.
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep.
-
Yes, two days before my birth - I'll fix it.
-
I suspected some of the dog vids were, if not fake, done specifically for the camera. There are times when you sit and watch and they're just filming the dog and not helping the dog. And it's the monetizing the videos that gives it away. Elmore, do you have the names of the ones you suspect are fake, I mean the name of the poster? It seems like it's just two or three people.
-
Thank you DR TCB.
-
Going to the gym today instead of having lunch with good friends was a bit of a bummer.
-
At least we were able to leave the car at the body shop. It really wasn't safe to drive.
-
:)
LOL. That used to be me. One time Keith put all my books away, sorting them by author and mixing them with the rest of the books in the book shelves ( I need a screaming face to insert here) ;D
-

Excellent.

No, I'm sorry. The petition mentioned no names, only the need to get them off of YouTube and expressing concerns for the safety of the animals used.

We’re going out to dinner at a place where Mom can have liver and onions. We’ll see if she actually orders them.
-
Wow, there's something I haven't had in years. I wonder how I'd like it now.
My mom made it at home and I loved it growing up. Then there was a little old jernt near the campus where I'd get it now and then during my school years.
(Damned place had the tastiest cheeseburgers and - especially - french fries, too. They were probably deep fried the old fashioned way, in beef tallow or whatever it was. I was last there in 1972, and I still think about the place whenever I see a photo or a map or anything of that area.)
-
It is a dish I missed having when I became a vegetarian.
-
My mom and my sister's boyfriend both love liver and onions. I can't stand the smell...never could. :P
-
Sometimes I added sautéed mushrooms, something I don't remember my mother doing. Mostly I just did liver & onions.
-
But without the onions, it's pretty forlorn. They're what make it. I think I'd love adding mushrooms.
-
Wishing a wonderful celebration for the DM of DR John G.!!!!!
-
But without the onions, it's pretty forlorn. They're what make it. I think I'd love adding mushrooms.
Yes, I never made it without onions.
-
Back from picking up packages, banking, and then a faboo lunch at Casa Vega - the usual taco and enchilada combo.
-
I'm thinking that at home we might not have had much of the onion component. But I sire glommed onto it later.
And isn't (wasn't) liver and BACON a thing?
Just gimme all three, damn it.
-
Yes, liver and bacon was a thing. I didn't care for the combination.
-
I didn't dislike it. I loved a good Rumaki.
-
Thanks to covid gone are the days when you met the insurance appraiser at the shop.
-
I remember the shop appraiser & the insurance appraiser discussing what needed to be done and agreeing to the work right then.
-
Now it can take approximately two weeks, maybe even more, before the insurance appraiser even looks at the photos of our car online and bickers back and forth with the body shop.
-
Well, we drove halfway across town to discover the restaurant was closed.
-
Three!
-
Then we drove hither and yon to discover most places were closed, some permanently, some on Tuesdays.
-
The place we ended up at is one I like, but she didn’t like anything she had.
-
That's too bad, DR John G. You'll have to try again another day.
-
A friend of mine has recommended the new volume of the letters of author Shirley Jackson, out today:

Did you know that 1 out of 5 people suffer from loneliness?
-
So, if you look around and you don’t see the other 4 people, they’re out having fun without you.
-
After 35 years of marriage, a husband and wife came for counselling.
When asked what the problem was, the wife went into a passionate, painful tirade listing every problem they had ever had in the years they had been married. On and on and on: neglect, lack of intimacy, emptiness, loneliness, feeling unloved and unlovable, an entire laundry list of unmet needs she had endured.
-
Finally, after allowing this for a sufficient length of time, the therapist got up, walked around the desk and after asking the wife to stand, he embraced and kissed her long and passionately as her husband watched with a raised eyebrow.
-
The woman shut up and quietly sat down as though in a daze. The therapist turned to the husband and said, 'this is what your wife needs at least 3 times a week. Can you see to it?'
-
'Well,' he said, 'I can drop her off here on Mondays and Wednesdays, but on Fridays, I go fishing.'
-
I have a joke about time travel,
-
but I'm not gonna share it.
-
You guys didn't like it
-
I'm thinking of a career where I estimate crowd sizes at different outdoor events
-
. I wonder how many people are in that field.
-
Did You know there's no official training for trash collectors?
-
They just pick things up as they go along.
-
I was kidnapped by mimes once.
-
They did unspeakable things to me.

'Well,' he said, 'I can drop her off here on Mondays and Wednesdays, but on Fridays, I go fishing.'

I love liver and onions and bacon. As long as you marinate the liver in milk for 12 hours, or more.
-
I, also, love chicken livers and onions and mushrooms.
-
I, also, love chicken livers and onions and mushrooms.
I'm glad for you, Tom, but not I! :P
-
The 13 Coins Restaurant, both in downtown Seattle and across from the airport, serves a huge plate of chicken livers with onions and mushrooms.
-
Hi, Vixmom and Tom!
-
Hello, George.
-
Well, I was watching various YouTube videos of A Little Night Music.
-
I eventually came across this David Cavett interview with Glynis Johns and George Cukor and Alan King (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oFr63dHEhkA), and I wondered how old she is.
-
Happy 94th Birthday to John’s mother!
-
Well, Glynis is still alive and is 97 years old (she'll be 98 in October)!
-
Then, I wondered how old she was when she was in ALNM, and she was all of 49 years old.
-
Catherine Zeta-Jones was 40 years old when she was in the revival, and Bernadette Peters was 62 when she took over.
-
I am not a fan of liver and onions with or without bacon
-
But I do like chicken liver in stuffing
-
I'm happy for both of you liver-of-any-kind-loving persons...I really am.
-
Liver, at least as prepared by my mother, always made me want to vomit on the ground.
-
I'm here.
-
I'm still here.
-
Page six is a reality.
-
I'm still here.
A Stephen Sondheim reference!
-
;D
-
I'm happy for both of you liver-of-any-kind-loving persons...I really am.
Don’t worry, George, you are not alone in your dislike.
-

Good! :D
-
I am going to go to bed.
-
Good night, vixmom.
-
Good night, BK.
-
Good night to George.
-
Good night, Tom.
-
Today at work, I got most of my stuff cleared off my desk.
-
I still have one pile of stuff that I'm currently working on, so I didn't want to bury that in a box.
-
I don't know what time they'll move desks, but our computers won't be moved until Thursday.
-
The IT department has to make sure that all the network cables are hooked up correctly.
-
My co-worker Linda has a laptop with a full-sized keyboard, so she can work anywhere, but I have a desktop computer, to it's not as easy for me to just move somewhere.
-
But, as I always say, it'll be what it'll be.
-
I'm sure it won't be too difficult.
-
I'll be in a meeting tomorrow at noon with a rep from our major vendor, so that's a bit of time where I don't have to worry about moving.
-
I do have to make sure that I can get on my computer because I have a couple of questions that I need to ask for a co-worker who is now out on medical leave as of yesterday.
-
I only remember what one of the questions is, but not the other.
-
She sent it to me in an e-mail, but I'll have two hours to figure it all out, or to get help, so I know that it's not going to be a problem.
