Well, you've read the notes, the notes were a snooze and had news that was fit to print, and now it is time for you to post until the snoozing cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ADROIT!
-
~~~Sleep Vibes for BK and Anyone Else Who Needs 'Em!!~~~
-
Good morning, friends.
-
~~~CONTINUED VIBES OF ALL SORTS~~~ for bk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Good morning, all!
-
Today's Sunday morning listening is Rachmaninov's beautiful Vespers. After that, maybe a Schubert or Mozart mass.
-
Last night I slept very well, which is extremely rare in the past seven years since my body's gpomg to hell. I was javing quite an interesting dream when I awoke around 3:45, but I now remember none of it. When I fell back to sleep I dreamed I was at a concert in which John Mauceri played something I'd orchestrated. I was with one of my best college friends Matthew and some woman I did not recognize. After the concert I was to have dinner with Mauceri and Anthony Morelli's father, only I'd forgotten where.
-
Today I officially join the handicapped, and I will install a grab bar to my bathtub. I've gotten to the point where I cannot get in and out with some serious help.
-
BK, I am very happy your heartburn is over.
-
Kitty cleanup over and bed made, I've finished my devotional listening and I've moved to to Bryn Terfel's wonderful album of English, Scottish, Irish, and Welsh folk songs with beautiful arrangements by Chris Hazell, who also worked on his marvelous Christmas album, which contains Thatch's favorite, "Mary's Boy Child."

Car vibes and heartburn vibes for MR BK.
-
DR ELMORE I have a grab bar.....in the shower.....it is a suction thing and now and then in the middle of the night it falls off the wall and scares the hell out of me. But it is useful.
-
Cloudy day today.
I cannot eat anything today....and my prep starts at 5 p.m. So here we go.
-
James Darren and Robert Cobert have joined Robin Hood's Merry Men and are trying to get the king to sign the Magna Carta....I think Time Tunnel has mixed history up a bit.....
-
Well....according to Wikipedia....maybe it's not as mixed up as I thought.......
-
Well....according to Wikipedia....maybe it's not as mixed up as I thought.......
I was just about to post that I once worked on a second-rate musical, Magna Carta (which I called Lion In Winter Lite), and Robin Hood's King John signed it.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I woke WAY too early this morning -- like, about 4:00 a.m. -- when I had actually set the alarm for 7:00.
And with nary an interesting dream to recall.
Oh well.
-
Soon I must begin getting ready to go to Bedford Village, NY, for a long afternoon of Spartacus.
That, I know, will be most satisfying.
Afterwards, at 7:00 this evening, we have an auditioner to hear, in hopes of filling the one open slot of Wreck the Halls. Pray for that baby.
-
It's gratifying to hear that BK is enjoying the Steber/Tucker/Met recordings. Those are a treasure, and her voice indeed was something very special.
For me, both of their singing styles are right up there. I was privileged to have seen and heard Tucker in two of our concert opera productions in Cleveland and one at Meadow Brook, and Steber on any number of occasions. I wish I could have those days back.
-
Good morning, all.

Sunday morning greetings! Just checking in to say HI and let you know that Richard and I are OK. I'm involved this weekend in a virtual card making event with my sister, my niece, and 2000 crafters from all over the world. It's been nice to have a purposeful distraction while dealing with Covid.
-
And, thank you, all, for the vibes and well-wishes. Your concern means the world to me.
-
Hello everyone.....very fun new Broadway Radio Show is now up on the site. The wonderful Maxine Linehan is back to chat about her new live album What Would Petula Do? -- her homage to Petula Clark recorded live in Paris. It's a great new album and Maxine is always fun to talk to.

From DR Laura:
They have revised the security protocol this year. One can only take in a ziplock bag, and one must hold up their arms like you are being robbed while walking through the metal detector.
:o

DR ELMORE I have a grab bar.....in the shower.....it is a suction thing and now and then in the middle of the night it falls off the wall and scares the hell out of me. But it is useful.
I hope it doesn't fall off when you are using it.

Thanks for letting us know you are ok. I look forward to hearing you are done with Covid.

Bruce you can thank Covid for the reason your Pepcid is locked up:
"Common heartburn medication is going out of stock in popular US pharmacies
Major retailers such as Amazon, Walgreens appear to be experiencing shortages
Comes after doctors in China discovered that those over 80 with heartburn issues and used Pepcid had a higher coronavirus survival than those using pricier drug Prilosec
Pepcid contains famotidine and Prilosec contains omeprazole
Scientists suspect that in COVID-19, famotidine binds to the papainlike protease which helps pathogens replicate in the body and stops them replicating
Northwell Health has been injecting patients in New York with famotidine"
-
The reason for the study is interesting:
"In the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, doctors in Wuhan, China, noticed something surprising. Many of the elderly patients who survived the virus were poor – not exactly the demographic you would expect to fare well in a health crisis.
A review of the survivors’ medical records revealed that a significant number suffered from chronic heartburn and were taking an inexpensive drug called famotidine, the key ingredient in Pepcid. (Wealthier patients tended to take the more costly drug omeprazole, found in Prilosec.)"
-
From what I can tell the studies have shown mixed results with some saying yes, more saying no.
-
DR ELMORE I have a grab bar.....in the shower.....it is a suction thing and now and then in the middle of the night it falls off the wall and scares the hell out of me. But it is useful.
DR Jrand71, I just took a bath for two reasons: to test this new grab bar and I really needed one!
-
Back from my first dance lesson with a teacher I haven’t seen since covid started.
-
He put us through our paces.
-
He also told us that one of the instructors at that studio, who worked three jobs, died of covid a few weeks ago.

I love that Cosi Fan Tutte recording! This was recorded about the same time as the English recording of Die Fledermaus. The new Met director Rudolf Bing had initiated several productions in English, and I'm happy that Columbia recorded them. The English production of Cosi Fan Tutte was staged by Alfred Lunt, and for the recording Roberta Peters replaced Patrice Munsel, who was under contract to RCA.
-
I'm up, I'm up - about nine and a half hours of very needed sleep - had I not set the alarm I suspect I would have slept twelve hours.
-
;)
-
He also told us that one of the instructors at that studio, who worked three jobs, died of covid a few weeks ago.
That is sad.
-
I am not ready for 59 degree weather. I want to wear shorts again.
-
I am not ready for 59 degree weather. I want to wear shorts again.
Then come to Texas.
-
Up from a nap.
-
From a nap I’m up.
-
I have nothing earth-shattering to add at this time.
-
Getting to and from church this morning was difficult, as today is the day of the Twin Cities Marathon.
-
I was not running.
-
In case you were worried about that.
-
But I did walk for an hour on the treadmill this morning at a very fast pace.
-
The DH has a temp organist job at another church, and since we are down to being a one-car family, we had to leave the house at 7:00am.
-
So I was up very early.
-
Well, I did TELL you that it was not earth-shattering. :)
-
But it's some posts.
-
In case you were worried about that.
LOL, not at all.
-

Be safe and don't catch covid.

I am not ready for 59 degree weather. I want to wear shorts again.
Then come to Texas.
I would love to.
-
I just finished the Kennedy at 50 program, which I enjoyed more than not.
-
Kelli O'Hara sang a nice version of Take Me to the World.
-
The cast of Soft Power did "Democracy."
-
Darren Criss did an odd version of I Dreamed a Dream.
-
Let's move on ...
-
Three!
-
A truly beautiful pair of dancers did the pas de deux from On the Town.
-
And there was some classical, hip-hop, blues, jazz, bluegrass. I skipped the parts I didn't care for.
-
It's on pbs.org
-
He also told us that one of the instructors at that studio, who worked three jobs, died of covid a few weeks ago.
Oh, no. :( My condolences to his family and friends.
-
I just finished the Kennedy at 50 program, which I enjoyed more than not.
I haven't watched it, yet.
-
Made stuffed peppers for dinner tonight. Nice filling of tomatoes, garlic, feta and black olives. I added scallions, too.
-
I had some chicken tortilla soup that I got from Costco.
-
I didn't have any sour cream, so I added some cream cheese that I had.
-
It was good, but I had a little too much...which is not unusual for me. ::)
-
;)
-
Sounds good, George.
-
I'm on a depression kick.
-
I've started listening to the new Sally Rooney novel, Beautiful World, Where Are You. The title alone should give you a clue.
-
For a break, I started watching Mare of Easttown. Not exactly uplifting, even if it is good.
-
Maybe I'll get through the first episode tonight.
-
Maybe I won't.
-
Looking at the news and all these politicians hiding billions everywhere doesn't make me feel any better.
-
:(
-
'night
-
I have been up since 3:30am, so I am going to bed.
-
Good night, friends.
-
Thanks DR JANE - I always reset it before a shower......DR ELMORE's is a different animal altogether.
-
Prep for tomorrow is moving right along.....
I have to get up at six a.m. for a second round.
Kinda hungry......but that's life.
-
Vibes for JRand.
-
Sounds good, George.
It wasn't too bad.
-
Vibes for JRand.
~~~Super Ditto!!~~~
-
Quiet around these parts today.
-
Why are still on page three?
-
Let's move on ...
-
Four!
-
Hello, 0 guests!
-
Good night, all.
-
Why are still on page three?
I'm typing up notes for my work.
-
I just put my third load of laundry in the dryer, and now need to wash one of my blankets.
-
Wait a damn minute - I thought today was supposed to basically be a ME day. And yet...
-
The two-hour singer rehearsal lasted three-hours. The one-hour Zoom lasted two-and-a-half hours.
-
I ate, did a computer update - no restart needed and yet something screwed up and the Safari update wouldn't complete so I had to shut off the damn computer and restart. That, of course, takes fifteen minutes or more. Then a conversation about casting. Then a quick Gelson's run. And then trying to finish the damn other play - which does have some very amusing things in it. I made it through act one, so there's another thirty-something pages to go.
-
That's some ME day.
-
Now, get me off this damn page.
-
Listening to the Pinella opera - very appealing, actually - and VERY Spanish in flavor.
-
Great! 101 posts!
-
Page 4!
-
Nowhere to go but up.
-
Or down, as the posts flow.
-
Tonight I watched DIANA: THE MUSICAL
-
Well, someone had to bite the bullet and watch.
-
I almost quit after the first half hour.
-
But I stuck it out.
-
It wasn’t completely horrible.
-
Although, I think the lyricist should be sent to the Tower of London.
-
Judy Kaye was pretty good.
-
She plays Queen Elizabeth.
-
Unfortunately, the way they dressed her, she looks more like Kate Smith
-
It is a pity they didn’t film the show in front of a live audience.
-
Or, maybe they did, and it was worse than I thought it was.
-
I hope it doesn't fall off when you are using it.
That is what our boy’s health teacher kept telling us.
-
I had chicken stroganoff for dinner tonight.
-
It was pretty good.
-
It was from Home Chef.
-
Page five (finally)
-
I am listening to THE PROM.
-
The movie soundtrack, because I like it better than the Broadway recording.
-
He also told us that one of the instructors at that studio, who worked three jobs, died of covid a few weeks ago.
My deepest sympathies.
-
I just finished the Kennedy at 50 program, which I enjoyed more than not.
Did you say it was at PBS@com?
-
It was chilly all day.
-
I hated to put on the heat, but I refuse to be too cold.
-
I forgot to check tomorrow’s weather forecast.
-
Hello, George.
-
Tonight I watched DIANA: THE MUSICAL
I'll have to "borrow" my sister's Netflix password.
-
Hi, Tom.
-
Will these posts ever end?
-
It wasn’t completely horrible.
That's...encouraging. ;)
-
Judy Kaye was pretty good.
I do love me some Judy Kaye!
-
Good night, George. See you, all, later.
-
Good night, Tom.
-
Well, I got all (most?) of my notes typed up for work.
-
Of course, they're fairly unorganized, and I don't know what might be missing, but hopefully, my co-worker who is going on vacation again on Thursday can look through them and at least let me know what's missing.
-
The order is less important right now.
-
I'm sure that I can figure out all of that.
-
...eventually.
