It's gratifying to hear that BK is enjoying the Steber/Tucker/Met recordings. Those are a treasure, and her voice indeed was something very special.
For me, both of their singing styles are right up there. I was privileged to have seen and heard Tucker in two of our concert opera productions in Cleveland and one at Meadow Brook, and Steber on any number of occasions. I wish I could have those days back.

Cosi Fan Tutte recording! This was recorded about the same time as the English recording of
Die Fledermaus. The new Met director Rudolf Bing had initiated several productions in English, and I'm happy that Columbia recorded them. The English production of
Cosi Fan Tutte was staged by Alfred Lunt, and for the recording Roberta Peters replaced Patrice Munsel, who was under contract to RCA.
