Good morning, friends.
It's a sad day for this country.
One year ago, 245 years of our Republic, founded as a Constitutional Democracy, came to a crashing end. It is not an irreparable ending, of course, but the forces that set all that in motion remain steadfastly determined to make it happen again.
Pray for all of us.
;)
What about "Romans"....and "Countrymen"?
What about "Romans"....and "Countrymen"?
The Romans, I'll give you. I'm not too keen on many of my Countrymen at the moment.
Good morning.
On a brighter note, the geese have returned to the pond behind my house.
I haven't seen the geese since early last summer. They have been around, but in a pond separated from mine by a road.
On this day of infamy, it is good to remember that the same people that scaled the wall were the ones demanding a wall at our Southern border.
Today is Epiphany, or Three Kings Day, in the Christmas calendar.
I would like to offer this selection.

It's a phone-camera jpeg about 140 kb in size. This has happened to a few of us over the past several months. I believe each time it's happened to me, it's been a photo I've copied from my iPhotos to Preview and resized to fit. That usually works as it should, but once a particular image has "failed security checks", there's seemingly nothing I can do to change that.
Does anyone. Still wear. Ahatcat?

That's so weird! It hasn't happened to me...yet. :-\

While I am happy to see geese, I am being reminded how NOISY they are.
My yard is the preferred location for their annual mating rituals. It gets VERY noisy at times.
Four years ago today, we had our last seriously cold snap. i took this picture of geese on our frozen pond.

As if I weren’t reading enough books already, I started Laurie Lee’s travel memoir, As I Walked Out One Midsummer Morning, last night and did not want to put it down.
It's been a good day, overall. Access-a-Ride was on time for both trips, and my 6:00 treatments have been moved to late morning.

I’m back at the dentist.

Thus concludes this edition of body parts in hymnody.
I thought I could take it, but watching a bit of the news here and there and seeing those images from a year ago......just make me mad all over again....and wonder why people believe lies and liars who tell them......

That reminds me of a line from a movie (but I don’t remember the movie):
"Our Father who art in heaven, Harold be thy name."
:))
Getting colder here.

That seems so odd, that they can't or won't make that kind of change.
I wonder if it's possible to simply ask the driver on the return trip to let you off there because of a last minute change in plans? How could they refuse? (Oh, I know. They'll find a way.) :(

What a thankless day it has been!
I put today aside as Target Day, the day I take my new iPhone over to the Consumer Cellular section of Target to get it activated. I called first, just to make sure I didn't need to charge it first or something. Good thing I did: no charging needed, but I do need to bring in the account number and a special pin. How do I obtain those? There's no paper bill and I could not find the account number anywhere in my phone. I went round and round with AT&T phone trees, which say they will connect you to an actual person, but never do. They do say over and over how much they appreciate your business and such. I finally was able to live-chat with someone, but her English wasn't all there and the first number she gave me was incorrect, so I don't really trust it. Gawd! I won't have time to go to Target again until next week and will have to somehow obtain a CORRECT account number and pin before then. Could they make it any more difficult?
I then did a load of laundry so I could feel I got something done today.

Sorry. You'll be discussing an implant?
Thanks, Ron.
They taste good, too. Just saying.
I don't suppose anyone here is watching "Project Runway"??
Going-home-early vibes to DR George. Of course, you'll all that waiting for you when the system is back up. Sigh.
George, I hope you got connection again.
