On a brighter note, the geese have returned to the pond behind my house.

I haven't seen the geese since early last summer. They have been around, but in a pond separated from mine by a road.

I read an article saying that the gas prices in Texas jumped because of the cold weather and that it bodes ill if we have snow again.

The snow is coming down heavily in Lexington, KY, where my sister Annaliese lives.

Bogdanovich never repeated the high marks set by his first three successes. But his film books, interviews and writing are treasures.

It's a phone-camera jpeg about 140 kb in size. This has happened to a few of us over the past several months. I believe each time it's happened to me, it's been a photo I've copied from my iPhotos to Preview and resized to fit. That usually works as it should, but once a particular image has "failed security checks", there's seemingly nothing I can do to change that.

That's so weird!  It hasn't happened to me...yet.

One year ago today, 245 years of our Republic, founded as a Constitutional Democracy, came under attack.  The forces that set all that in motion remain steadfastly determined to make it happen again.

While I am happy to see geese, I am being reminded how NOISY they are.

My yard is the preferred location for their annual mating rituals.  It gets VERY noisy at times.

  They are also very messy which is why we have to keep them off of the lawn here.
