Well, you've read the notes, the notes played whilst BK fixed, and now it is time for you to post until the playing and fixing cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: YAKKA!
-
A very happy birthday to one time dear reader Edisaurus.
-
Happy Birthday to Edisaurus!
-
Topic of the Day:
Lauren Bacall:
Applause (TV Movie)
How to Marry a Millionaire
Key Largo
Rock Hudson:
Pillow Talk (I think that this is the only movie of his that I've seen)
-
Good morning to all

The Big Sleep
To Have and Have Not
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Prayers for those in the path of the latest storms.
-
Here, there's no snow predicted. However, it's currently -7 (real temp), and tomorrow we'll have a high of 2. I'm kind of glad not to have a dog right now.
-
In all the years we have owned dogs, we've never had a situation with a fenced yard or a dog door. We've always taken our dogs outside on leads. Which is good to get up and get moving.

Ghibli Park, inspired by the movies, is opening in Japan at the end of the year.

From out of nowhere in particular:
-
It is Thursday again.
I accept that.
But, where the heck is February in such a hurry to go?
The third of February already?
-
Happily, I have no snow or ice to keep me indoors and none to slog through.
None to clean off my car. No worries about slipping and sliding. And, particularly, no worries about being slipped or slidden into.
Thank goodness for The Weather Channel. I can see all of that mess in real time without having to experience it.
-
Good morning, all!
-
Good morning, Larry Moore!
-
Starbucks is raising its prices again.

Starbucks is raising its prices again.
-
Thursday morning greetings! We are iced in. You know it’s bad in Middletown when Central Pastry closes…
-
Good morning.
-
My DH was having some weird dreams last night. He kicked me in the head.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I didn't say that already, did I? :)
What, now I have to ask? But I've been up for a while and have been busy doing a few things and who the hell knows. Seriously, who in the HELL knows?
-
today I must use the bank drive-thru and pick up a few things in Shop Rite. I think that's all. Then I'll thankfully be home the rest of the day.
-
Holy moley, what a great Puccini score BK has.
-
And the word of the day is: YAKKA!
He's really quite the singer. Always enjoy seeing and hearing him.
-
And the word of the day is: YAKKA!
I lived just a block north of there.
-
I'm here all week!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Power went out at about 7 am. Still out.
-
Two!
-
I am dragging myself around today. After kitty cleanup, I lay down for a minute that turned into 90. Now I have to get ready to leave.
-
Vibes for DR ELMORE.
-
Haircutting vibes for MR BK.
-
Lots of snow last night. Still snowing. It's hard to tell how much is falling because it is blowing as well......
Indiana has shut down for the day - for the most part.
-
TOD:
Written on the Wind is a great favorite around these parts.
Lauren Bacall:
A Woman's World - she plays opposite Fred MacMurray and they are great together!
..and those already mentioned.
Rock Hudson:
His trilogy with Miss Doris Day.
Giant
Ice Station Zebra
The Undefeated
Magnificent Obsession
All That Heaven Allows
-
When I was a TEA-Najer there were two stars whose movies were never missed:
Mr. Elvis Presley and Mr. Rock Hudson.
-
And the word of the day is: YAKKA!
He's really quite the singer. Always enjoy seeing and hearing him.
He has a brother, doesn't he, who is also in music? Yanni?
-
It is overcast today.
Rain (and ONLY rain) is in the forecast for the coming three days.
-
Lauren Bacall: "How to Marry A Millionaire"
Rock Hudson: "Seconds"
-
Power is back on. Other areas now out. The cycle begins again
-
Golly! No one has posted here since John G's last post? This was up a while ago when I was last here.
Of course, time isn't flying as fast as I feel it has.
-
There is "a" guest perusing the board.
It would be nice if the guest joined us.
-
Of course, the guest could simply be a member not logged in.
-
I haven't accomplished too very much yet today. Went to the post office twice. Had lunch. Had a telephonic doctor's visit.
i had a good night's sleep, but I have been fighting sleepiness the past few hours. I guess haviing chili for lunch didn't actually awaken me.
-
I finally got my ta document that I need to do my taxes. So I shall do that on this sn**y afternoon.]
-
The reviews for MJ The Musical seem to say that the musical recreations of the music are good but that there's not a lot of reality in the story.....which takes place in 1992 before any of the allegations were made public.....
-
I'm up, I'm up - have been up since seven-thirty doing stuff. Four hours of sleep. Haircut in 55 minutes.
-
Internet and power keep flickering off and on.
-
I'm finally home. The ride to Lenox Hill was on time. The return ride was 45 minutes late.
-
Still s**wing.....and windy.
-
Mary & Lou are on a date.
Mary Tyler Moore and Ed Asner are doing a terrific job. I like both of them.....and of course the writing is A+.
-
I loved that episode. It really showed me how much the characters had grown and changed over the years.
-
Barnum keeps looking at the snow and telling me all about it......
-
Starbucks is raising its prices again.

My furnace wasn't coming on.....I was in a panic mode until I realized what to do.
I checked in the furnace room. The cover had come off on one side. I put it back in place....and HEAT!
-
Hair is cut and cut is hair.
-
Now I must be on my way to do some errands and whatnot - probably an hour's worth o' stuff, then food.
-
DR John you fresh made rice noodles sound good, not with shrimp though, just the veggies and some tofu if they have it.
-
DR TCB,
brunch
/brən(t)SH/
Learn to pronounce
noun
a late morning meal eaten instead of breakfast and lunch.
;)
Yes, typically we do brunch on Sundays, and very occasionally on weekdays.
-
From DR TCB:
Tomorrow (today for you in the East) marks 8 weeks since I fell down and went boom.
Wow, eight weeks already. I bet they seemed a lot longer to you.
-
For DR Edisaurus, another cat lover.

Cool.
-
My DH was having some weird dreams last night. He kicked me in the head.
:o Your head!
Are you ok?
Am I allowed to laugh?
-
The sleet storm continues, but it's beginning to change over to snow.
-
They have it with lamb, Jane, which is what I had for lunch. I saw no tofu on the menu, but I think they would do just veg.
-
I had a very weird dream around the time the power went off. I was stranded at a book signing with Stephen King, who was nice enough, except he wasn’t talking. At least not until I mentioned a 19th century novel that he liked. That got him talking. Then he was ready to pose for photos and everything.
-
Happy birthday, Edisaurus!
-

That works., just veggies not lamb.
Lamb was actually my favorite dish and the first I gave up before becoming a vegetarian. I don't count not eating bacon anymore as that was simply because it is so bad for you.

Ummm....
-
So good for the soul
-
Ummm....
I love it!!!!

One exceptionally nice thing my company has done today is to text all employees:
USAA Roadside is happy to support employees who have been affected by the latest weather impacts. USAA employees will talk with a dedicated USAA Roadside Associate for help with a jump-start, fuel delivery, tire change, lock-out assistance, or a tow to a repair facility. This will be provided at no charge to the employee. To initiate a request, please dial …
-
It's just about 5 p.m. here. It is 70 degrees outside. Feels rather good, although it's overcast and threatening rain.
-
Ummm....
I love it!!!!
:D
-
HHW.com seems to be on Mountain Time.
-
Ah...deja vu...I have suddenly recalled saying something like that in the distant past.
-
Back from the errands, got Taco Bell for food, have eaten said food, and must now write liner notes.
-
Good afternoon!
-
Someone went to the Hugh Jackman revival of The Music Man and this was reported:
These are the new opening lyrics for Shipoopi in this revival, per a friend who took notes - I guess the PC Police have struck River City:
“Now a fella who goes on his very first date is usually shy and fretful, and a fella who goes for more than a kiss will end the night regretful, but a fella who waits for his gal to say when, head in the clouds, shout amen, he's the guy she'll date again, he's her shipoopi!”
-
I would assume the person who rewrote this would receive some sort of [dis]credit in the program.
-
Our county is now on a Level 2 snow emergency.

Wow, this is impressive.

HHW.com seems to be on Mountain Time.
Hmm, it is 2:57 here.
-
Two post up the time said 01:38:25 PM. The post immediately above this, and posted just after the showing a 1:38 time, says 02:00:27 PM.
I wonder what this post will show.
-
Last post was all caught up to the correct time.
-
BTW, good catch DR Ron.
-
Our county is now on a Level 2 snow emergency.
Oh, I hope you plan to stay home.

Our county is now on a Level 2 snow emergency.
Oh, I hope you plan to stay home.
That has been our plan since Monday. There are people who are acting like this storm has come as a big surprise.
-
LOL, and now they are rushing to stock up on food ;)
-
It is nice to be retired and not be required to be someplace in weather like this.
-
Be retired and not required.
That is the title of my new memoir.
-
So true. I am relieved Bryan isn't working tonight.
-
Stay warm and safe vibes for DR Ginny and DH Richard!
-
Everything is iced over here. Some of the trees look the worst for it. I wonder if the olive will survive. The loquat tree looks weighted down, and this year's crop is lost. It's all sad.
-
Listening to a funny novel called Olga Dies Dreaming. There was a quote from Sweeney Todd in it.
-
I am glad I don't have to go out for anything.
-
But what do I want to do?
-
Gratuitous post No. 99!
-
Our county is now on a Level 2 snow emergency.
What does Level 2 mean?

I am sorry you have lost your loquat crop. Vibes the olive tree will survive.
-
It is 7:28p.m. here in SC. The time hack on here says it's 5:28. That's only two hours. Shouldn't it be three?
-
Yes it should. I wonder why my times corrected and your times did not.
-
Doesn't sound like Encores' revised version of The Tap Dance Kid is doing the show many favors. I saw the near-perfect tour with the great Harold Nicholas as Grandaddy, Dule' Hill as the kid and the phenomenal Martine Allard as his sister.
-
The script was always the problem. The writer could never decide if he wanted to be faithful to the original Louise Fitzhugh novel or not. Since nobody knew really knew the book, Nobody's Family Is Going to Change, the creators should have been bold and veered far from it. Instead, all they did was tame her ending, pleasing nobody.
In the original story of a Black family, a lawyer father hates that his overweight daughter wants to be a lawyer while his son wants to be a tap dancer. No. He won't have it. He draws a line, and they cross it. The kid becomes a superstar, who becomes bigger every year, while his sister becomes his attorney. They basically ignore their father, because they knew, as they sing in one song, "we were right all along."
I don't know that adult audiences would want to see that. But if that's the case, why not keep working at it and create something really new?
-

Oh, no! :(

Yes it should. I wonder why my times corrected and your times did not.
Each person can set the time to display whatever time zone that they're in. It's somewhere in each person's profile setup.

I didn't do anything and it was screwy earlier.

'night
-
Went to the post office twice.
The postman always rings twice.
-
It's been a whirl of day.
-
I'm up against a hard deadline at work, but I think I'm going to make it by close of business tomorrow.
-
Walleye and Brussels for supper tonight.
-
And now I'm pooped.
-
Happy Birthday, former DR Edisaurus!
-
Lucky #117
-
Superfluous #118
-
Egregious #119
-
PAGE FIVE!!!!!
-
Too pooped to dance.
-
Good night, friends.
-
Walleye and Brussels for supper tonight.
Are those your neighbors' real names, or are they nicknames?
-
We are getting very sleepy here in SC.
I needs must get some rest, I guess.
-
It's awfully tired out there tonight.
-
The power flickered off and on twice tonight, and it caused me to lose about two hours worth of work, even though I had been careful about saving things. Ugh.
-
Listening to some interesting stuff tonight. A new recording of Brahms' Fourth Symphony that sounded like it was recorded from the far end of a tunnel. Folk songs from Benjamin Britten. Now, a song cycle from Flaherty and Ahrens.
-
I have hauled out the weighted blanket for a first use. It's already 26 out there.
-
And I'm late for bed.
-
Good night, all.
-
The Shipoopi redo is shameful - like people are soooo concerned that audiences will be triggered by lyrics to a song being sung in River City at the time this show takes place. And the culprits are Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman.
-
Wonderful news from the Haverty clan - Hartley birthed her boy just a few hours ago - young Maxwell - came out early, could not wait, umbilical cord tied in knots - he's healthy and they all come home tomorrow.
-
I was so zonked that I got in bed and slept for two hours.
-
I think it made me more zonked.
-
Yes it should. I wonder why my times corrected and your times did not.

Congrats to Hartley and Maxwell!

You only have one olive?

And the word of the day is: YAKKA!
He's really quite the singer. Always enjoy seeing and hearing him.
He has a brother, doesn't he, who is also in music? Yanni?
Yanni lived here in Tacoma for several years. At the time, he was going with Linda Evans when she still had her home in Lakewood.
-
I saw the listing photos for Yanni’s shack. It was quite stunning.
-
But what do I want to do?
I am having chili tomorrow for dinner. I would kill to have an onion. Oh well, I have lots of shredded cheese.
-

So, in other words, he gets bigger every year, while she gets smaller every year?

Seems more like eight months.

Walleye and Brussels for supper tonight.
David, I didn’t realize you eat seafood.
-
Happy Birthday, Edisaurus!!
-
Tomorrow, I'm not going to play cards with my mom and her friends.
-
I'm still not comfortable with me being around them because they're older and have other medical issues, even though everyone is vaccinated.
-
But what do I want to do?
I am having chili tomorrow for dinner. I would kill to have an onion. Oh well, I have lots of shredded cheese.
Yes! Chili needs onions!
Well, George, FedEx me an onion.
-
I'll wait until next week, but in the meantime...
-
PAGE SIX DANCE!!

I ordered it on December 7, and April 7 will be the four months estimate. Monday will be the halfway point!
