~~~A Big Bunch of the Strongest Most Excellent Vibes and Xylophones for BK and the Cast of L.A. Now and Then!!~~~
I have found the videos about the restorations of the three panel cinerama films fascinating. All the work that goes into it to save a part of film history. I always wished to have seen one. However by the time I was old enough to go to the movies the 3 panels was a thing of the past replaced by 70mm ultra Panavision. I believe I saw some movies but never on a large curved screen because if I did I’m sure I’d remember it.
It was chilly last night. Around 4:00 Annabelle crawled under the blankets with me, and Thatch settled next to me shortly after that. Last week, after our DR vixmom submitted my name to the Penzey spices people that I needed a hug, I received a fluffy blanket from them with their good wishes. It's at the foot of my bed with the cats' kitty blanket, and Stella has dec lared them her territory.
DR elmore3003, sorry. My comment about hominy was just a joke. I have never encountered it myself.
DR Jrand71, I, too, love "It Never Entered My Mind," especially the 2nd verse: the man who came to dinner lets me eat alone.
I wish I had thew funding to record these wonderful Rodgers & Hart scores:
I Married an Angel
Higher and Higher
Chee-Chee
Peggy-Ann
Too Many Girls
In fact, I can probably declare pretty accurately to DR Ron Pulliam that my first grits were had in the Carolinas on our first drives down there from Ohio. By the time we were settled in Fort Lauderdale, grits were a regular thing for us. I certainly continued loving hash browns and such as an alternative, but I really took to being a South Florida Southerner in those days.
DR Ron thanks for the report on "A Dog's Purpose".
Elmore, do you have access to pbs.org? It should be on there.
That cake looks big enough to serve 57 guests, DR Jane! :)
DR Ron thanks for the report on "A Dog's Purpose".
I have to tell you that the dog in question has a progression of lives and masters, one of whom is the primary and to whom the dog keeps returning.
With every passing, though, the tears flowed.
Several days ago, DR JohnG mentioned watching Just Around the Corner. I knew my favorite Shirley Temple song, "I Love to Walk in the Rain," was in the film, but I'd never seen it. Lat night we watched it. It's not a great movie, but it kept a big smile on my face throughout, and I loved the cast, especially Joan Davis and Bill Robinson, and the Big Song, which made me weep with joy.
It's time to break my fast:
The telephone conversation went well. I hope the good luck continues.
On Friday I attended the farewell party for two coworkers. It was outdoors.
Got a message today that one had tested positive for covid. I don’t know if it’s between insurance policies for her.
So, I had to take a test today. Negative.
We went to the arboretum again today. Spring is moving along, and it will soon be too hot to go outside.
Ordered in a BLTA and ate that - very good. Allergies continue. Then had to go get a rapid test at the theater - negative.
I have a 7am blood draw tomorrow morning, so I'm off to bed.
DR JOHN G what is a castration musical?
Back from a lovely day visiting with my high school friend. We walked. We ate. We talked. It's like the intervening years never happened!
DR JOHN G what is a castration musical?
A musical in which one of the plot lines deals with the castration or potential castration of a character. In Chee-Chee, it's a leading character, as I recall. The Knife is another castration musical, or just a transgender musical. Splitting hairs?
Today was my lastdateappointment with Eric.
Not enough page five.
Hello, George.
Is there any difference on the discs?
Is there any difference on the discs?
I don't think so. I think they have the exact same content, just different covers. I don't know why.
Since that's a John Yap production, when was it recorded? 1950?
