Well, you've read the notes, the notes told a tale of two lunches, and now it is time for you to post until the two-lunch cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: CYGNET!
-
Topic of the Day:
Cormoran Strike
The Dresden Files
The Expanse
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

Continuing from last night...the Indiegogo campaign for Code 8 (https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/code-8-a-film-from-robbie-stephen-amell/x/5266254#/) had three of "Sutcliffe's Marble Ring." This is the picture from the campaign page:
-
But this is the actual ring that I received:
-
It's not hard to tell that those are different rings...HOWEVER, here's a screenshot of the actual ring that the character of Sutcliff wore in the movie:
-
It is possible that all three rings were worn in the movie in different scenes, but if you look closely, this is too similar to mine to be a different ring.
-
And this ring has definitely been worn:
-
That's exactly what it looked like when I got it. And I'm not getting it "fixed." It actually fits my middle finger, so it stays bent. ;D
-
And now, I'm off to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
It's a dark, rainy morning. The humidity is high, and I want to gop back to bed.
-
I had one piece of good news: my contract for the ballet is in the works. I'll rest easy when I know the Ohio property sells.
-
TOD
Carl Hiaasen's novels are not really a series, but characters from one book occasionally wander into another,
For a while, after reading the horror novel Relic, which Amazon now calls Agent Pendergast Series #1, I read books by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. After #4 or 5, I got tired of them.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Interesting ring, DR George.
-
Today is Thursday, I think.
-
That's about all I know, at present.
-
At least partial good news, DR elmore3003!
-
Good morning, all.

I had a good night's sleep, but had the strangest dream.
I was in an office building and needed to get to a different floor. I found an elevator, pushed the button, and the door opened. A young woman was inside looking a bit put out that I had interrupted her journey. As it turns out, this elevator only went up one more floor.
From there, I found another elevator. Many folks were in it and each of us was gong to a different floor. For whatever reason, every time someone got off, he or she would hold the door and start talking to someone still inside the elevator. This got to be quite annoying.
I finally got to my floor, found my office, opened the door and no one was inside. I don't know why or any other thing about this stupid dream.

I had thought I might visit my chiropractor today for a minor tune-up. Alas, I called and they are closed all this week for vacation. They will reopen Monday.

From a British news story:
The most boring person in the world has been discovered by University of Essex research - and it is a religious data entry worker, who likes watching TV, and lives in a town.
After examining more than 500 people across five experiments researchers found the blandest jobs are seen as data analysis, accounting, cleaning and banking.
The paper – published in the Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin – also discovered that religion, watching TV, bird watching, and smoking were amongst the dullest hobbies.
-
The No. 1 dullest hobby was sleeping. I take that as a personal offense.
-
The Brits did have a word for it:
-
Good morning, all.
-
BK’s two lunches were certainly a lot more balanced than my two cookout meals on Memorial Day. I think I’m still a bit stuffed from that.
-
The rehearsal formerly known as a performance is, in fact, canceled for tonight - at least for the band and perhaps a few others. I think they’re going to have a li’l put-in piano rehearsal on selected scenes and call it a day. I still don’t know which person tested positive, but maybe they’re working out a replacement. We’ll find out tomorrow.
-
Well that's theeder in 2022 I guess DR CHAS SMITH.
-
Are folks in theatrical productions testing for COVID-19 every day as a precaution, or are they testing when they feel ill?
-
It's overcast here this morning and around 76 degrees. The weather forecast claims it's mostly sunny (not here, though) and that we'll have a high of 92 degrees.
It looks like rain, but it's possibly just a remnant of a front that passed through overnight.
-
I must say that I enjoyed OLIVER! last night.
The kids were very good - although the girl who played Oliver was very tall!
Everyone was fine and the character actors all played to the rafters and were very funny. I most enjoyed Mr. Bumble and Widow Corney...."Then I say the law is an ASS!"
-
The audience was rowdy - we had about 3/4's of a house which is good for a Wednesday.
-
Saturday is my niece's Dance Recital, which I guess I will attend.....it begins at 3 p.m. and I expect it to last until about midnight. :)
-
Check vibes for MR BK.
-
Congrats to DR ELMORE - At The Ballet at last.
-
I shall have to think about the TOD but off the top of my head:
Nancy Drew
Lord John Gray - two books and some short stories
Sherlock Holmes
-
I am also intrigued by the SPAN setting....but of course I only have one monitor....but I had never heard of such a thing.
-
A nine-hour dance recital, Jack?
Holy cow!!
-
I’m spuddling through my day today.

I’m sorry. Here’s where your negativity comes in handy.

From John:
This is another headline you don't see often:
Geico ordered to pay $5 to woman who contracted STD in man's car.
:o
-
I wish the "search" option worked better.

That's exactly what it looked like when I got it. And I'm not getting it "fixed." It actually fits my middle finger, so it stays bent. ;D
Cool.

My uncle is leaving rehab and going home next Thursday.
That is good news. Will he have help once he is home?

Beyond his wife? Maybe. Don’t know. His daughter sends texts. They’re not overloaded with information.

Are folks in theatrical productions testing for COVID-19 every day as a precaution, or are the testing when they feel ill?
This place requires weekly testing one day before each week's (i.e., the weekend, or whatever days are involved) performances resume. We were to have a show tonight, so yesterday was our testing date. I think the other local theeders are requiring the same weekly testing, while the venues that are strictly professional might be doing it daily.

The wonderful Charlotte Moore of the Irish Rep just stopped by to take Joshie the scores I proofed. She and Stella gort along famously.

I had one piece of good news: my contract for the ballet is in the works. I'll rest easy when I know the Ohio property sells.
Very good news, and Continued Good Luck, Larry!!

Interesting ring, DR George.
Thanks...I certainly think so. :)
-
The Brooks Atkinson is being renamed the Lena Horne.
-
Glad for your good news, DR John G.!!

Does anyone under the age of 40 know Lena Horne?

Good afternoon!
-
My uncle is leaving rehab and going home next Thursday.
Great news, John!
-
I have just been reminded that the Tony Awards are this Sunday.

Does anyone under the age of 40 know Lena Horne?
Did they even know who Brooks Atkinson was?

At my work, we get an e-mail saying that a person (anonymous, of course) tested positive on a particular day...one e-mail per person. We've gotten four, count 'em, FOUR e-mails in the last THREE days!! :o

During Mamma Mia!, we got tested by the theater group at the beginning of each week, but would have to let them know if we felt sick at any point.

Thursday afternoon greetings! Today our sweet granddaughter Charlotte is 2 years old. We celebrated by going to the grocery store.

DR RON PULLIAM not an actual nine hours......just the feeling when you leave that you have been there that long.

A Very Happy 2nd Birthday to SG (Sweet Granddaughter) Charlotte!! :D

I'm up, I'm up - was up early and then had to go back to bed.

I think I got eight hours of sleep.
-
No one listened to the songs posted in the notes? I think I read every post and unless I missed it, didn't see a comment.
-
Oh...I shall go back and listen.....
-
Happy Birthday, Charlotte!
-
I'd listened to them last night and forgot to post anything this morning. Every one of these folks is excellent, including Cassie Nickols on the ivories.
-
DR ELMORE I too am interested in the January 6 Commission.....I will probably watch on PBS because I don't need a commentator like Norah O'Donnell or a CNN talking ahead telling me what they are saying.
-
Oh HELL yes, that's the only way to watch.
-
Thank you, DRs George and JRand!

The TOD is a hard one, soooo many to choose from.
Perfect timing, I just received notification from my library that the current Maisie Dobbs book is available for me to check out.

For those who don't want to wait - the new title is live:
New Kritzerland release - the new off-Broadway cast recording of Love Quirks - previews begin on June 16 at the AMT Theater on West 45th Street. A delightful score by Seth Bisen-Hersh, book by Mark Childers, directed by Brian Childers, about which Broadway World said: “With a score that shines and four strong performers each struggling through very different love stories, Love Quirks is If/Then meets First Date – a new musical for a new generation of a new New York.” You can read more about it and hear audio samples at www.kritzerland.com or directly at http://kritzerland.com/quirks.htm
I believe our very own FJL had something to do with this recording. Order away.
-
In other news, books are on their way finally and should be here very soon.
-
Harry Bosch (Connelly)
Andy Carpenter in the series by David Rosenfelt
Cork O'Connor in the series by William Kent Krueger ( fairly recent discovery)

The McCaskill family in Ivan Doig's novels
Chief Inspector Armand Gamache the people of Three Pines (Louise Penny series)
Sebastian St. Cyr, Viscount Devlin & his wife Hero in the series by C.S. Harris
Walt Longmire, his very funny & beautiful deputy Vic and his best friend Henry Standing Bear (Craig Johnson)
Bess Crawford & Simon Brandon (Charles Todd series)
Wooster & Jeeves (Wodehouse)
-
DR John, who is Blandings?
-
Congratulations on the new release, bk.
-
I haven't had time yet to listen to all the Kritzerland videos, but did listen to the one about LA streets and traffic - fantastic!
-

I listened to them last night, after Singdaw posted about them. :)

Now you can watch the Jan. 6 hearings!
Tonight's hearings were pretty damning, I thought. I have to wonder, though, whether the public's interest is there.
-
The public should be made to watch this. We mostly know that the people who SHOULD be watching, won't be.
-
Been watching the hearings
-
It’s sickening that the persons responsible for initiating this haven’t been locked up long ago
-
DR John, who is Blandings?
Blandings was an estate with some very quirky characters. The TV series was excellent.
-
Good night, all.
-
So, I just added Love Quirks to CastAlbums.org (https://castalbums.org/recordings/Love-Quirks-2022-Original-Off-Broadway-Cast/47025/). :)
-
Yes, the hearings - sadly, the Republicans aren't watching at all, and the Republicans in office deflect by talking about gas prices. They should all be run out of office. But they sure were talking about it the day it happened and running like little cowards to their safe place.
-
I didn't realize that Love Quirks was already available as a digital download from Amazon.com (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B1W172H9/).

It is possible that all three rings were worn in the movie in different scenes, but if you look closely, this is too similar to mine to be a different ring.

I have to wait until tomorrow because I can’t get the Vimeo to play on my iPad.

I finally got to see COME FROM AWAY tonight.
-
It was wonderful.

Today I saw the eye plastic surgeon.
-
The problem is worse than I thought.
-
He is going to do the upper eye lids and the lower lids, as well.
-
Unfortunately, he won’t be able to do the bags under my eyes paid by Medicare.
-
Page 5
-
Just my luck to find a surgeon with scruples.
-
There will be two separate surgeries.
-
The first surgery will be the lower lids.
-
He says that I will have two black-eyes for ten days to two weeks.
-
They will call me Monday to set up the surgeries.
-
And these are covered by Medicare.
-
Oh well, I have gone a whole seven months without having a medical procedure.
-
I watched the hearings tonight.
-
I had forgotten so much of that day and time.
-
If you had asked me to write out the day it happened, I would have written Jan 6, 2022.
-
Well, good night 0 posters and 0 Guests.
-
Yes, I let them have the digital downloads - just too much work for me to keep track of. I still hold out hope that people want actual CDs.

What is this DEARTH of postings?

A positive DEARTH, I tell you.
-
Oh, well.

New notes are up.
