Ditto to that!

More modern major miracle vibes for BK!

Also vibes for some good tasting food today, besides just the licorice.

TOD: WHITE LOTUS season 2's first episode felt so unpleasant, not that it was badly done, just so unpleasant. They were doing exactly the show they wanted to do, the creatives were in full control, but there was such an ick factor.
-
After seeing and enjoying season 3, there were story gaps that sort-of needed to be filled in, particularly about Jennifer Coolidge's character (who was not in season 3 but referred quite a bit) - so we went back to watch the rest of season 2 to better understand season 3.
And where season 2 went after that first episode was even more icky and unpleasant that I would have imagined possible in my wildest viewing nightmares - but that did fill in the story gaps for the enjoyable season 3.
-
Good morning.
-
That's a great little table, Singdaw.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I had a terrible night of sleep. To begin, I couldn't get to sleep so I finally turned on the light, picked up my book and read for abot an hour. Then, Annabelle, who usually sleeps up in her mountain retreat at the top of the bookcase behind the bed, decided instead to spend the night sleeping next to me. Then Thatch, who sleeps next to me every night. joined us. Instead of having 1/2 of the bed, I only had 1/3. It was hell.
-
Then, to add to my misery, I slept poorly, and I had too many bathroom breaks. While I do love Annabelle and Thatch, I kept wishing Annabelle would do one of two things: either head up to her mountain chalet or move down the bed to her usual sleeping spot on the bed. And I forgot: at some poit during the night, Stella vomited on the floor, and I stepped in it during one of my bathroom breaks.
-
I worked on something nearly twenty years ago - I cannot remember what it was - and Montego was one of the soloists. She's wonderful.
-

Would keeping some kind of "pee bucket" near the bed help the situation, maybe one with a cover so that the cats won't knock it over?
-
Good morning, all.
-
I think I read somewhere that Montego was doing the Sunday matinees.
-
I generally stay with a show even after it jumps the shark. I don’t know if I don’t realize it at the time. So, I watched Moonlighting to the bitter end.
-
I guess I did stop watching Glee when the first group of characters graduated.
-
Not sure what I think of this, but the violin is lovely.

I've been looking over a score by my student, and in 10 minutes we have our session. I look forward to it.

A song folks may remember from Chicago’s Buckinghams.

I’m in love with this lady lifting her wheelchair.

Really loved the first season of Heroes. Then the second season began and it was so immediately bad, it was easy to quit and pretend it ended after season 1.

If you want Alaska,
I'll ask-a where she's gone.

A hit for Perry Como.
-
Buy Me That Town was a fun flick. Lloyd Nolan always solid as a gangster with a soft heart who buys an unincorporated village to use the jail as a lucrative boarding house for white collar criminals on the lam. He ends up making the town nicer and seeing the value of the straight life, thanks to Constance Moore.
Vera Vague is hilarious as a kind of gangster groupie and wannabe moll. Recommended.
-
I'll buy me that town for $50, Pat.

TOD:
The Last of Us
-
We watched the show, which is based on a dystopian video game, because of Pedro Pascal.
-
The first season was excellent. Much of what made it good was the developing relationship between Pascal and the girl he rescues.
-
Season two-stop reading if you don't want spoilers.
Suddenly we have an extremely annoying teenager and their relationship has deteriated. We read reviews to decide if we wanted to continue watching. The opposite of killing off a charactor that was not killed in the books happened, they followed the game closely and killed Pascal's charactor.
-
There have been other shows we stopped watching, this is just the most recent one I can think of.
-
An interesting rendition of Verdi's "Anvil Chorus" by the Los Angeles Gay Men's Chorus.

The Odessa File had music by Andrew Lloyd Webber - one of his earlier credits
-
TOD: I watched Silicon Valley until the first season without TJ Miller. In the first episode the main character was repeating the same mistakes he's made throughout the series, having apparently learned nothing from recent experiences. The series as a whole had degraded since it's brilliant opening season, but that was the tipping point for me.
-
I'll buy me that town for $50, Pat.
It cost Lloyd Nolan 30k.

Yes, it’s referring to the custard.

I find it very annoying when there isn't any growth with the characters, at least with those that need to grow.

We rarely go to Target.
-
Today we spent time in the very nice Target store.
-
Before going I looked up items I haven't been able to find in our local stores anymore and found them listed.
-
Some were in stock at the store.
-
Other items, such as Yardley soap, needed to be ordered online and then picked up in the store.
-
Shocking was that soap for sale was kept under lock and key, which is why I walked right past those shelves and never looked inside for bars of soap.
-
I guess the soap is flying off the shelves, so to speak.
-
Tonight my sister Paula and I are going to see THE CEMETERY CLUB.
Two performances - two standing ovations.....so I hope tonight continues the trend.
This weekend my friend Vickie who directed Act Two is doing the green room circle and curtain speech. Next week I will be doing it - and then drive home I will be done by 8:05 or so - plenty of time to drive home while it is still light.
-
SHOCKER!!!!
The version of Sex Kittens Go To College starring Mamie Van Doren that is now onDEMAND on TCM is the European version.
Near the end- the robot goes to sleep and we have five solo strippers doing their routines while he watches and beeps.....much scanty attire AND topless flouncing about.
I had never seen this version.

Exactly. Just as in real life, there would have been so many new mistakes for the character to make. Repeating the same one is so boring.
-

LOL. I truly was shocked. Mostly it was large bottles of Dove along with some bars of Dove. I wonder if the rest of the soap was elsewhere and I simply couldn't find it. I did ask an employee to walk be to the soap. The bottle of Softsoap were on a different isle.

Congrats, JRand, on standing ovations.

Hello, everyone.
-
I am back on my feet, but not 100%, after my recent surgery. Recovery always seems to take longer than you expect — frustratingly so. All seems to be on track, though.
Thank you for all the vibes. I’m sure they helped.
-
I was so annoyed with PBS yesterday. I wanted to stream Call The Midwife, but couldn’t find it on the PBS site. They had a link to the show’s page, even a Where to Watch section, but no information on where to stream. It’s available on Amazon Prime, but for a fee. Given how long I’ve been supporting PBS I don’t feel I should have to pay a fee for a PBS show. Grrrr. I think very highly of PBS programming, but their viewer relations often suck. They won’t answer questions, either — they just refer you to the FAQs. Double grrr.
-
I found an outstanding show on Netflix. Benedict Cumberpatch in Eric. Cumberpatch is wonderful in it and the show has more depth than most shows of this sort (missing child).
Definitely recommended.
