Well, you've read the notes, the notes had vim and vigor and were written by an aging juvenile, and now it is time for you to post until the aging cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: REPERTOIRE!

Yesterday and today are the days for Olympia's Fall Arts Walk (https://www.artswalkoly.com/). From noon-thirty until about 5:45, I'm volunteering at the Washington Center, mainly as crowd control. The venue will be open for bathroom access, but mainly so that anyone and/or everyone can view the artwork that's on display throughout three stories of the lobby. There is no other event at the center today.
-
Then, from 6:15 until whenever it's over, I'm ushering at the State Theater for the Harlequin Productions production of Murder on the Orient Express (https://harlequinproductions.org/show/murder-on-the-orient-express/). A couple of friends are in this, so I'm really looking forward to it.
It's gonna be a long day! :o
-
TOD: Feels like there are oils that I avoid in older age, because they have a way of coming back up - but keeping Tums nearby generally helps with that.
I've also reacted negatively to Reese's peanut butter cups for some reason, which I used to enjoy a lot.
-
Good morning, all.
-
At an ungodly hour.
And I've already been up for half an hour.
-
It's the new me. Or something.
-
Good morning, all!
-
After several mornings of rising at 5:00a.m., I decided to sleep in, much to the unhappiness of Annabelle, who kept jumping onto my prone body in her efforts to rouse me. At 6:05, I decided Genug ist genug!
-
BK, I am embarrassed to admit it, but I am two books behind. I will be getting to them soon, I promise.
-
This morning, after my trip to the basement and mailboxes, I will enter the new recording of My Fair Lady, which arrived yesterday from England, into my iTunes while I make the bed. I may pull out the full score and listen to the recording with it. I have no other plans today.
-
DR John G, are you posting about Marlow Murder Club 1 or 2? I loved the first one, and I want to watch the second.
-
As soon as BK mentioned it was Dorothy Parker, I recofnized her. That Viking collection was my introduction to Miss Parker's work, and my favorite quote of hers remains "You can lead a horticulture but you can't maker her think."
-
As I've grown older, I have become lactose intolerant, which wreaked havoc on my ice cream and cereal consumption.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Elmore, I am watching season two of Marlow.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
I’m moving slowly today. I fell asleep again.
-
This time I can make it. I think.

You can make it!

Saturday.
Lunch at Chipotle yesterday was very good - but one certainly does have a LOT of decisions to make when ordering there.

What in the name of Bobby Buntrock is going on here?
Have we discussed the verified fact that Cissy Houston named her daughter Whitney after Whitney Blake?
-
Have not ever discussed that in my life.
-
Whitney Blake was a co-creator of One Day At a Time. The things you learn!
-
I've figured Bonnie Franklin's character Ann Romano was based on her.
-
This is what Wikipedia says:
"The series was created by Whitney Blake and Allan Manings, a husband-and-wife writing duo who had both been actors in the 1950s and 1960s. The series was based on Whitney Blake's own life as a single mother raising her three children (including future actress Meredith Baxter) after her divorce from her first husband"
-
Have not ever discussed that in my life.
And why not?
-
I'm up, I'm up - maybe five, maybe six hours. I could have done ten or eleven were it not for the morons next door doing heaven knows what at eleven in the morning - tree trimming is my guess. I'd like to go over there and commit mayhem.
-
It sounded like they were in my HOUSE.
-
Then I get up and - they stop. If I go back to bed - they'll start.
-
Guess what I'm eating!
My third large helping of it, and I swear (I really do), the damned chilling/serving dish still looks full. :)
-
Have not ever discussed that in my life.
And why not?
Haha! I never knew it till now!
-
This is on Whitney Blake's wikipedia page:
"Singer Whitney Houston (1963–2012) was named after [Whitney] Blake, as stated in the 2018 documentary Whitney."
-
TOD
I can still basically eat anything I want. BUT --
I may have identified a slight tendency toward being lactose intolerant -- if I seriously overdo the eating or drinking of a suspect item.
Also, outright bing(e)ing - especially hurriedly - on a lot of food of any type. Like, to the point where you feel horribly bloated and there's no other word for it.
Either of these things CAN have a predictable delayed or not-so-delayed reaction. Not always, but it can happen. I'm learning to keep an eye on these habits and am getting better at stopping when I should.
-
That having been said, I need more of this tuna pasta salad. I hadn't eaten much yet today. Back later.

This is interesting.
-
Looking at IMDB, I'm also wondering how long she was a single mother.
Spouses
Allan Manings(August 24, 1968 - September 28, 2002) (her death)
Jack Fields(April 6, 1957 - April 1967) (divorced)
John Thomas Baxter Jr.(April 1944 - January 19, 1956) (divorced, 3 children)
-
As I've grown older, I have become lactose intolerant, which wreaked havoc on my ice cream and cereal consumption.
My friend David (who is only in his early 40s) only recently became lactose intolerant. He also loved ice cream and cheese. :-\

TOD: Fresh tomatoes. I still love the good ones, but too many, especially raw, causes too much heartburn.
-
So of course, this year we have a super bumper crop of tomatoes. We've never had plants this productive before.
-
We had the dancers for last night's initial tech rehearsal, so we got to practice the orgy scene again. Hooray! It was looking good, so we don't see them again until Monday's piano dress rehearsal.
-
This show has more complicated tech than usual, so it's a good thing we have a long tech rehearsal today. Act III in particular really needs it.
-
Looking at IMDB, I'm also wondering how long she was a single mother.

Allan Manings(August 24, 1968 - September 28, 2002) (her death)

John Thomas Baxter Jr.(April 1944 - January 19, 1956) (divorced, 3 children)
Google's AI says she and Tom Baxter separated in 1953, but the divorce was not finalized for a while after that.
"Whitney Blake and Tom Baxter separated in 1953, and Whitney filed for divorce that year. The divorce was finalized in 1955, after more than ten years of marriage.
Additional details about their relationship:
Marriage and family: Blake married Tom Baxter in early 1944. They had three children together: sons Richard and Brian, and daughter Meredith Baxter, who also became a well-known actress.
The split: According to Meredith Baxter's account, the marriage was "on its last legs" in 1953 when her mother filed for divorce. Meredith, who was five years old at the time, described the separation as a moment of turmoil for her father.
Divorce finalized: While the separation occurred in 1953, their divorce was not finalized until 1955.
After the divorce: After the split, Blake raised her three children and later drew inspiration from her experiences as a single mother to co-create the sitcom One Day at a Time. She went on to marry and divorce a second time before marrying Allan Manings, with whom she co-created the show. "

I can no longer eat foods high in oxalic acid because they cause kidney stones in me. So, no spinach, rhubarb or any type of tea.

Yes, you need to take it with your first bite of dairy. I prefer the chewables. If he likes yogurt tell him to try Meyenberg Goat Yogurt.

This talk of lactose reminds me that I have vague recollections of a dream last night about having to learn to milk a cow.

Don't ask me why.

Were you good at milking?
As Cole Porter once wrote: they tell me cows, when they’re feeling milky, all give cream when they’re milked by Wilkie.

I was in my 40's when I began issues with food. For several years basically the only food that didn't cause debilitating pain was basmati.
I am very grateful for Protonix and high dose probiotics for giving me back the ability to eat.
I've forgotten the number of times the pain resulted in me getting tests for cancer. I still need to be careful of how I eat, and controlling stress, both of which can trigger problems.

So, got back in bed around 11:45 - noises never came back so these little jerks made all that noise for ten minutes - why?
-
So, overall, I think I got nine hours of sleep. I needed it and probably could just sleep another four right now.
-
Thanks to DR JANE and DR FREDDIE for the Whitney Blake info.
-
But I'll mosey on over to the mail place, then make pasta.

Yes....I think an unrehearsed orgy is really not even worth attending.
Which of course reminds me of a stage direction in THE FIRST NUDIE MUSICAL.

Finishing up the last mystery from Marlow in season 2.
-
Marlow can wait.
-
I’m fading.
-
Good night, all.
-
I have no idea.
-
None.
-
I am all out of ideas.
-
Here's the idea: At some point, I sat on my couch like so much fish, intending to watch something.
-
Next thing I know, I wake up and I have no idea what's what.
-
I get up and I look at the clock and it says 4:00.
-
I think, I've gotta stop doing the couch thing before bed and after writing and posting the notes.
-
I brush my teeth and get into bed.
-
I'm thinking, I don't remember writing the notes. Did I write the notes and post them? Did I take my pill? Did I Flonase? Did I Melatonin? I don't remember any of it, although I know I didn't Flonase. That is easy to remember.
-
I get up and go back to the kitchen, Flonase, and look at the clock. I says 10:00.
-
What??? How can I have misread it as four o'clock.
-
So, I haven't done a damn thing. No notes, no pill, no food since Wacky Noodles, no nothing.
-
So, here I am with no idea what time I sat on my couch, although I suspect now it was around seven.
-
Forget Wacky Noodles, baby. I think we've moved on to Wacky ME.
-
You’re just the maid to do that.

As much as I love Audra, I LOVE Inga's version of "Simple Little Things" so much more than Audra's.

The pie was much better. More to the tastes of the pecan pie lovers.
That's great, John!

IT'S RUPERT'S PAGE SEVEN DANCE!!
-
Tonight, I ushered for a local production of Murder on the Orient Express.
-
Hiya, G!
-
Took my boy to his climbing class today which afforded me some time to hit some thrift shoppes in British Columbia. Found a nice Blossom Dearie 2-record set, “My New Celebrity is You.”
-
I'd never read the book nor seen the movie all the way through, but I did remember seeing/reading/hearing about who killed the bad guy and how he was killed so that even though that wasn't a surprise, I enjoyed the stories of each of the characters told as Poirot interviewed the suspects.
-
Hiya, G!
Howdy, R!
-
And MotOE was just a good production with good actors, and a lot more humor than I would've expected.
-
One actress was in An Inspector Calls in Tacoma that I stage managed last year, so it was really nice to see her again.
-
And I must admit that she has really improved as an actress. She was good back then, but tonight she had a short scene that almost brought tears to my eyes...in a good way.
-
And now, for something completely different:
