Looking at IMDB, I'm also wondering how long she was a single mother.

 Spouses
Allan Manings(August 24, 1968 - September 28, 2002) (her death)
Jack Fields(April 6, 1957 - April 1967) (divorced)
John Thomas Baxter Jr.(April 1944 - January 19, 1956) (divorced, 3 children)

Google's AI says she and Tom Baxter separated in 1953, but the divorce was not finalized for a while after that.

"Whitney Blake and Tom Baxter separated in 1953, and Whitney filed for divorce that year. The divorce was finalized in 1955, after more than ten years of marriage.

Additional details about their relationship:

Marriage and family: Blake married Tom Baxter in early 1944. They had three children together: sons Richard and Brian, and daughter Meredith Baxter, who also became a well-known actress.

The split: According to Meredith Baxter's account, the marriage was "on its last legs" in 1953 when her mother filed for divorce. Meredith, who was five years old at the time, described the separation as a moment of turmoil for her father.

Divorce finalized: While the separation occurred in 1953, their divorce was not finalized until 1955.

After the divorce: After the split, Blake raised her three children and later drew inspiration from her experiences as a single mother to co-create the sitcom One Day at a Time. She went on to marry and divorce a second time before marrying Allan Manings, with whom she co-created the show. "

We had the dancers for last night's initial tech rehearsal, so we got to practice the orgy scene again. Hooray! It was looking good, so we don't see them again until Monday's piano dress rehearsal.

Orgy rehearsal vibes for MichaelG!  (These may be the first orgy vibes in HHW history.)

I can no longer eat foods high in oxalic acid because they cause kidney stones in me. So, no spinach, rhubarb or any type of tea.

As I've grown older, I have become lactose intolerant, which wreaked havoc on my ice cream and cereal consumption.

My friend David (who is only in his early 40s) only recently became lactose intolerant.  He also loved ice cream and cheese. :-\

But he said that Lactaid really helps, as long as he takes it soon enough before eating dairy.

Yes, you need to take it with your first bite of dairy.  I prefer the chewables.  If he likes yogurt tell him to try Meyenberg Goat Yogurt.

TOD: Fresh tomatoes. I still love the good ones, but too many, especially raw, causes too much heartburn.

I am back to eating them though as they reduce inflammation.

More "One Day at a Time" trivia:  The small-ish difference in ages of the actresses playing mother and daughters.  Bonnie Franklin was born in 1944, while the actresses playing her daughters were born in 1959 (Mackenzie Phillips) and 1960 (Valerie Bertinelli).

Texas pecan pie in the oven. Marlow on the telly. Life is happening whether I want it to or not.

:) That's pretty deep and philosophical.

This talk of lactose reminds me that I have vague recollections of a dream last night about having to learn to milk a cow.

Were you good at milking?

As Cole Porter once wrote: they tell me cows, when they’re feeling milky, all give cream when they’re milked by Wilkie.

I was in my 40's when I began issues with food.  For several years basically the only food that didn't cause debilitating pain was basmati.

I am very grateful for Protonix and high dose probiotics for giving me back the ability to eat.

I've forgotten the number of times the pain resulted in me getting tests for cancer.  I still need to be careful of how I eat, and controlling stress, both of which can trigger problems.
