Well, you've read the notes, the notes told you all you need to know, and now it is time for you to post until the all you need to know cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ROBUST!

That's too bad about the laptop, BK. At least you were able to get some work done.
-
Good morning, all!
-
The alarm rang at 5:00 this morning since I had Access-a-Ride showing up at 8:00. Sady, I woke wih a stiff neck; I cannot turn my head at all. I cancelled AAR as well as the appointment. So, I'm going nowhere today.
-
I am seriously hoping that all the Democrat wins last night give the Fat Orange Slug a massive stroke. I am pretty sure it's already given him a massive tantrum.
-
DR John G, I was going to post that the last time I saw David Carroll was backstage at Grand Hotel, but then I realized the last time I saw him was at rehearsal for a New York City Gay Men's Chorus rehearsal, by which time he was looking pretty ravaged from the disease. I had worked with him on Roberta for the New Amsterdam Theater Company. We were not friends, but we were friendly. I was such a talent and such a good man.
I last saw Michael Jeter when he played the King in the 1998 Gay Men's Health Crisis production of Jubilee, which suffered from Herb Ross' casting: Bea Arthur, Tyne Daly, Michael Jeter, Damian Woetzel, and Alice Ripley were good; sadly, Sandy Dennis and body builder Bob Paris were not.
-
Good morning, all.
-
May DR Elmore's wish be the universe's command.
-
Great to hear BK's first rehearsal went so well!
-
Somehow, the YouTube algorithm knew I'd enjoy this short video on the dancing duo called "twinsauce" doing "One Short Day in the Emerald City" from WICKED

Slow news day at HHW.
But there's a Millstone Alert - You're getting close to a nice round 98,000 millstone.
-
From DR Singdaw:
Democrats retain their majority on PA's Supreme Court.
That's a relief.
-
From DR John:
Finally off the shift. I worked 14.75 hours today.
:o
-
From John:
Early in the morning, two co-workers said we would have 1,000 voters. I said 1,200. We had 1,280. None of us had any sympathy for the people standing in line. We had two weeks of no waiting. And we told the people that.
;D
Maybe next election they will remember and vote early.
-
John, did you have anything to eat during your long shift?
-
DR Ginny, I read the good news this morning regarding the half brother.
-
From DR John:
I reported about the great time I had at the theater’s big fundraiser with Nile Rodgers and Chic. Well, apparently there was a lot of tsuris behind the scenes. Entitled ushers, who are all volunteers, were upset they couldn’t have the dinner that patrons paid hundreds of dollars for. Pizza was provided, and those folks not only criticized it, but they treated it shabbily in front of the people who went out of their way to provide it. We all got a lengthy email about the behavior of those people and how poorly it played out on our most important night of the year. I felt very embarrassed.
What a shame. It was nice that pizza was provided since they were working.
-
Sending more get well vibes for DR George.

We are having beautiful weather today.
It is 58 degrees with a clear beautiful sky....and a nice breeze to tinkle the wind chimes.
-
My question for ASK BK DAY?
Miss Carroll Baker is one of my favorite actresses. Which of her performances are your favorite....and least favorite?
Although she keeps repeating the same stories over and over in interviews nowadays, she's still fun to watch.
A few years ago.

Wednesday afternoon greetings! I slept until almost 9 this morning, which is very late for me.
-
Good afternoon, all.
-
Belated congratulations, George, on your milestone.
-
It’s a two-truck day at the food pantry. We’ve sorted the first truck. Lots of lettuce and meat in addition to pumpkins. There was so much food, the driver couldn’t fit a pallet jack in it. He had to use ours.
-
DR JOHN G just when you think folks can't get any worse.....they do.
True.
-
John, did you have anything to eat during your long shift?
I did get a lunch break.
-
Not getting enough news out of Louisville.

Tonight is a new episode of The Amazing Race.

So Dear Readers are there any new Oscar Bait movies that you are interested in seeing?
I think Nuremburg might be something I am interested in.
Wicked 2 not so much.
What are some others since I am hopelessly behind.
-
Since the weather is so lovely, I spent awhile sitting on the front porch in my rocking chair and watching the clouds and the airplanes go by.
-
Get off my lawn you young hoodlums!
-
JRand, be a nerd and open flightradar24.com and see where the planes are going.

I'm up, I'm up - certainly ten hours of sleep.

Must order food and then prep for this evening.

I am getting ready to go to the conference tomorrow. I have 221 songs on my Spotify playlist. Quite a diverse mixture of things.

Whew. It's been a couple of days.
Actually, it's been one HELL of a week.
Tomorrow the laundry room and my closet get their new flooring. It's taken a good four days, all told, to get those two rooms completely cleared out. I should actually take a picture of how I got so much of the stuff into my bedroom, bathroom, and other areas. It's a damn work of art if I say so myself. A DAMN work of art.

Had to say no to jumping into an emergency name-your-price gig which I would have greatly enjoyed but it conflicts with my own show.
A theater arts school's director is in a panic because the student he lined up to play The Addams Family is crashing and burning. Well, that is no show for an inexperienced player. I have no idea whether they have a full band and the kid was trying to play Keyboard 1, Keyboard 2 (both very heavily programmed on MainStage), or whether they were just playing the vocal score on piano. But of all the shows that will kill a student player, Addams would be near the top of the list.
Too bad, because I love playing it. I even did it on piano once, with just bass and drums, for a small school. But that was possible because I'd just played the Keyboard 1 book a few months prior, so the notes on the page still made sense. That was fun. Then again -- all of this having been said, if what these folks need was to be Keyboard 2, I probably would NOT have time to get it into my fingers and brain. I'll have to follow up and see who took it and what was involved.

I know that most of the volunteers that I have worked with would've been very happy to have the free pizza. And to assume that any volunteer would be entitled to the patrons' is extremely rude!

I suppose maybe Nuremburg. I see once it is released.

As I was changing to go for a walk it began to rain. It is now wet and windy so we didn't go.

I'm sure you would have reacted correctly. I wonder if all the volunteers complaining expected a fancy dinner or if a few got the others worked up about it.

I would have been absolutely grateful for the pizza.
How could they ever have thought they were entitled to that dinner?

George, will you wear a mask around your mother?
I hadn't thought about it, but I'm sure that I'm over the worst of it and no longer contagious. Shelly (my housemate) hasn't had even a sniffle.

Besides the ones mentioned, I'm looking forward to Song Sung Blue, though I'll wait until it's streaming. Wikipedia says: it stars Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson as Mike and Claire Sardina, who performed as the Neil Diamond tribute band Lightning & Thunder.

I just watched the trailer for it.

I just had to decline an invite for Thanksgiving. I'm not ready to sit with a group of people eating and talking until I get my prednisone dose down much lower.

Not getting enough news out of Louisville.
Oh, no. :(

I've just now returned to the news regarding the cargo plane crash :(
-
Good idea DR LAURA.
-
Good choices MR BK.
I read the book The Carpetbaggers before I saw the movie and I have always been disappointed that Miss Carroll's character did NOT get the death scene that was in the book.....but in fact died offscreen as was reported by Virginia Graham:
She's dead. She died 20 minutes ago.....and the movie nearly died with her.

I would have been absolutely grateful for the pizza.
How could they ever have thought they were entitled to that dinner?
To offer some perspective, two people who paid to attend bid $43,000 each on an auction item. Of course, they weren't eating pizza. But why should someone who volunteered get their dinner for free?

I will see these when the DVDs are released:

Listening to The Queens of Crime, as I posted yesterday. A clue to the murder is that the victim went to see Noel Coward’s Cavalcade. Sadly, the writer refers to it as a musical. It was a play. Shoddy mistake.

Good evening.

John, were you pleased with your election results?
No. Evil state measures all passed, including one where that venal pustule Abbott has authority over judges. Very bad for Texans.
-
Thanks for the vibes for Carol. I hope she’s resting now.
-
Jeremy Allen White gives an excellent performance as Springsteen and does his own vocals. The move has an important message about depression, and I hope people are moved by that if they need to hear it. Some of the movie uses too much shorthand/cliche, thereby falling into the biopic trap. Still, it’s a great performance.
-
Horrible score from Jeremiah Fraites that telegraphs every emotion and without subtlety. It’s everything that Springsteen’s Nebraska is not.
-
It's quite extravagant of you to buy out the whole theatre every time you go to the movies, DR John G.
-
I am interested in the upcoming movies that everyone else has already mentioned.
-
I will add one more: Lost & Found in Cleveland, with an "Antiques Roadshow" type premise.
-
Hope BK's rehearsal is going swimmingly.

Check.

For those interested, tomorrow (Thu) night there is a 2-hour promo special celebrating Wicked on NBC.

How are you feeling today, George?
For part of the day, I was okay, but as the evening went on and wasn't talking, my throat is now hurting again, especially when I cough. I hate that. :P
