Well, you've read the notes, the notes had little gifts from heaven, and now it is time for you to post until the gifted cows come home.

And the word of the day is: ENLIVEN!

Good morning, all!
-
I am exceedingly crabby this morning for various and sundry reasons, some of my own creation and others because of the foolishness and incompetence of others. One person of whom I am quite fond has managed to drive me up the wall three days out of the past five and cxontinues this morning.
(sounds of screams and gnashing teeth)
-
My friend Jason, with whom I worked on new perforiming editions for MTI of Guys & Dolls and How To Succeed in Business . . . is coming by around 11:00 to hopefully get my printer back online after the enormous mess I created yesteday. Oy!
-
Thank you all for your e-deposit comments.
Yes, I think it could be a great aid, but how do I proceed without E-WithdrawingCash, which I've asked Jen to do several times in the past years?
-
Good morning, all.
-
As for Joy Machine Records, don't get me started.
-
Eighty-one years ago today, my parents married.
-
That's crazy about ensemble girl. Incredible.
-
Vibes for DR Elmore's day turning around with some positive things.
-
Good morning.
-
A sentiment in this upbeat history-lesson number written by Harold Rome in the 1930s for the show "Pins and Needles" -
also one of the earliest recordings (1962) by Barbra Streisand.
Barbra Streisand sings "Sitting on Your Status Quo"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjyyLcVnN9M
"You can't stand still on freedom's track
If you don't go forward, you go back
You can't giddyup by saying Whoa
And sitting on your status quo!"
-
Good morning, all.
-
I am afraid I will not be here today - I was promised there would only be LIGHT dancing.
-
HA!
-
Hopefully DR CHAS SMITH can get his flooring repaired.....
Good news about the friend of DR JOHN G.
-
I’m moving slowly.
-
I did go to the getting place today.
And it was very quiet. There was only ONE person doing self checkout so I got a convenient station and started my part time job.
About half way through I realized how quiet and uncrowded the place seemed for a Friday morning.
Then one of the ladies monitoring us called to the other lady and said "I'm going home. They asked us to cut our hours...."
I think not having EBT customers is going to be difficult for many grocery outlets.
-
DR JANE according to the inner web my sister's flight tomorrow is still scheduled.
-
I watched SCANNERS last week. It was very good.
-
I went to my newly remodeled Burger King today.
They have ordering computer stations. I asked a clerk how to use a coupon with the set up.....and she said "you can't" - and then walked me over to the registers where she helped me.
I always like when I order my Family Bundle (three Whoppers, three cheeseburgers, and three medium fries) and they ask me if it's for "here" to "to go."
-
So I am set for the weekend.

:)
In my much-too-vast experience, Burger King burgers somehow store in the fridge (and then reheat) better than McDonald's. But McDonald's sausage breakfast sandwiches store and reheat better than Burger King.

Great news, Larry!
-
Maybe it's that I've gotten old, but for a lot of the pop music nominees, I know them mainly for their SNL appearances.
-
Taylor Swift's new album is in next year's Grammy time frame.

Well, at least that got us halfway through page 2.

Nice DR ELMORE.

Thanks for the Grammy info DR FREDDIE.

thanks DR JANE.

Yes DR FREDDIE the Burger King burgers and fries survive the microwave experience very well.
Of course I am doing laundry so I can't use the microwave until the cycle has finished. Yes our house is like the Douglas house on Green Acres.

Marc Kudisch. There’s a name I hadn’t heard in awhile. (And I was trying to think of it recently)
He was here in our apartment on the very first day that our first dog Toby joined us. I'm trying to recall why, but it likely had something to do with music.
-
I interviewed Kudisch a couple times; something he said stuck with me all these eons. He’d done a reading for the then-gestating Young Frankenstein and I asked if he thought anything would come of it, and he said the reading went well, “But if that’s all it was, it was one hell of a good time.”
-
I thought, that’s kind of a helpful attitude for an actor to have.
-
Excellent news, DR Elmore!
-
Another Grammy category that might be of interest to show and movie fans this year, because "Defying Gravity" is nominated
Best Pop Duo/Group Performance
“Defying Gravity” – Cynthia Erivo & Ariana Grande

I bought the Moonshine & Mistletoe mp3 download from Amazon. It sounds good. No booklet info, which pisses me off. To my kowledge, The Joy Machine site says nothing.
-
Last night I watched on Amazon Prime a movie I'm very fond of, The Monster Squad. Tom Noonan's Frankenstein monster is so wonderful, and I love the little girl he befriends.

I'm up, I'm up - eight and a half hours of sleep.

Think I'll get food first, then go to the mail place around one-thirty.

We went to Costco and I forgot to add TP to the list. I'm not sure we will be returning until after the holidays as it was already crowded. I should have put my mask on first.
-
I'm picking someone up at the airport this afternoon. I hope the flight flies.
-
I had seen a Costco coupon for Cranberry Walnut bread so we tried a loaf. Now we wish we had purchased two loaves. Apparently it is a seasonal item that sells out quickly and we were lucky to get it. We wouldn't want to go to Costco just for that to find out they had sold out already.
-

Its still listed. I don't know how much notice you get if it cancels.

At least enough time that you will know before going to pick her up. Fingers crossed her flight isn't cancelled.

Last year, we started getting the Bisconies from Costco, but then they stopped having it in the New Year. This year, they have it again as of a few days ago, though I don't see what's specifically for the holidays about the Bisconie. But at least now we're on notice that they consider it a holiday item, and they'll stop having it after Christmas, so we'll buy more accordingly.

Yes DR RODZINSKI indeed I was a scanner.

Yes.....step kick step touch with hand movements is something that even the Rockettes would find challenging.

It doesn't have to solve every issue to still be very useful. There are other approaches that may reduce the need for withdrawing cash, depending on what you use it for.
-
Lost and Found was made last year and only now has a distributor.
-
My daughter will be pleased with the KPop Demon Hunters nominations.

It’s a sweet, old-fashioned movie, predictable at every turn. Even the big moment when June Squibb blurts out the big cuss word to great effect.

The movie opens with Bobby Darin singing Artificial Flowers. I think that tells you what you need to know. Santino Fontana, Dennis Haysbert, Martin Sheen, Loretta Devine, Squibb and Stacy Keach are all pleasant company.

Yes, and it’s a nice role, even if it sorta ends in a joke. It handles the onset of dementia and time in an interesting manner.
-
Just watched the trailer. Nice to see Keach still at it.
We saw him in New Haven starring in THE KING AND I - must have been in 1989 or 1990. He was quite excellent.
-
Nothing like plague, death and despair to brighten the holidays.
Comedy is when the plague, death and despair happen to other people. Tragedy is when Mel Brooks gets a paper cut.
-
But I'm paraphrasing.
-
I started the new Harlan Coben today, and the new Micheal Connelly showed up as being ready.
Nobody's Fool which was released in March or is there a newer one out? I read that in March. I read the new Connelly book last month.
-
I like to save certain books to read in December, holiday themes or feel good books. Bruce, I have decided to save Richard and Me as one of my special treat December books.
-
Glad Joy Ride records came through and glad I heard about it in time to stop ours in its tracks.

The Proving Ground is Michael Connelly’s. Think Twice is Coben’s. Both are new.

I am watching The Invention of Sound - or whatever it is called - and I am intrigued by it.
I am still thinking that Nuremburg may be my film most looked forward to this Oscar season.

Theeder experience.
It has been my experience that when some idiot quits a show, the reason he/she gives for quiting is NOT THE REASON he/she QUITS THE SHOW.

Doing theeder for 46 years......

It doesn't surprise me that they would give a fake reason. Bruce did say this one really couldn't dance so maybe it is true, or partially true.

She said that thirty years ago she was a really good dancer. And I am here to tell you that anyone who cannot do the Charleston, the easiest thing in the world, was never a good dancer.

Did anyone read that they’re talking Jonathan Bailey and Ariana Grande for Sunday in the Park with George?
-
Watching The Family Stone for the first time. Surprisingly fun. Great performances.
-
I saw The Family Stone in the cinema way back when.
-
She won’t dance. Don’t ask her!
-
Did anyone read that they’re talking Jonathan Bailey and Ariana Grande for Sunday in the Park with George?
Maybe that's what she was referring to in the recent Times article, something stage-related but not on Broadway?
https://www.nytimes.com/2025/11/05/movies/ariana-grande-wicked-for-good.html
"She’ll also be appearing on the next season of 'American Horror Story' and teased something stage-related coming up soon: 'It’s not on Broadway, but it’s something that I’m very excited about and inspired by.'"
-
Found this on Reddit:
Last night a Broadway "insider" leaked that Ariana is doing Sunday in the Park with George playing Dot, Jonathan Bailey is George and Marianne Elliott is directing, it'll be on the West End in 2027
-
Wow, big shoes to fill for both of them, but they could well be up to it!

I think they should retire Sunday in the Park, Into the Woods, and Sweeney for about five years.

Can't find anything on the Firestick to watch - which is pretty damn pathetic. Tomorrow, I may watch the documentary on Tura Satana.

I'll post my photo of Tura and I at one of the late 90s Ray Courts signing shows - maybe the first or second one I did, in the days when it was actually fun to do. She thought I was the berries and loved that I used her name in a play.

Listening to what is the most amazing performance of the Khatchaturian piano concerto I've ever heard. I didn't know it at all and it just showed up on YouTube. I'm not always for these older pre-tape mono things, but whoever's channel this is did an incredible remastering job on it. It's from 1946. I have just about every stereo recording of this concerto - many fine pianists and conductors - but I've never heard anything quite like this. William Kapell is the pianist - died very young in a plane crash - and the conductor is Koussevitzky. The guy's channel is called Private Reserve - I saved him and will be listening to his Rachmaninov remasterings.
-
Ordered a la carte - taco and enchilada for the snack and pill three - should be here pretty soon.

-
DR George, are you feeling any better today?
Mostly. I'd taken some OTC medication earlier today, then took some more before I went to my mom's to play cards.
-
I started having to cough and it started hurting again about an hour or so before we're were done, but as soon as I got home, I just took some ibuprofen.
-
In ess than a half hour, I was feeling no pain from either coughing or swallowing! I think that that needs to be what I take (without taking too much!) until it all passes.
