Jane-
I hope that you and Keith had a Great Thanksgiving. What did you guys do?
Thank you.  I hope you did as well-details please

Bryan was going to come here.  Since he has a paper to write & I wanted to get away & rest my wrist, we decided to go there at the last minute.
I didn't rest my wrist but we did have a lovely time.  Bryan, as always, cooked us up a great gourmet meal.  He planned a nice dinner but nothing during the day for me to munch on.  I asked if we could get something light.  Bryan instead  innovated us with wonderful appetizers.
I began the day with hot chocolate and then progressed to three kinds of hummus with baked pita chips & sliced carrots.
We then had a white bean dip (whole beans) Followed by sliced apples with cheese.
Dinner began with pumpkin soup with potatoes & leaks & Bryan's fresh onion broth base-oh so good & salad.  We then progressed to rice cakes, cooked like risotto & then rolled in a bread crumbs, panko & parmesan mixture before frying.  These were topped with a delish capinata (eggplant).
For dessert Bryan threw together an interesting cake.  Bryan rarely uses a recipe & I find it amazing this cake came out.  He saw some cherries, the kind used in fruitcakes & figured he would make a fruit cake of his liking.  He tossed in pumpkin, flour, eggs, soda, ginger, fruit, rum & I don't know what else.  Then he topped the cake with a cream cheese rum frosting & topped it with grated coconut.  I'm still eating leftovers.
It was a fun day.
