Well this morning I got up and went grocery shopping. I the cashier was a lovely middleaged lady who placed the cans on the conveyor belt so I could bag them and gently placed my apples and grapes and bread in their own bag (in that order) so nothing was squashed or bruised.

Then I cooked breakfast for poor sickly Vixdad (eggs, toast, sausages and baked beans, served with HP sauce and a large mug of hot tea) and then the Vixter and I headed off to church.

Her hair was a big hit...it is actually very subtle, There are 6 long purple hair extensions each maybe a 1/4 inch thick just around her left ear, but they are placed under the top layer of hair, so you just get flashes of purple here and there as she turns her head

Today was the annual church meeting where we vote on the budget etc but I am starting to get sore throat and headache and so I voted to miss it this year.

Well, although this bite is not quite so dramatic, it is now about the size of a quarter, very red, and hot to the touch. I was hoping that the five weeks of antibiotecs that I had ingested since the start of December would have cut the poison, but apparently not.

I hope this is not the same arm with the poorly shoulder

And if you forget about the SAG Awards at 8, TNT is rerunning the show almost immediately following the original broadcast. (I think there's a CLOSER episode in between.) They have done this for several years now. (They may even rerun it again at some point on Monday, too. I've forgotten now.)

I watched another NCIS episode while I cooked and ate lunch. This was the episode where the real estate agent found a dead body of a sailor in the living room of the house she was showing. Good mystery.

Next, I finished the remaining bonus features on THE JEWISH AMERICANS. They didn't amount to more than about 5 minutes of material between the two features. Looks like they were actually outtakes from the show since they're attached to parts of the show that were broadcast.

I debated with myself and finally decided I would take the day for myself and watch SHREK THE THIRD next.

Not as good as the original or the second film. The story was poor and besides all the references to modern things and fairy tales, there wasn't really much new material on display. I did like Merlin that Eric Idle voiced, and I thought much more could have been done with him. The whole baby thing was predictable as a capper.

Even though the movie made a ton of money, I think it should be the last one unless they can get really inspired with a new direction for these characters. This was sort of feeble actually.

I did watch one bonus feature on the disc - the "Meet the Cast" featurette. I couldn't place Arthur's voice during the movie (saw it was Justin Timberlake in the credits), so I was curious about his being asked to do the film. They didn't really go into why he was cast as opposed to someone like Neil Patrick Harris who I think might have made a more interesting character.

I have a 90 minute made-for-BET movie called BLACKOUT to watch and review, but I didn't have 90 minutes left in the afternoon, so I pulled out WORDS AND MUSIC BY JERRY HERMAN and started watching it. Enjoyed it all over again. I got up to LA CAGE before stopping it.

To borrrow a line from scripture, the stumbling block for me was D. Day's channelling of John Huston's voice.Just whenI'd forget about it, it would reappear..The last 20 mins gave me the giggles...A very crowded theater fo 1130 on a Sun AM, with no walkouts, but I still prefer HOT FUZZ.

I just caught up on last week's posts. (Am I the only DR who tries to read them all?) Thanks to all of you who sent me vibes for last Thursday's doctor's appointment. It was routine and went just fine.

I now have even more flicks to add to my queue. As MBARNUM so aptly put it once, I'll have to add several years to my life to view them all. But that's a good thing!

Good Afternoon!

Well, I didn't make it to the matinee performance of Sunday in the Park with George, but I did manage to snag a pretty decent orchestra seat for tonight - ten rows back, two seats off the aisle. And I was able to use one of the discount vouchers too! HOO and RAY!

Alas, I also tried to get a ticket for Richard Goode's sold out recital this afternoon at Lincoln Center, but they had the cancellation set up, and it did not look like anyone was cancelling. Ah, well.. I get to see Sunday, and I'm very excited to see it. It truly is my favorite show, and I also happen to have a few friends in this cast too.

After I left DR elmore's office, and hugged DR edisaurus and Greg, I headed back uptown to meet my friend, Paul. We walked here, we walked there. We went to Virgin - where they added a few more two-disc sets to their $10 Sale. So, I picked up "Casablanca" and "Doctor Zhivago".

Then we headed over to The Little Pie Shop for some pie and hot cocoa and conversation and gossip. All in all, a wonderful day so far.

Oh! Word of "warning" - at least for the male members of HHW:

Paul is staying at The Paramount Hotel. The bathrooms in the hotel lobby have mirrored walls. On all four sides of the room. With low-placed urinals, and no "modesty" dividers. Alas, the homeless man who unfortunately came in there with me this afternoon, proceeded to admire himself and "himself" from all angles. And I think he was trying admire me too.

OH! And it seems like almost all the cookware I placed on craigslist yesterday will be bought and picked up by tomorrow night! In fact, there are two people heading up now to buy a couple of things.

I hope the DVDs I put up for sale start attracting some offers.
