Today, I've finally finished making the list of everything that's on my upstairs DVD burner so I'll know what to put on each DVD when I start burning them since my burner is COMPLETELY filled up. I'll look through my list and make some notes on what I want to put together...an opera disc, a musical theater disc, etc. Most of the clips are from the
Classic Arts Showcase channel (I think the oldest film clip that I recorded was from 1903!). I like to put together things that are linked in some way. For instance, I have a ballet version and the opera version of the balcony scene from "Romeo and Juliet." I'll put those together. I have several performances of songs from "Candide" (from the Bernstein recording to live performances by other opera singers) that will go together. I wonder if Larry knows about this, but I even have Kiri Te Kanawa singing "Art is Calling For Me" from "The Enchantress" by Victor Herbert. Once I decide what all will go together, I can put up to eight hours on each disc, but with things like this, I usually keep them to under three hours. More time on the disc means less quality overall. I have to burn them in real time, so that will time a lot of overnight recording, but that's fine. The DVD burner is very quiet.
