I just got a call from Susanna Moross Tarjan; there will be a regional production of THE GOLDEN APPLE in the fall.

Cool!  What region?

I won't say anything more until they announce it.

Larry - The Lyric Stage in Texas announced it on its season

Fiddler on the Roof, Sept. 5-14, 2014
The Golden Apple, Oct. 24-Nov. 2, 2014
Annie Get Your Gun in Concert, Jan. 22-25, 2015
Lady in the Dark, April 24-May 3 2015
South Pacific, Jan. 12-21, 2015

Has any DR heard of a new web series on Amazon called Mozart in the Jungle? Its a scripted show that purports to take you "behind the scenes" of the classical music world. Bernadette Peters is supposedly in it!

I would kill to hear her sing Mozart!

Your request is my command

Some mozart with an Irish twist...

Enjoy!   8)

Thanks.  I'm listening right now.

Excellent; it wasn't on their web when I checked, so I didn't know if it was public knowledge yet.

Why would they ask someone they've sacked for a donation?

They do want something. I think I need to be drunk before I make the call.

Be back later!

The foundation is supposedly worth $15,000,000,000; they aren't asking me for any money.

Back to my movie; I'm watching David Suchet (so brilliant!) as Hercule Poirot in The Mysterious Affair At Styles.

I am reading the novella, aka the New York Times Book Review, Bryan sent me for Christmas.  It is going to take me several nights to get through this.  I expected more book reviews and fewer articles, most of which have nothing to do with books.  Mostly I did not expect to see personal ads.  I'm glad I wasn't eating when I read the one from the woman who is seeking a man, married or single.
