We saw 
THE KING AND I yesterday at the ZACH.  I had never seen it on stage before.
It was a terrific production (acting, costumes, sets, choreography, etc.) of a musical that I don't really care for that much.  The score is magnificent, but the book is weak; slow moving.  Her songs aside, the character of Anna is poorly written; not very interesting at all.
I'm sure most of you will disagree with me on that point.   

So, why did I go to a play that I don't really like?
A friend of mine was playing Kralahome.  He was very good in the role, as was the actor playing the King.  Indeed, I thought he was better than Brynner.
