In about an hour, I have to leave to go to a Theater Artists Olympia board meeting.  This is our regular monthly meeting, which is in addition to our board retreat on Sunday.

Hello, everyone.

Thanks so much for all the health vibes. They're helping, but this is one tenacious bug!

What do other people do, when they can't sleep; if they don't have HHW to visit?

I think this was a rhetorical question, but I'll answer anyway. When I get into bed the first thing I do is what I call the "gratitude drill." I review my day and give thanks for everything that went right. There are always so many things going on that it's easy to lose sight of things that went right--the focus is always on things that went wrong. There's often more that went right--by my standard, of course--than I would have thought.

Quiet around these here parts today.

I'm back at work after having taken yesterday off.  It's slow here, too.

Are you feeling better, too, or just back to work?

Over the last couple days I've watched two food movies, LE CHEF and THE HUNDRED FOOT JOURNEY.  I liked them both. That's a lot of food for someone who's hardly eating.

Got the busywork done this morning, the futzed and finessed.  Had to do a bit of photo research and realized I'd gotten one slight detail wrong, but it actually served me well and I only had to adjust one thing.  Then I had a patty melt and no fries or onion rings, then came right home.  I wrote six pages, then finished choosing the songs for the next Kritzerland show - Jerome Kern.  So hard - too many great songs, and I was in a hurry, but I just ended up with things I love plus a few I didn't know all that well but also love - and there are a couple that are rarely done, so that's always fun.  We have a great cast and thank heavens John Boswell is back with us so that part will be a piece of cake.  I'm waiting for the sheet music to arrive, then I'll get it to everyone, but I just go all that off my plate so I can now concentrate on writing the other six to eight pages I'd like to write before the end of the evening.  I'll take a brief break now to clear the old noggin' then start up again around six.  I'll probably write for ninety minutes then watch one of those Edgar Wallace mystery things because they're only an hour long.

I can't borrow e-books from my library. But I have been borrowing a lot of e-books from other book-lovers.  For many e-books on amazon.com you are allowed to loan them once.  I am loving this feature!

Thanks.  I think I ate too much today but I'm still holding from yesterday.

My eBook library is called Library2Go (OverDrive on the tablets) and it is separate from my regular library.  Have you asked if there is another website for you to use for e-books?  I looked it up and it should still be called Library2Go.

OverDrive is the app you need to download onto your Kindle.

I can't download any apps onto my kindle. I just have a regular kindle.

It is only for reading then?   My original Nook had a library app.  Does this also mean you can't buy books directly from your Kindle & have to do so using your computer?

If your library has OverDrive, then Kindle versions of the books should be an option.  I don't know if your library can choose to NOT allow Kindle editions if they're available, but a lot of the e-books through OverDrive have both epub and Kindle download options...but not all.

Until later!

I just remembered, I did not have an OverDrive app on my original Nook.  I downloaded the books from the computer to my Nook.  It has been so long I forgot.  Having an app is much more convenient.

Back then the library books were mostly for epub (Nook) and now many are also Kindle and some are only Kindle.
