I don't think I ever had that Last of Sheila paperback. I remember going to it at least a couple of times. I believe it was at the Pacific (Stanley Warner). Right?

Interesting question.

Aside from Drama and English classes, I don't think I really excelled at anything in school...primarily because I didn't want to be there. Hated math courses. I had my own plan, so I did enough to get by with a 2.4 or something grade point. Same with college.

School was marking time until I could venture out into the world and do what I wanted to do. I really learned much more useful things about life by working after school and during vacations; also by working in local theatre groups.

Looking back, my life would probably not have been remarkably different had I skipped college altogether.

On the other hand, a college diploma does impress some people.

Does the author stay close to the screenplay or does he riff on it adding his own stuff?

I think it would be very interesting to publish the screenplay annotated with notes from Sondheim, Perkins, Ross and the actors. I am sure there were changes from the time it was final to actual filming days.

I excelled in English, History, Geography and Drama. I was even very in regular mathematics. I was able to see the answers without having to write down the calculations how to get to the answers, but still had to do them. Then when it came to trigonometry I just couldn't get it and dropped it.

I excelled in English and Literature and Composition and Journalism and Typing and History in High School....I did NOT excel in Algebra or Business Law or General Math....or Earth Science.
