It is so cold out today.  I went to Target (which i haven't been to in a while). Since they announced this week that all of the Target's in Canada are closing ... well it was completely packed.

It was a poor replacement for Zellers which I missed terribly last time I was there

I futzed and finessed and wrote a couple of new paragraphs, then went to have lunch.  As you all know, I am a regular at Jerry's Deli - and I have been a regular for years.  I have gone there on Saturdays hundreds of times.  I know the deal and the deal is they're simply not very busy.  I walked in at twelve-thirty and was greeted with about twenty people waiting to be seated.  WAITING.  I turned right around and left.

Vixmom I have no idea why anyone would eat at Junior's.  I never, ever want to go there again.  The last time I purchased Challah & Rye bread to bring home it was so bad I trashed it.   Keith couldn't eat it either so it wasn't just me being my usual picky self.

One backup to go! Then I can delete the old backups toss the LaCie into the garbage.

Thank God it's almost finished.

Thank you to DRs Laura and Mike for the anniversary wishes!

On our way to dinner we stopped at Best Buy for a new microwave.  I'd planned to buy one after Christmas, but then Mom decided to give hers up.  It was at least 5 years old (maybe more) and not very powerful.  I had my suspicions about it last weekend when I tried a bag of microwave popcorn and only about half of it popped.  Then Wednesday, when I was making the Samoas, I started to melt the chocolate and the 'wave went KA-BLOOEY!  Oh, well, Mom never needs to know...

We had a wonderful meal at the Amber Rose.  Richard had the Lithuanian sampler and I had the Russian beef stroganoff.  I brought home half of my entree and we each brought home half of our dessert - bread pudding for me and carrot cake for Richard.

We topped off the evening with that romantic couple activity - grocery shopping.

I've done about seven pages so far.  I took a one-hour break at some point and watched episode two of season two's The Fall.

I'll try to write two to three more pages now, then take another one-hour break, and then shower and finish the chapter and move on the the final three chapters of the book, which will be tricky but I'm looking forward to doing it.

It really just wanted it away from your mother and now you get the new one you wanted ;)

T.O.D.

I did best in Drama Class and in Band.  Once I got to high school, all other subjects went downhill.  I lived my high school years in a kind of  bubble.  Once I walked out of a class, I totally forgot any homework I had until I walked back into class the next day.  Fortunately, I had Student Assistant, plus band and drama to couteract my D- in Biology and Trig.

We had a little bit of cold spell.  One evening it was a very cold wind and drizzle rain while waiting for the bus.  Good thing I always carry a sweater and a umbrella with me.  I felt like something was trying to get a hold on me but I went to bed super early a couple of nights and seemed to have beat it off.

I had a 50% off one item from Jo Ann Fabrics so I bought a looming board I've been eyeing for quite awhile--it was around fifty dollars so I was really happy to get it for $25.  :)

Fourteen pages.  Finished a chapter - I'm really happy with the end of the chapter - the kind of thing I LOVE to do.  So, I just wrote the first line of the third to last chapter.  I may do another page or two later, although I don't really have to, but what a good day's work it's been and I think I deserve at least an hour or two break.

What will you be making with the looming board?

Just caught up with yesterday's reading.

Glad you're OK, Mike.

Cough go away vibes for George.

Thanks, John!  They are lessening, but aren't completely gone...yet. :-\
