And on that note (F-natural), I'm going home.

Until later.

So, I'll be sparse over the next week, but will check in daily regardless.

CD arrived today, and I look forward to hearing it for the first time (Classical Broadway).  That will have to be when I get back, as I will only have phone and iPad with me.

Well this is kinda cool...Laura Benanti and Josh Radnor Will Star in Broadway Revival of She Loves Me.

She certainly has the voice!  And I think I'd read/heard that Josh Radnor has sung before.

A revival of the second-rate Roundabout production by the same team? Must. Miss.  Why does Benanti seem too mature for Amalia to me?  I think she's great, but I'm not sure I see her as Amalia.

She may be too beautiful to be Amalia in my book. And she wouldn't have been my first choice for Most Happy Fella, but she really touched my heart in that one. And I loved her in Gypsy.

Yes, having seen and been involved in the recording of the previous Roundabout revival, I'm with elmore - no need to see this at all.  The director wasn't up to the task then so I'd doubt it would be my cup of tea now.

The director is another matter. I agree. I saw that production after it moved to Broadway. Loved Howard McGillan and Sally Mayes, the rest not so much.

If I go back to work right now and don't come back until Thursday night and don't answer anymore emails or phone calls in that time period there is a slight possibility that I might leave a clean desk when I leave for vacation

I have no news unless you'd like to hear about the joys of loan closing

I finally got to listen to herringbone. I enjoyed it although I had difficulty listening to one scene that was particularly emotionally charged. Of course I am sure that was exactly the intention

Got the call from Muse Margaret and it was a wonderful call - she loved the last eight pages and I think this is her favorite book in the series.  She loved the way it all played out, thought all the explanations were really well done and that it ended just right.  She had three little Muse Margaret notes.  One was a tiny dialogue deletion.  It was an exchange between Adriana and someone and while both Muse Margaret and I were totally in love with Adriana's response it was the set-up line that she was right about - just out of character and at the wrong time and place.  I hated to cut it and we talked about it at length because she loved Adriana's part of it, but she was right and it's stronger and more sinister without it - I just adjusted the line before it and made the cut and it reads very well.  And there's a line about seven pages later that basically does the same thing for her, so we do have that.

Her other two notes were classic Muse Margaret:  Both had to do with clothing.  She wanted a little more description on one of Adriana's dresses - she described something to me, I looked it up online and basically found the exact dress I'd made up for the book that had the addition of what Margaret was talking about.  So, I adjusted that description and added the detail.

The other was she felt we needed one more fashion thing for Adriana and she kept seeing 1950s lounging slippers in her head, so I looked those up on Google, found them and they're great.  So, I added that little item to when she's at home in her pajamas and her feet are cold and she's going to watch a movie with her mother - it's short and sweet, but adds just a lovely bit of detail.  And that's it for now.  Now we have it proofed and I've started Doug Haverty thinking about a cover.

Couldn't be happier with her reaction.

It went fine. It took about an hour to sign all of the pages. I handed him a check and it was over. Today I stopped payments on the old loan, but I forgot about yesterday being a bank holiday, so I have to call Thursday or Friday to set up automatic payments on the new loan. And that's it.

I refinanced with Wells Fargo, which is who had the original mortgage. I went from a 6% loan to a 3.5% loan.

Had lunch on the River Walk today. It was a spectacular afternoon with temperatures in the low 80s. The terrace where we ate was shaded. And we had a couple of guests join us.

Here was the lovely antipasti plate we had to start with. No duck salami on this board:

Did anyone see Judy Kuhn in the role before she left it to go into Sunset Boulevard?

I saw Judy.  I was really annoyed when we found out she wouldn't be doing the album.

I decided I deserved and needed a little celebratory treat, so I went and got a Parisian cake and ate a nice big slice of it.  It's so pitiful that I don't have people who can be spontaneous and just go out and celebrate.
