I'm gonna be a Newbie for life, aren't I?

Well, DR divarobbie, you don't have to keep shaving down there.  (A Will & Grace reference!)

Muffins are not known in Budapest -- or weren't in my day. Neither was Jello.
DD tells, BTW, me that Hungary is the porn capital of the world. I guess you have to do something to make up for the lack of muffins.

My kind of humour, Panni!

So funny!

Now.... if we "mix" sex and Jello... that can be... interesting too! :D

Reading this evening's posts makes me think of one of the skits from Lily Tomlin's Appearing Nitely, in which a married couple has this petty conversation about cake and their young daughter keeps screaming, "WILL YOU PLEASE STOP TALKING ABOUT CAKE!!!"

Was at rehearsal most of the evening, so I have nothing much to talk about. I missed all the bran muffin brouhaha as it took place, and reading about this stuff after the fact is, well, just stale.

I've never had Beef Wellington but I like bran muffins...plain is better (almost an Ed Kleban reference)...raisins are just wrong.

I had to get one last (potentially) HHW fix before I go back to house-sit at the house that has the slowest computer in the world, even though it has DSL Internet access.  Mini-rant:  It's ridiculous.  It's so [expletive deleted] slow!  I don't understand how the owners can stand it.  They must not have Internet on their computers at their work.  End of mini-rant. :-X I try and just accept the computer speed for what it is...slow...and deal with it.  But it's almost like going through withdrawal.  The computer's there availabe for use, but mostly not really worth it.  Okay, it's out of my system.  Thanks for letting me rant! ::)

And with that (and the catching up [ketchuping] on all of the posts), I'm off...probably until tomorrow.

Yes, where in tarnation IS everyone?  This is, after all, Octoberfest.  I'm about to sit in the Jacuzzi for a little while.  Waiting for the temperature to rise just a bit more.

Good Evening!

I'm back from Norfolk and my "first" performance of MAMMA MIA!  I had a few "jitters", but I had a good time and a good show.  It took me a while to adjust my mixing board to the sound mix I'm used to hearing, but I think I'm close.  In any case, I now know what "this" sound mix sounds like.  I was caught off guard in the Overture when the whole band started up - again, the "different" sound mix, but I made it through the show with no major boos-boos.

The drive down to Norfolk was long.  And I even took the right highway this time.  There was a major accident on the other side of the highway, and they had to do some rerouting of the traffic in order to get everyone around it.  So, they were closing off some exits, and eventually detoured some of the westbound traffic onto the eastbound lanes.  The accident only added about 20 minutes to my trip, but then I hit the usual rush hour tunnel and bridge traffic once I hit Hampton Roads.  That was an additional 30-40 minutes.  Ah, well...

I made it to the theatre in time to get a quick dinner at Nordstrom's again, and had a good hour to warm up before the show.  Then I played the show, drove home, and here I am...  And now I'm gonna go read the rest of the posts from today, and then head to bed since I need to get up in time to drive back to Norfolk... -And start all over again...

;)

The jacuzzi was lovely - 104 degrees of pure enjoyment.  I am now totally relaxed and I shall sleep very well tonight methinks.

All this bran muffin stuff...well....golly.  Sounds like it's time to run out and buy a bottle of Phillip's Milk of Magnesia.

I mean...if it's getting so desperate that it's a running commentary through the afternoon and into the evening, I think desperate measures MUST be taken...

:D

Well, the posts have been read...

DR Noel - The Highest Yellow is about a Van Gogh.  If I recall correctly, Jason Daniely is playing Van Gogh, Mark Kudisch is playing his doctor, and Judy Kuhn is playing a whore.  Interesting, huh?  To find out more, go to Signature's site:

Signature Theatre

*You can also see the plans for their new theatre complex.  Let's just hope there's enough money to go around the DC Theatre Community.  Over the next couple of years, most of the major theatres in DC are building new spaces including Arena Stage, The Shakespeare Theatre, Studio Theatre (continuing their expansion), and, of course, The Kennedy Center.

As for the food who's name shall not be mentioned again... I know what I'm NOT having for breakfast in the morning.  -And, like DR Danise, give me a Chocolate Muffin one anyday.  I was hoping to have one at Nordstrom's tonight, but there were out.  Instead, I got a Peanut Butter Brownie.  Pretty tasty.

OH!  On the drive back, I had the Norfolk NPR station on my car radio.  And it was 80's night!  -The 1980's, not the 1880's nor the 1780's...  What a fun drive I had for a while...  "I'll Stop The World And Melt With You", "Video Killed the Radio Star", etc... And then a short live acousting set from Tears for Fears.

OK - I need to get up in six hours, so...

Goodnight.

I'm back from a faboo evening of chatting in Hungarian about just everything. What fun! And guess what I ate? ...Let us begin with what I had to drink. An espresso, natch - this being a Hungarian evening. And to eat -- a CHOCOLATE MUFFIN! And it was so absolutely delicious I almost died from the pleasure of it all.

Ah-hah!

I now have a new screensaver picture....to replace WHAT IF?  It is the cover of the new Bruce Kimmel novel Writer's Block!

Very nifty!  When you show it on TV be sure to wear a red shirt so it will show up nicely!

Mildred Dunnock - DRElmore - as DRMATTH will confirm plays Miss Thornton, the English teacher at Peyton Place High School who is passed over for the job as principal in favor of newcomer Mike Rossi.  She makes a very nice speech at the Graduation Dance is otherwise reminds all of us of at least one teacher in our high school.
