It is about a rare book expert who is restoring a Haggadah and she finds various thinkgs caught in the bindings and stains   As she explores the origin of each we read the true story of how that item or stain  came to be there

DR vixmom - I admire all that you do, but worry about your doing it on only about 3 hours of sleep. Apparently.

Yesterday.....I taught my mother how to use her Android Tablet!  I am hoping now that she will graduate to her computer....which is now being used as a $700 thermometer.

She checks the temperature every morning, and then she never touches it the rest of the day.

I thought that an actual rice dish might be good. But then realized it was a book where the "rice was right".  That is my new favorite saying. ;)

Good morning, all! Thanks to a multitude of drugs I was unconscious for quite some time.  I had an endless dream about this "Dreidl Song" I'm arranging for my publisher, as I worked out the bridges and modulations. I remember bits of two other dreams that now are too vague to reconstruct.

After we meet, he is off to see the town and I believe I will return and do some sketches for the Dreidl number.

TOD:

No idea what we will watch this weekend; probably something from my library of 4000+ titles on DVD/Blu-ray.

We did rent RICKI AND THE FLASH with Meryl Streep and Kevin Kline the other night.  Thought the first 2/3 were terrific, but the film needed a 3rd act, which wasn't there.

Happy birthday to divarobbie!

Finally got to meet him not all that long ago at an excellent show he directed, as it turned out we were sitting about three seats away from him.

No Black Friday shopping for me.  I think I've only gone out looking for anything on a Black Friday once or twice over the years, and only one of those times did I actually buy something that, at the time, was planned and worth buying.  It was my first Blu-ray player, a small Sony at Costco, in 2008.  Fortunately, that player, though expensive compared to equivalent ones now, and lacking many features common nowadays, is still performing like a champ.

I've taken advantage of a couple of small things online this week, but I've got to stop.  I've been spreading it around like the Russians were in Jersey.

And BTW, I do agree with DR vixmom's sentiment about not encouraging the stores.  At least a few of them got the message and cut out the Thanksgiving Day bull   nonsense this year.

EDIT:  Also, I just don't like the kinds of crowds that events like Black Friday encourage.

And the traffic!!  Oh good lord, the traffic.

Also, I'm using this last beautiful warm weather day on outdoors work that still needs to be done.

After, perhaps, some toast and another cup of coffee.....

TOD

Listening:  I dunno, probably some seasonal stuff to get in the mood with.  But I first need to hear the lovely Robert Ward CD that's been sitting here for a week or longer, and this lovely Subways Are for Sleeping CD.  I've already enjoyed the lovely Ravel CD before those arrived, and I think that's right where my listening cut off this past week as things got busy.

Watching:  Again, probably something seasonal.  The housemates and I are going up to a tree farm tomorrow to cut a tree for the first time in several years.  We like to usher the season in with CDs whilst decorating, usually followed with something light like the Rankin/Bass TV specials of olde.
