Just found out that the Studio City Daily Grill is closing right after the New Year.  Shocking really.  I wonder if other branches will be closing.

It's a wonderful tribute to Mr. Brubeck, and the added note works fine.  I have a number of really nice Brubeck LPs, which I just happened to look through and play recently.  I do not have the Points on Jazz ballet, though, and that will have to be rectified.

Of course the Kritzer Time reference makes it all the better.

"Take Five" was absolutely a phenomenon for me and a few friends back in the day.  Of course we all thought we were so smart "getting" the 5/4.

The Daily Grill will be replaced by a seafood restaurant from the same owners - Laurel Point.  Opening in June of next year.

Too bad.  The one in Brentwood closed a long time ago.  After moving here we met a friend at the one in Portland and had a delicious lunch.

I went for a short, for me, walk and now I look like a drowned rat.  I also need to get rain pants.  I'm sure they make them.

Hey! I get to hit my millstone again!

I forgot that a chunk of our posts went missing because when I went into the HHW Photobucket account, your 35000th post was already saved!  I wondered who did it, but then I realized that it must've been me.  Anyway, I uploaded it to Photobucket again because it deserved to be saved again:

Monday morning greetings!  Well, our Sunday didn't unfold anything like we'd intended.  Richard and I were going to visit a church in Dayton in the morning and attend our local MESSIAH performance in the afternoon.  He'd complained Saturday evening of some stomach upset, so we decided to cancel the Dayton church visit.  He got up yesterday morning thinking he was better enough to continue with our afternoon plans, but crashed about 1pm and decided about 4:30 that he was sick enough for Paramedic Rob to take a look at him.  Rob suggested we drive Richard to the ER, so we arrived about 5pm and were there until 11.  They performed all kinds of tests and diagnosed severe gastroenteritis.  The good news is that it's not something serious, but the bad news is that it's highly contagious.  We're washing our hands a lot...

:o

I think I need to look into that, also.

TOD - as a freshman at the University of Michigan I was placed in the newest dorm, which was on North Campus near the School of Music.  Even though I had to ride a bus to get to Central Campus where all my classes met, I ended up staying out there all 4 years - 2 in that undergrad dorm and 2 in housing that was for juniors, seniors, and grad students.  So many of my friends were music majors and I learned from them to appreciate classical music, including opera.  One of my best friends, a piano/music education major, just retired from a distinguished teaching career at Eastern Michigan University.

Well, it's official that I have completed and was able to submit the evaluations of my staff, which have also been approved by my supervisor!

I don't know what happened, but I came in today and the evaluation forms just worked.  With no prompting or prodding from the HR manager.

The on-line forms just fixed themselves, so now it's done.
